WORLDWIDE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS
2019 Year in Review
Dean’s Message
Dear friends of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide College of Business,
The college’s focus on coaching its students continues to expand, as does the unique offering of Microsoft Software & Systems Academy (MSSA), which is available at eleven locations across the country. We are extremely proud of the MSSA graduates, who command a very healthy wage premium to graduates of any discipline. The college’s foothold in the industry became stronger this year as the Dean’s Council of advisors provided significant input into our strategy and curriculum to bolster our students’ readiness to grow their careers. A new cutting-edge vision for our graduate program, based on highly unique and targeted academic certificates, has been created, and the work on advancing this vision is continuing. I invite you to look through all of our highlights in the following pages. I am proud of all our faculty, students, and industry partners, whose support has been critical to all our successes.
Warm greetings to all of you. The year in review allows me to highlight the great work of our faculty, who are dedicated to and vested in the success of our students. 2019 was a productive year for the college, with advances on all fronts- from academics to scholarship output to partnership building. During this year, the college achieved several important milestones, including the launch of the B.S in Business Analytics and our inaugural Certificate in Airline Financial Risk Management in Singapore. The college also strengthened its partnership with the Turkish Aviation Academy by offering courses in business models for the aviation sector as well as a course in service innovation. Dr. Rachel Vigness did a wonderful job with this course. The college also intensified its focus on excellence by creating three additional portfolios- Assistant Dean of Excellence and Accreditation, Assistant Dean for Student Success, and Director for Faculty Engagement.
Thank you for your continued support! Sincerely,
Maneesh Sharma, Ph.D. Dean and Professor of Finance College of Business, Worldwide Campus [email protected]
