PLA FILAMENT

PLA

Extruder Temp

215° - 235° C

Advantages • PLA filament is the most common type of 3D printer filament used. • PLA 3D printer filament is the most environment-friendly 3D filament solution. • Because of its low toxicity, PLA filament is a very popular choice in the 3D printing community. PLA filament is a thermoplastic polymer made strictly from renewable resources. Poly Lactic Acid (PLA), is generated from biodegradable material like cornstarch, potato starch, sugarcane and tapioca roots, and has a smooth, shiny appearance. PLA filament is popular for its ease of use, natural ability to break down and superior print detail capabilities.

PETG FILAMENT

PETG

Extruder Temp

280° - 310° C

Advantages • Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol has amazing thermoforming characteristics, meaning it is easily heated and formed to specific molds. • PETG plastic is less likely to shrink or warp. • Often used when transparency is important because of its glass-like quality. PETG filament, also known as Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol, is a co-polyester known for its durability and ease of use. The G in PETG, stands for glycol-modified, which makes the end product clear, having glass-like visual properties. It is often described as the “best of both worlds” because it has the rigidity and mechanical properties of ABS but is still easy to print like PLA.

ABS FILAMENT

ABS

Extruder Temp

230° - 250° C

Advantages • Extremely durable thermoplastic. It is commonly used in rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing environments to test product impact resistance and durability. • Strong electrical insulation properties. • ABS filament’s properties of higher temperature resistance, flexibility, machinability and strength make it a preference for engineers and others where mechanical uses are important. • Parts made from ABS can be processed with acetone, for a smooth, shiny finish. ABS filament is one of the most common materials used in 3D printing today. ABS, or Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, is a thermoplastic that is easily molded when heated and hardens evenly when cooled. Because it can take many forms and maintains its quality, ABS filament is used in traditional manufacturing in a variety of industries, as well as by 3D printing hobbyists.
