Over the course of our history we have had the privilege of serving nearly 4,000 clients throughout the Delmarva Peninsula and Mid-Atlantic region on a wide variety of project types and sizes. MUNICIPAL DBF offers regular assistance to municipal and governmental clients throughout Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. COASTAL Coastal engineering is a specialized discipline dealing with the evaluation of wind, tide levels, currents and waves and their impact on protected and unprotected shorelines, marinas and harbors. These forces can be extremely destructive and can inflict significant damage. DBF is uniquely qualified to provide these services based on numerous years of practical experience using state-of-the-art design. These tools enable our firm to evaluate the complex interactions of marine/coastal influences, and to plan and design functional and cost-effective projects to protect from these challenges. STRUCTURAL DBF’s structural engineers working directly with other civil engineers, architects, landscape architects and surveyors has proved to be invaluable when designing structures to withstand the rigors of a coastal environment while providing cost-effective practical solutions. The success of our structural engineering department is based upon unique experience with a wide variety of projects. Structural expertise has been established for the design of steel buildings and structures of timber frame construction; reinforced masonry structures; reinforced concrete tanks, bridges and foundations; pile foundations; as well as vehicular and pedestrian bridges. Structural evaluations, too, are critical following natural disaster, fire and other impactful occurrences, and DBF is prepared to provide such on-site services under these circumstances. Several within the firm are certified Building Evaluators in the Safety Assessment Program by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), recognized nationally as a post-disaster responder program.
