Where We’ve Come From , 30 years in the making…

Abbey Logistics can trace it’s roots back to 1973 but the company in it’s current guise began business in 1990 transporting f ood grade liquids

1990 – Began Trading as Abbey Road Tanks supporting major liquid food manufacturer

2020 – Winner ‘Team of the Year’ at Motor Transport Awards. Renewed long term contract with British Sugar

1995 – Wins Motor Transport Award for the ART200, a road tanker that revolutionises food safety in the liquid transport market. Steve Granite joins the business.

2019 – Continued growth in new powders sectors with large contract wins with Hovis (flour) Tarmac (Mineral products)

2001 – Fourth UK site open in London and 2 nd tank wash opened in Hull.

2018 – Continuing Abbey’s tradition of offering value adding services, liquid drumming facility opens for business and blueprints signed off for powders reprocessing facility

2002 – Abbey enter the UK liquid chocolate market and launch a new design of road tanker that transports chocolate, syrup and fats.

2017 – Abbey completes acquisition of Armet Logistics to create the UK’s largest bulk liquid tanker company.

2016 – Steve Granite successfully leads a management buy-out of the business supported by NorthEdge Capital.

2009/11 – Steve Granite appointed MD, Abbey enters powdered food market.

2016 – Abbey awarded bulk transport contract from British Sugar to transport all manufactured liquid and powder sugar across the UK.

2012/13 – Abbey begins transporting liquids and powders into Europe. Steve Granite launches Think Logistics, an initiative to attract more young people to the logistics sector.

2015 - Abbey opens warehouse facility in Bromborough, North West England.

2014 – Building its growing powders division, Abbey acquires Seafield Logistics paving the way for Abbey to become the UK’s largest bulk food powder road tanker company.

Abbey has the largest fleet of SCOPA registered tanks in the UK (approx. 64% of total market). In addition, we also have the UK’ s largest liquid chocolate tanker fleet and a food grade general purpose tanker fleet operating throughout the UK. We can also dedicate tanks to customers. EQUIPMENT – POWDERS - FOOD AND NON-FOOD

Abbey is one of the UK’s leading bulk powder road tanker companies. We offer unrivalled flexibility thanks to the versatilit y of our fleet that includes tipping, silo, urban delivery and evacuation tankers. We operate dedicated food grade powder tankers and tanks that support the polymers, buildings and construction sectors.

110,000 sq feet of warehousing space at Abbey’s site on the Wirral. Ambient storage manned 24/7. Conveniently located six miles from Liv erpool Port and easily accessible from the M53, M56, M6 and M62 motorways. WAREHOUSING 15

Based at Abbey’s warehouse on the Wirral, Abbey provide storage of bagged products that arrive directly from UK ports or dome stic manufacturers. Products are decanted into bulk tankers and onward distribution managed through Abbey’s owned fleet. The facility can provide decanting services to most non hazardou s granulated and powder products. BAG TO BULK MATERIALS HANDLING 16

Abbey has a small food grade drumming facility at its warehouse on the Wirral. The operation takes a tanker of liquid product which is then pumped into drums for storage and onward shipping. This facility was setup for a customer to drum glucose syrup. FOOD GRADE DRUMMING 17

Abbey’s two bay food grade tank cleaning station in Hull is located next to the Port of Hull and provides tank cleaning servi ces to Abbey’s own fleet and 3 rd party hauliers along with an IBC cleaning bay. The cleaning station has undergone significant refurbishment in the last 12 months to improve speed of washes and efficiency. TANK CLEANING 18
