About the Club Set among the rol l ing hi l ls of the Delaware Val ley and surrounded by land formerly owned by the renowned duPont fami ly, our storied history of over 100 years has sol idified Wi lmington Country Club as one of the finest and most prestigious clubs in the country. Home to two world class golf courses, Wi lmington Country Club has hosted a number of USGA and National Amateur Championships. SOUTH COURSE: The South Course, designed by the legendary architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. , is our signature course and was opened for play on October 8th 1959. Renovated by Keith Foster in 2008, it plays a monstrous 7,334 yards. The North Course reflects Dick Wi lson ’ s course design of smal ler greens, narrower fairways and more sand bunkers than the South Course. NORTH COURSE: TENNIS: Our tennis faci l ity boasts twenty three courts including eleven clay courts, two outdoor hard courts, two grass and six indoor courts. The Mission of The Wi lmington Country Club is to continue to be one of the finest private country clubs in the United States, with a primary emphasis on meeting the desires of its members, their fami l ies and their personal guests. WILMINGTON COUNTRY CLUB

The internship program at Wi lmington Country Club wi l l take you through the heart of the golf season in the Mid - Atlantic. The cl imatic conditions of the region make it a chal lenging yet extremely beneficial experience for your career. As a team member, you wi l l be mentored and become ski l led at the necessities to maintain a high end private country club.

Your duties wi l l include, but are not l imited to:

Learning to operate al l types of equipment uti l ized on course.

Achieve a fair course set - up in accordance with the USGA rules.

Understanding, learning, and employing cal ibration techniques of sprayers and spreaders.

REQUIREMENTS - BENEFITS - OPPORTUNITIES

Applying plant protectants using the latest GPS technology.

Monitoring and updating chemical records and inventory.

Repair basic to advanced irrigation problems.

Employ proper hand watering techniques of greens and tees.

Golf Course interns are required to be enrol led in either an accredited two or four year institution in a field of study related to golf turf management.

Smal l project development and execution.

Assist in the grass tennis court maintenance.

Interns wi l l volunteer at a large PGA, LPGA, or USGA Championship

COURSE ENHANCEMENTS

Master plan renovations on the North and South Course with architect Andrew Green. New teeing grounds and fairway expansions in preparation for a major televised golf tournament in 2022 on the South Course. Bunkers restoration and additions on the South Course using capi l lary concrete. Bunker enhancements on the North Course featuring new sand and sand Trapper II Liner.
