PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Linda Lugo 2016 NYSAR President

Dear colleague, If you thought the Business Meetings were great before, just wait until you see what we have planned for this Fall. In addition to our committee meetings, working groups and forums – which will provide you with a wealth of information to take back to your business – we’ll have two keynote speakers, an exciting (and somewhat mysterious) Fishbowl Experiment sponsored by our YPN, a CE course, Legal Update and RPAC Trivia Night fundraiser. There will really be so much to gain by attending – whether it’s for your first time or if you’re a seasoned veteran. We’re very excited to have the Communications, Marketing and Technology Forums teaming up to offer an opening day keynote session on Sunday afternoon presented by Jeff Slutsky of

Street Fighter Marketing. His presentation, “Marketing Without Money,” will provide clever, low-cost marketing tactics that get proven results on the local level and can be employed immediately. After the session, please join me at the President’s Reception for hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. If you can only attend the meetings for one day, we suggest making Monday, Sept. 26 that day. In addition to committee meetings, our agenda is full of exciting learning and networking opportunities. I highly recommend attending the Legal Update presented by NYSAR’s General Counsel Anthony Gatto, Esq. on Monday afternoon – be sure to pre-register so you can get a free boxed lunch on your way in. Then, head in to our General Session where I’ll share the latest news about the state of the association. I’m also really looking forward to hearing our keynote speaker, Mark Sanborn,an international bestselling author and noted authority on leadership, team building, customer service and change. He’ll share with you the exciting opportunities that await you when you pursue your own potential. In the late afternoon, the NYSAR Young Professionals Network (YPN) is sponsoring a new event called the Fishbowl Experiment. I’m intrigued! Last but not least, RPAC of New York is hosting RPAC Trivia Night, where our regions will once again compete to be called New York’s smartest region of REALTORS ® . I also want to take a moment to remind you about the NYSAR Meeting Planner, where you can build your own schedule, access committee agendas and supporting documents and the attendee list. Once you’ve registered for the meetings, simply login to meetingplanner.nysar.com with your last name and the cell phone number you provided to get started. On behalf of your leadership team of President-Elect Dawn Carpenter, Secretary/Treasurer CJ DelVecchio and CEO Duncan MacKenzie, thank you for your interest in the upcoming Fall Business Meetings. We hope to see you at Turning Stone! Regards,

Dawn Carpenter President-Elect

CJ DelVecchio Secretary/Treasurer
