A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
I trust everyone is doing well.
suppliers in San Diego, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, Chicagoland, and I was also extremely fortunate to join the WAXIE President’s Club winners to celebrate in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. What an awesome trip, and congrats to all the winners. As we continue to focus on Run the Business, Grow the Business and Build the Company and Culture , I’m excited that so far this year we have hired 90 new employees, so welcome to the family.
It has been another exciting quarter at Envoy Solutions. From a financial, operational, service, and safety perspective we had a good quarter. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. COVID is still having a major impact on our business, but life is getting back to normal. Many cities have opened up and/or will be open very soon. This is reflected in our numbers. Thanks to everyone that got vaccinated. This will allow us to return to our offices, visit with customers, and meet suppliers in-person.
MARK FISHER CEO
As we grow, we’ll continue to need more people. Currently, we have over 75 open positions including sales, operations, drivers, billing, etc. If you know anyone that is hardworking and humble, please take advantage of our employee referral program and have them apply here. I know we have a lot going on and some changes, but please continue to focus on taking care of each other, our customers and our suppliers. If we don’t get a chance to speak live, have a happy and safe Fourth of July.
I’ve had the pleasure over the last few months to visit our teams, customers, and

The second innovation is the “ Simulator ” which emulates extreme situations and has the objective of reducing accidents to zero.

The excitement and energy continue to build as we slowly crawl out of this pandemic and get back to serving our communities and leveraging the strength of our culture. Kudos to WAXIE Ontario for organizing a fundraiser for Heroes Warehouse, a non-profit organization in the Inland Empire that helps with household goods for veterans (furniture, cooking, bedding, supplies, etc.). Congratulations to Jamie Woodward for earning the WAXIE 2020 Chairman Award, the highest distinction of honor for a WAXIE account consultant to achieve. Jamie accepted the award while crediting the amazing support staff of drivers, warehouse personnel, customer service, procurement, finance, service center and sales leadership teams.
After a little over a quarter of a century of manning the helm at WAXIE Las Vegas, Vice President, General Manager Lou Richards retired . His leadership and industry presence in the market is well known, well respected and trusted amongst customers, suppliers and competitors. Congratulations on your retirement Lou! Congratulations to Tiffany McLaughlin, on her recent promotion to general manager of the Oklahoma City and Wichita branches! WAXIE continues to pursue sales opportunities with Industrial Packaging and Signage while leveraging the strength and support of Envoy Solutions. WAXIE Santa Ana landed a reoccurring sale of stretch wrap with Cambro Manufacturing.
signage sales to Adelanto School District and SB Community College. The City of San Diego purchased two pallets of stretch film with additional quotes in place. Matt Kukankos (North American) made a 3-day consulting trip to Arizona that resulted in an equipment trial with Radius Aerospace. There’s huge potential in Utah as they inch closer to a large stretch film sale that includes machinery. The conversation around the benefits of air purifiers to help mitigate the risks of the airborne transmission of COVID-19 and the flu virus continues to gain momentum. With the successful education of available federal funding under the CRRSA Act and the American Rescue Plan Act, school districts have jumped at the opportunity to use these funds to purchase air purifiers to improve indoor air quality & ventilation for reopening schools.
The Ontario team have several packaging deals in the pipeline with

Envoy Solutions’ Relationships and Expertise Lead to Win-Win Solution for Kärcher
>>
Thanks to a WAXIE introduction, North American (and Envoy Solutions) can now provide a cost- and time-savings packaging solution to Kärcher, a global manufacturer of cleaning machinery. “The combination of WAXIE’s strong relationships and NA’s in-depth knowledge of packaging solutions created a win for the customer (Kärcher) and Envoy Solutions,” said Matt Kukankos, NA senior sales executive. Mike Midas, WAXIE senior regional VP West, made the introduction, and Nancy Anderson, WAXIE senior account consultant, facilitated a meeting between Kärcher, one of WAXIE’s top suppliers, and NA’s Kukankos and category director Holly Wenig. Kärcher, which manufactures scrubbers, sweepers, and pressure washers, ships much of its machinery on wooden pallets with wooden crating for protection. Shipping many items internationally, Kärcher uses a more expensive treated wood. Instead, Kukankos proposed using SURECrate, a wooden crate replacement made from 100 percent recycled laminated paperboard materials. “ It’s stronger and lighter than wood, making it less expensive to ship and more ergonomically friendly to handle, ” Kukankos said, adding that it's a sustainable solution that the end-user can recycle. “ It’s a big win for a global company,” Kukankos said of Kärcher.

