Leadership Texarkana, with the support of the City of Texarkana, Texas, hosted their tenth annual Fall Party at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center, October 13. The event was held to celebrate the Leadership class of 2020 and the partners and supporters of Leadership Texarkana. There were food trucks on hand to add to the festivity and fun. At the event, Dr. Mary Ellen Young was named as the 2020 Idalee Raffaelli Hawkins Leader of the Year honoree. This award, named after the 1981 Leadership Texarkana alum, Idalee Raffaelli Hawkins, for her example and legacy, is presented to Leadership Texarkana graduates “who exemplify Idalee’s ability to balance roles between family and community, and whose leadership results in a better Texarkana for all residents,” said Ruth Ellen Whitt, executive director of Leadership Texarkana. Leadership Texarkana is committed to “ENGAGING, EQUIPPING and inspiring leaders throughout Texarkana USA in WORKING TOGETHER with a common focus for community excellence, pride and progress.” This was a great event, in honor of the 2020 class of Leadership Texarkana, and to introduce the incoming class of 2021.
