Beat the heat! With temperatures as high as they are, it is very important to know ways to stay cool in hot weather. Extreme heat causes more than 600 deaths each year. Be sure to stay cool, keep hydrated, and be informed! TIPS TO REMEMBER: • Stay in air-conditioned buildings as much as possible. • Drink more water than usual. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink. • Schedule outdoor activities carefully. Wear loose, light-weight, light colored clothing & sunscreen. • Take cool showers or baths to cool down. • Never leave children or pets in cars.
