Introducing Puzzled Peace

Our Mission

Puzzled Peace is an experience organization and Douglas County leader in providing high quality/research-based Autism and behavioral services in the following ways: ► Building strong relationships with our clients and their families ► Contracting a highly trained and skilled support team with the ability to facilitate the needs of campers ► Master’s Degree in teaching specializing in students with ASD and highly proficient in facilitating ABA tools

To provide love, care, equity, and access for underserved young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families that are trying to find peace in the puzzle of life.

3

Our Pilot

The Autism Sports and Crafts Summer Camp is a pilot program for Puzzled Peace in an attempt to provide a loving, safe and fun environment for individuals with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.

4

The Autism Sports and Crafts Summer Camp will be one of very few outlets for the population we serve during summer and it will include current DCSS High School students and individuals that have aged out of high school and have few options they can trust for care. To provide love, care, equity, and access for underserved young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families that are trying to find peace in the puzzle of life.

Puzzled Peace is pleased to submit this proposal for services to support The Autism Sports and Crafts Summer Camp in achieving its goals according to the Puzzled Peace Playbook: ► Sportsmanship, ► Following Instructions, ► Respecting Others, ► Teamwork, ► Communication and Socialization. This camp is designed or individuals with AU/ID to have fun, get some exercise and socialize with peers as they are equipped with life skills that can be generalized to the home and community setting.

5

Execution Strategy

► Our execution strategy incorporates research-based methodologies, qualified personnel, and a highly responsive approach to providing accommodations and support. ► We will have a lesson planned for each day of camp about the activity for that day. ► After the lesson, we will apply the knowledge by practicing the skill during after the lesson, scaffolding students and providing the appropriate support allowing campers to participate with as much independence as possible to produce the desired outcome.

Goals

Provide a safe, loving and fun environment for campers with AU/ID

Participate in daily sports activities for exercise and sportsmanship

Promote socialization through craft activities and small group functional skills development

6

Puzzled Peace Vision Casting – Think Big, Start Small, Grow Fast To become a training facility that teaches new service providers how to effectively provide compassionate and collaborative treatment and education programming that offers support and solutions to families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder, especially those families whose loved one(s) are classified as “severe” in maladaptive behaviors. Making a large impact with students with autism and through sports with young men and young ladies

7

Puzzled Peace Vision Casting – Think Big, Start Small, Grow Fast START SMALL Short Term - End of May 2021

Actively searching for space (purchase - maybe $100k) or leasing - make a good investment Taking classes to become a provider to bill medicare directly

Provide respite care by the summer

8

Puzzled Peace Vision Casting – Think Big, Start Small, Grow Fast

GROW FAST Medium Term - May 2023

Growing the number of students in athletics and autism

Training capability to accomodate growing interest

9

Target Client Profile

Our target populations are young adults who have aged out of the public school system and are in need of continued support and services. The families that would most likely use our services are families that believe in that values that Puzzled Piece hold in ensuring that our staff leads with love and care These families would have access and knowledge of Educational Intervention Plan (EIPs), Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs), Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Individualized Service/Support Plans (ISPs) Target families would have a willingness to learn and implement educational and learning strategies in-home while reinforcing strategies and techniques offered at camp These families and consumers continue in services with Puzzled Piece because of the rapport established while their learners/ athletes were engaged in public educational institutions

Families and learners/athletes desire a sense of normative experiences; in which Puzzled Piece offers a platform in which individuals typically identified with a “special need” are treated with respect and valued for not just their current abilities, but for the abilities that will be discovered and nurtured through the camp experience.
