“YOU REALLY CAN’T AFFORD NOT TO INVEST IN JOINT TREATMENT! ”
Discussing Joint Pain & Relief
The knee joint is the second most complicated joint in the body and has to move in many directions including forward, backward, side to side and rotation. These different movements are called accessory motions and are needed for normal walking, running and bending. When you experience pain in the side of the hip, groin, thigh or knee, you may have difficulty with these accessory motions. Prolonged sitting, injuries, arthritis and disease can affect accessory motions. With every day use, tissues around the hip and knee joints tighten, leading to a gradual loss of motion. This causes a lot of pressure to build up on specific parts of the joints. When Your Motion is Lost When you lose the movement of the hip, knee or ankle joints, your muscles have to take on the abnormal strain. This leads to common aches and pains experienced by millions of people. Many people feel that
medication will help solve their hip, knee or leg pain. While medication can help to decrease inflammation and pain, it cannot address the root cause of the problem. Most pain in the hip, thigh, knee or leg comes from poor flexibility, strength or coordination. Treating Leg Pain To determine the source of your leg pain our physical therapists examine your walking, squatting, joint movement, comparing the strength and mobility of the joints. A comprehensive treatment plan, including special hands on techniques, is made to achieve the fastest relief and the longest lasting results. If you are suffering with hip, knee or leg pain, call us today to learn more how we can eliminate your pain and put a spring back in your step! The beauty in this stretch is that it hits the front of the foot, ankles, shins, quads and knees. How it’s done: Sit on a standard chair sideways with your right side facing out and feet flat on the floor. Balance on the chair on your left buttock so that your right leg is outside of the chair leg. Hold the back of the chair with your left hand. Bend your right leg and grab onto your ankle with your right hand. Pull your heel back toward your butt, until your knee is pointed down at the floor. Hold the stretch for 10 to 20 seconds, then repeat on the other side. STEM CELL THERAPY
This newmedical treatment utilizes the body’s inherent recuperative properties to assist in the healing and repair of damaged tissue. Stem cells contain substances that alert the body to heal, repair and regenerate damaged cells. WHO IS A CANDIDATE? Patients with various medical conditions may benefit. At Advanced Wellness, we focus on the regeneration of degenerated and arthritic joints including knees, hips and shoulders. HOW ARE STEM CELLS COLLECTED? The stem cells used at Advanced Wellness are procured through an FDA regulated company that collects cells from cord blood donated by consenting pregnant mothers which are harvested at birth. (They are NOT taken from aborted fetuses.) Every donor is subjected to comprehensive infectious disease panel screenings which surpass federal and industry standards; thereby ensuring a safe end product. In order to ensure a high quality product, the company goes above and beyond industry standards to test each lot in production for cell viability and the presence of growth factors. They will not release any lot for use that does not meet these rigid standards. HOW IS THE PROCEDURE PERFORMED? The procedure is very safe. We utilize either x-ray or ultrasound guidance to locate the exact placement of the needle to ensure that the cells are injected into the proper location. The cells are then Part Of An Amazing Medical Breakthrough In the Past 10 Years Called Regenerative Medicine
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE AND HOW LONG IS RECOVERY? The procedure itself takes less than 30 minutes to perform. There is little or no downtime following your procedure. On the day of the procedure you may not drive. You will also be advised not to lift heavy objects or engage in strenuous activity for eight weeks post procedure as the injected stem cells are working hard to regenerate your damaged tissue. In addition, you will undergo physical therapy following the procedure to assist in your rehabilitation and strengthen the treated area. WHAT IS THE SUCCESS RATE? Like any other medical procedure, there is no 100% guarantee. Our comprehensive approach and careful choice selection of candidates makes our success rates extremely high. IS THE PROCEDURE COVERED BY INSURANCE? Unfortunately health insurance does not cover the procedure at this time. Cost ranges from $5,000 to $7,000 per injection.
