THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME New Year, New You

With the new year comes new goals and a fresh outlook on life. Like many people, you are thinking about what you want to accomplish this year. You are setting resolutions and creating a game plan. It’s time for a new you in 2018! Every year, one of the top New Year’s resolutions is a smile makeover. Some people set their sights on whiter, brighter teeth. Others think about corrective or restorative options. No matter the goal, I’ve helped so many of our patients realize their dreams. Looking ahead, I’m excited to help more people accomplish their goals and to share my expertise as they reinvent themselves in the new year. I have no doubt 2018 is going to be incredible. Last month, I told you about the debut of Oral Essentials’ brand-new whitening strips. In the months since their release, I have heard nothing but rave reviews from everyone who’s tried them. They are a hit! People have noticed the contrast between Oral Essentials whitening strips and the strips they’ve used in the past. The days of sensitivity are gone. When it comes to teeth whitening and oral care in general, reducing sensitivity can make a significant difference in people’s lives. Sensitivity is a common issue. Sometimes, people will avoid everyday oral hygiene due to heightened sensitivity. This can lead to more serious issues, not to mention worsened sensitivity. One of my goals,

in the past and looking forward, is to do what I can to eliminate the discomfort that comes with tooth and gum sensitivity, as well as the discomfort associated with just about every dental treatment. This year, I’ll be continuing my focus on techniques and products that reduce or eliminate pain and discomfort. I’m also working on better and faster dental techniques. I know how much your time means to you and to all of our patients. If I can find a method that allows me to make a difference in a shorter amount of time, you can be sure I’ll implement it. When you couple new techniques with new technologies, you are left with a recipe for something incredible — something I know our patients will love. I can tell you much more will be coming to fruition in 2018 and beyond. Another goal for the new year is to continue to develop and debut new oral care products as part of the Oral Essentials line. There is a great need for products that use safe and naturally-derived ingredients and won’t cause harmful reactions. I hope your new year is off to a great start. I’m excited to see where 2018 takes us, and I look forward to helping you achieve your smile makeover goals.

NEWYEAR, NEW TECH! 3 of 2018’s Most Futuristic Gadgets

Along with a collection of short-lived resolutions, each new year brings a staggering array of wild technology. Here are a few of the coolest new gadgets predicted to hit the scene in 2018. A Microwave That Doubles as a Flash Fridge For a couple of years now, the Spanish-Korean company Frigondas has been developing a microwave that, in addition to perfectly warming up your leftovers, comes equipped with the ability to rapidly cool down foods. Not only can you use it to freeze fresh foods for later use, but you can toss a beer inside and let it chill in just a couple of minutes. A ‘Hybrid Reality Environment’ From Science Fiction Composed of 72 LCD panels, a 20-speaker immersive surround sound system, and an optical motion tracking system powered by 10 separate cameras, Cave2 is half virtual reality, half insanely futuristic whiteboard. After donning a pair of 3-D glasses, users, namely scientists and engineers, can fully immerse themselves in whatever they want, whether it’s a visualization of >Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4
