Find Your Passions When I was younger, I would think "When I grow up, I'm going to __________ ". Also comment on the effort you put in to pursue that ambition. Own a business. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. When I was 10 I started a lawn care business in my grandparent's neighborhood. When I turned 13 I launched a pressure washing service for homes. In my junior year of high school, I launched a car audio business that I ran until my junior year of college. While in college I launched a personal chef/catering business and ran as a side business until 2011. For all of my past ventures, I would observe what others were doing and then research how to do it, then figure a way to raise capital to launch the business.

In my career, I once had an assignment or project that afterwards, I thought "If I could have a career focused on this, I would be completely fulfilled and in my zone." What was that experience? I had the opportunity to develop a graduate course curriculum while at Hilton and taught the course at the University of Houston. It was focused on the Innovation process my team used for product development. I developed design thinking activities and used our core methodologies to create a program used to help Hilton crowdsource new ideas from graduate students and recruit them from their hospitality school.

If I all of a sudden realized I had unexpected free time to put in work on something, I would use the time to _________________ . Developing my next business idea. I would pull from previous experiences and focus on creating a strategy that would produce a sustainable business. I would conduct rapid prototyping and market validation exercises to help shape my business model plan.

If you know me well, you would likely know that I REALLY love to work on _______________. developing new concepts. Learning product development and service development processes. Learning design thinking principles.

The topic that I have built the most expertise on my own drive, interest and work is _________________. I am not sure if this is the right answer, but I would say being empathic. I often reflect on my personal and work relationships and take into account how my actions will impact others. I have applied this to my work by always taking into consideration the end-user experience when developing a new product or service.

If a television network called and said "We'd like to feature you in a how-to TV show, what would you like it to be about?" What would you suggest___________. The show would be about having an elder sit and talk with a younger teenager and teach them how to cook a special dish that the elder enjoyed growing up. During the show, they would discuss the most important lessons the elder has learned through life. I would invest in scouting for the elders to be on the show along with their younger co-star. I would also invest in helping create the talking points and cooking plan to help make the show organic and authentic.

If I needed to give someone something that best demonstrated to them what I love to do, it would be __________. whiteboard and dry erase markers.

My greatest sense of accomplishment and fulfillment came after I ____________. Describe the effort required to achieve this accomplishment. graduated from college. I believe went through a lot to handle losing my mother and becoming the legal guardian of my younger sister while I completed my last two years of school.

If I didn't have to worry about money or other obligations, and could do something I REALLY enjoyed and could do over and over and never grow tired, I would ____________. creating and running a restaurant that moves throughout the world making new dishes. I would change and adapt the menu to each location and learn new dishes.

As you review your responses above, are there up to recurring themes that we can take away from this exercise as a summary of your passions? What would they be? List up to 3 (if possible, in order of intensity) 1. Helping others, 2. Making new things, 3. Being creative
