Clearly & ME to WE
About WE
Our founding story
At 12 years old, Craig Kielburger told his class about Iqbal Masih, a child laborer who escaped slavery but was murdered after raising his voice. Craig reached out to his classmates and immediately found twelve 12-year-olds, as other children rallied to join his cause and give back in a meaningful way to local and international communities. When Craig started most charities treated children and youth as “problems to be solved”, rather than the “problem- solvers”. Together, they started the WE movement to empower children and families to improve their communities and the world. Our mission: Make doing good, doable.
Our purpose
WE makes doing good, doable. WE is a movement that brings people together and gives them the tools to change the world. Our unique family of organizations empower people at home, around the world and with our social enterprise to make change. Everyone can be part of the WE movement: youth, families and employees. We provide them with resources and a menu of simple, meaningful actions to impact their communities and support good causes. Together we can shift the world from “me” to “we.”
