Foot Valves and Dyneema

Our Foot Valves come in a variety of sizes and can make very powerful pumping systems capable of sampling to great depths. These pumps, using no electrical components are useful if you have to sample in an intrinsically safe way. Stainless steel foot valves are re-usable as they can be cleaned in a dishwasher making them more cost effective than plastic valves which cannot be effectively cleaned, so could cause sample contamination if re-used. Our Dyneema rope is the material of choice when it comes to deploying level loggers. It is strong, light weight, floats in water, water resistant, chemically inert, non-stretch and highly durable.

Sample Tubes and Geosorb Socks

We supply replacement tubes for our sediment samplers and bladder pumps. All are hallmarked as being free from contaminants and available individually in 1 metre lengths for the samplers and in two different lengths for Bladder pumps. Our Geosorb Socks are designed to recover hydrocarbons. They are lowered down a well in a stainless steel screened cage where they passively absorb product. They are available in a variety of sizes.

Filters and Buffer Solutions On site in-line filtration is required when sampling or monitoring groundwater for contamination and metals. Our In-Line Filters are available in micron Size 0.45 μ with an effective filter area 700 cm 2 (High Capacity), 350 cm 2 (Medium Capacity), 20 cm 2 (Low Capacity). All our filters are hallmarked and the larger filters have been quality tested for over 100 parameters. Van Walt supplies hallmarked, well priced Calibration Buffers for calibrating and checking water quality meters.

They are manufactured from hallmarked HDPE and weighted for ease of use. A Certificate of Cleanliness is available as an example of the strict and secure leaching procedures adopted by our manufacturers. The Stainless Steel reusable Bailer is easy to de-contaminate, strong and weighted so sinks quickly. Being better for the environment they are an ecologically sound investment for sample retrieval.
