Strategic Vision

2022-2027

EXCELLENCE BY DESIGN

College of Aviation | Daytona Beach Campus

The global leader in aviation and aerospace education, research and curriculum innovation.

A WORD FROM THE DEAN OF THE COLLEGE OF AVIATION

The following pages provide a high-level overview of over-arching strategic goals and numerous objectives that will guide the college over the next five years. While the goals are broad and static, the objectives are dynamic and malleable, able to be adjusted as opportunities present themselves. Not explicit in the strategic plan is a discussion of the college environment in which we operate. It is important to note that we will seek to achieve these strategic goals within a milieu shaped by a culture of inquiry, including creativity and innovation in the classroom and research environments; prudent fiscal stewardship in all our activities; and the fostering of mutual respect, open communication and integrity among and between all constituencies. I am indebted to the college’s faculty and leadership team that helped create this strategic plan. We have hard work ahead of us, but I have overflowing confidence in our faculty, staff and students to achieve Excellence by Design .

For nearly 100 years, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has been educating and training the world’s finest pilots and mechanics. Today, the College of Aviation on the Daytona Beach

Campus is regarded as the premier aviation college in the nation, offering 13 degree programs from the associate to the Ph.D. in disciplines including professional pilot, aircraft maintenance science, air traffic management, unmanned aircraft systems, space operations, safety science and meteorology. The college employs more than 300 full-time professionals who are committed to providing our students with an unparalleled educational experience. Our students are at the center of our mission. Our faculty and staff strive to prepare each one of our 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students for a productive career in the aviation industry. Aviation is a dynamic industry that has only recently entered its second century. Our mission every day is to prepare students to thrive in this rapidly evolving field — this strategic plan will help ensure we achieve that mission.
