While we’re used to warm weather here in Texas, the higher temperatures make it even more important to take care of your health and beauty to protect the esthetic you’ve been carefully working to achieve. What I would recommend is a three-pronged approach to summer beauty. Hydrate Hydration starts from the inside out. Even the best moisturizer won’t solve parched skin if your body is in need of more water. Drink water throughout the day and stick to one cup of coffee or tea, as caffeine is dehydrating. If you find regular water isn’t cutting it, add a slice of lemon, grapefruit, or cucumber to give it some flavor without adding any sugar. Zucchini Salad With Toasted Hazelnuts

3 small zucchini (3/4 lb.) 1/2 tsp lemon zest, grated 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice 3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil Salt and pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS 1. Using a mandolin or very sharp knife, slice zucchini lengthwise into extremely thin, wide ribbons. 2. Arrange zucchini ribbons on a plate, sprinkle with lemon zest, and drizzle with juice. 3. Drizzle oil over zucchini, season with salt and pepper, and toss. 4. Scatter hazelnuts over the top, garnish with mint and cheese, and serve.