SOLSTA Cross-Selling Collaboration Brings Big Value to New Customers in North Carolina
Following WAXIE’s Solution Station (SOLSTA) training session with the Southeastern Paper Group sales team, SEPG North Carolina sales consultant Brian Jernigan began contacting school systems across the state. He understood its value and wanted to share the power of this new solution with his customers! His first presentation was an on-site demo with Wayne County Public Schools in Goldsboro, NC. Glenn Jackson, SEPG janitorial sales director, assisted Brian with the presentation and further shared the value of the SOLSTA system with the end-users. While this is a brand new product solution for the SEPG team, Brian and Glenn explained the labeling and methodology behind the color-coding, numbers, and pictures of the SOLSTA system. In addition, they collaborated with Tim Filichia, WAXIE sales manager, who walked them through the right product mix for school systems, and Don Schuldies, WAXIE senior merchandising manager, who identified the best spare parts to keep on hand to ensure the systems remained operational.
Furthermore, the WAXIE team reinforced the extensive training available online for Wayne County’s custodial staff and provided a list of existing school systems the customer could reach out to as a reference. Recently, Wayne County announced they were launching the WAXIE SOLSTA system across the district. While they initially agreed to try the SOLSTA system for the potential savings and product simplicity, after a one-month trial, the custodial staff were convinced this system was the best solution for the district. The efficacy of the chemicals, their pleasant smell, and the overall ease of use of the product—they loved everything! As a result, the district will install over 100 SOLSTA units, phasing into the schools over the summer and fall. This opportunity is another testament to the power of Envoy Solutions through the expertise, partnership, and support that we all share. The collaboration and preparation that went into expertly presenting a win-win solution for the customer and SEPG (and Envoy Solutions) are what cross-selling is all about!

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT Q & A with a few of the stars of the Envoy Solutions show!
Joe Spapperi Director, Procurement & Operational Development North American
Have you had to overcome any obstacles during your tenure at NA? If so, what was the obstacle, and how did you overcome it? One project that comes to mind was a large Walgreens cosmetic bag that we sourced globally with an aggressive launch date. While traveling overseas to meet with the manufacturer, we discovered the specs were different, and the delivery date was set for six weeks after the scheduled launch. After daily meetings, multiple production runs, and weeks of collaboration, we were still not on schedule. However, we were committed to delivering on our promise to Walgreens. A container full of bags finally shipped, with the vessel arriving at the U.S. port one week later, and we successfully delivered the product to Walgreens. The lesson learned is never to give up, persevere through resistance, and believe it can be accomplished. Name one thing that not many people know about you: I have always enjoyed playing sports. I played soccer from the age of 15 until 56 years old, when my wheels stopped turning at the speed they once did.
Three words to describe you: Loyal, Humble, Determined
How long have you worked at NA? 41 years. I started part-time while in college, picking orders at the Franklin Park, IL Distribution Center. Describe a memorable experience that you’ve had working at NA: In August 2007, a severe thunderstorm came through the area and knocked out two of the three electric feeds which powered our building. The power outage lasted Thursday thru Sunday. During these four days, we all pulled together to keep the business operating and serve our customers. We set up temporary workstations closest to power sources, ran extension cords throughout the building to keep equipment and computers operational, picked customer orders with flashlights, and established teams for 24/7 coverage. In the end, we kept the business up and running through the hard work and efforts of employees across the company.

How long have you worked at WAXIE? 6 years. I started as a Janitor and have worked my way up to Senior Janitor.
Describe a memorable experience that you’ve had working at SEPG: I enjoyed attending the 2020 Sales Celebration at Chateau Elan where we discussed next year’s sales strategy. It was great meeting everyone and was also a lot of fun. Have you had to overcome any obstacles during your tenure at SEPG? If so, what was the obstacle, and how did you overcome it? The pandemic has definitely been a challenge. A lot of my smaller customers were and continue to be harmed by it, not to mention with a lot of places moving to work from home, some of the facility supplies accounts were affected. We had to make up for it by switching gears and getting new business, specifically PPE sales.
Describe a memorable experience you’ve had working at WAXIE:
I have many! One thing that stands out was a birthday lunch that was prepared especially for me this year by Skip Willis, Eric Cohen and Rick Hazard. They made all of the food from scratch. It was completely unexpected and a wonderful thought. Have you had to overcome any obstacles during your tenure at WAXIE? Getting used to the work schedule. I start at 4:30 am, and with three kids, a husband, and a mother that I look after in Tijuana, I don’t get much sleep. It can be tough to get here on time some days! What do you value the most? Spending time with my family. I’m so proud of my children! My oldest daughter is studying to be a teacher, and my two younger kids both enjoy boxing.
What values are important to you? Family is the most important value to me.
What hobbies do you enjoy? I love snow skiing and playing golf with my buddies.

Name one thing that not many people know about you: Not many people know this, but I am remarkably good at all board games.
Name one thing that not many people know about you: I love to cook! Mexican dishes are my specialty, and I have a secret salsa recipe that I like to bring in and share with my favorite coworkers.
