happily cheering in the stands as they beat the Raiders. That same weekend, Lauren continued the tradition of attending her annual Eagles game, this year eagerly watching as they played against the New York Giants. She kept her lucky streak going, with Philadelphia coming out just one field goal ahead in the end! As the holiday season began to pick up, a few of our staff members journeyed North. Bekah and her husband Greg visited New York City, where they were able to get much closer to the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree than they had in the past! Becky also visited New York City, with her boyfriend Nick and his family. She decided to enjoy the path less traveled, away from the hustle and bustle of tourist sites, where she stumbled upon a bunch of funky shops that she had a great time browsing through.
We hope your holiday season was merry and bright! As we begin our first chapter of 2019, we wanted to reflect on some of our favorite memories from the closing chapters of 2018. Thanksgiving was a time for gratitude, community, appreciation, and of course – Black Friday shopping. Following their satiating Thanksgiving meals, Mallory and Jazmyn scored big with the Black Friday deals. Mallory and her mom went at 0-Dark-30 to snag the best deals in town, while Jaz and her roommate walked away with a new couch for their apartment. It was also a season of sports, with our staff rooting for the victories of their favorite teams – and without disappointment! Sam attended his first Ravens game,

(continued from outside) But the winter festivities didn’t end there! Lauren had a blast attending ICE! featuring A Charlie Brown Christmas , at the National Harbor. She watched excitedly alongside her mom, stepdad, and husband Brent. Back at home, Jo enjoyed a little more free time… He had just completed his Fall Semester finals and was content with taking some time to relax! With all the seasonal commotion, our Atlas staff somehow seemed to find enough time to begin a new tradition – Escape Room! At “Area 51,” eight of us worked together to decipher clues, open locks, save an alien, and escape with three minutes to spare! Afterward, nine staff and plus-one’s went to dinner and exchanged Secret Santa gifts. The whole day was fun and team-building, and due to the adrenaline rush that followed our escape, I think it’s safe to say that we would all be excited to partake in another Escape Room soon!
As for me, I had a busy and exciting holiday season with my family. I took Samantha and Kathryn to the National Aquarium in Baltimore, which is one of our favorite field trip spots. The sea creatures did not disappoint - our favorites were the touch pool rays, horseshoe crabs, dolphins, colorful jellyfish, and the scooba diver cleaning the big tank! The girls had an action-packed December. They danced out the Nutcracker Ballet, where they and 10 other little girls had fun being a part of the Army of Mice and sugar fairies! They also had a great time doing the clown dance and twirling around through the other acts. In pre-K, Kathryn also built up a Bug Hotel in the woods for her critter friends to find shelter in the cold weather - but if those critters come inside our house, she doesn’t act like their friend! One of the biggest highlights of this holiday season was taking the girls to visit Santa. There were ornaments

to make and a reindeer food bar, in addition to a song and story from Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Their good behavior (one more so than the other that week) earned them a few extra dollars to spend at the kids’ workshop - where no grown-ups were allowed! It was the first time they’d ever had cash to manage, especially without a parent to help. Samantha (6) got something for 10 sets of people, while Kathryn (4) got something for herself and one other person. I guess it’s time for more lessons on money! Finally, for our White Elephant exchange with TJ’s cousins this year, a cold-brew coffee maker turned out to be the “hottest” gift. It was a jam-packed end to 2018, but our Atlas PT team sure had a great time, and we hope you did too! We’d love to know - what’s your favorite memory from this holiday season?

Stuffed Zucchini Boats
“I’m standing for longer periods of time with less pain.” When I first started PT with Atlas, I had pain, swelling and stiffness in my left knee. It was impacting my quality of life. I was unable to take long walks (with my dogs!) without using a knee brace and still having some pain. Steps were not fun at all (and I live in a house with 5 levels - so lots of stairs!). Now I am able to do all of the above with no pain and no brace. Did (and will still do) my homework, had excellent instruction and am very happy with no pain. - Lorey S.
Ingredients • Four medium-sized zucchinis • One 5oz log of goat cheese
• 1-2 cups of marinara sauce • Chopped parsley
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Slice zucchini lengthwise and scoop out seeds. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Place on baking sheet. Using 1/2 of the goat cheese, spread small amount into the zucchini and cover with marinara sauce. Drop dots of remaining cheese over the marinara, bake until cheese is soft and marinara is bubbling (about 20 minutes).
