One of the things we love most about this industry is that it’s always evolving. At Hornady ® , we’ve always prided ourselves on innovating and listening to our customers’ needs. When the company was founded in 1949, my dad (Jason’s grandpa) was searching for a better bullet. As a hunter and shooter, he knew he could make something better. More than 70 years later, that still sums up Hornady ® — a bunch of hunters and shooters, constantly striving for better products. That continued innovation is evident in our introduction of the CX ™ bullet. With its Heat Shield ® tip, optimized grooves and hard-hitting copper alloy construction, CX ™ represents the pinnacle of monolithic bullet performance. In fact, our constant pursuit of better products can be found in every category we offer. Throughout this catalog, you’ll find several new products, as well as line extensions in everything from ammo and bullets to security and reloading tools. Despite the high quality of our existing lines, we find great satisfaction in achieving incremental improvements year after year. Our passion for this industry fuels our determination to meet that never-ending challenge. BULLETS
The new CX ™ (Copper alloy eXpanding) bullet from Hornady represents the most advanced monolithic hunting bullet on the market. Its optimized design offers extended range performance, greater accuracy, high weight retention, and deep penetration. MONOLITHIC COPPER ALLOY BULLET One-piece copper alloy bullet delivers devastating terminal performance, deep penetration, and 95% weight retention. HEAT SHIELD ® TIP
The Heat Shield ® Tip is made of a heat resistant polymer that resists aerodynamic heating and provides a consistently high BC for the bullet’s entire flight path. The Heat Shield ® tip also gives the bullet a perfect meplat (tip) for bullet-to-bullet and lot-to-lot consistency. OPTIMUM GROOVE GEOMETRY
The grooves on the CX ™ bullet maximize aerodynamic performance while effectively reducing bearing surface and fouling. NONTRADITIONAL OPTION FOR LARGE GAME Non-lead material appropriate for use in areas that require nontraditional bullets, CX ™ provides a great option for everything from medium-size to large game.

BULLETS
The new ECX ™ (Extreme Copper alloy eXpanding) bullet from Hornady represents the pinnacle of monolithic bullet performance for our international customers. Its optimized design offers high levels of accuracy across a wide variety of chamber designs and twist rates. Particular attention was given to ensure excellent compatibility with traditional European chamber dimensions. MONOLITHIC COPPER ALLOY BULLET This one-piece, non-lead copper alloy bullet was designed for 95% or more weight retention with limited fragmentation and incredibly deep penetration, even through bone. FLAT POLYMER TIP The flat polymer tip helps initiate expansion by driving back into the hollow cavity at the front of the bullet creating uniform expansion. OPTIMUM GROOVE GEOMETRY The grooves on the ECX ™ bullet have been optimized to reduce drag, resulting in more retained velocity downrange and more energy on target. THE
CARTRIDGE OF A HORNADY ® At Hornady, we started manufacturing ammunition to give the hunter and non-reloading shooter an extra advantage– handloaded accuracy in a factory-loaded round. We start with Hornady bullets. The same bullets reloaders use for pinpoint accuracy and dependable performance. Every cartridge is loaded with these bullets on our precision presses one after another.
We carefully inspect cartridges before they go into a box. Brass, primers and bullets are carefully screened one last time for flaws, scratches or imperfections. Unless every round is right, we don’t sell it.

BULLETS The most important part of a loaded cartridge is the bullet. Used by handloaders around the world, Hornady bullets are legendary because of their dependability and performance. BRASS Most Hornady ammunition is loaded in Hornady manufactured cases. We carefully manufacture our brass cases for reliable feeding, corrosion resistance, proper hardness and the ability to withstand maximum chamber pressures. We measure for consistently tight wall concentricity and even run our cases through a pressure calibration test to ensure uniform case expansion during firing. Thanks to this kind of manufacturing care, Hornady cases will ensure proper seating of the bullet, both in the case and in the chamber and ultimately yields optimal velocity, repeatable accuracy and numerous reloads.
POWDER The powder in each cartridge is specifically chosen, based on performance, pressure, velocity and accuracy. We use only the highest quality powders on the market. Each new lot of powder we use is double- checked for consistency. Our continued testing and research guarantees the optimum powder choices. PRIMERS Primers are selected for proven ability to work efficiently. They are carefully matched to each load and chosen for their ability to quickly and consistently ignite the entire powder charge.
