United Label’s facility currently operates four conventional flexographic presses ranging in width from 7 inches to 10 inches and up to 8-color capabilities. Over the next 18 months, Jet Label will be adding new machinery and, as needed, addi- tional personnel.

Rotoflex Brings Manufacturing To Canada Following the 2016 move of Rotoflex’s Canadian re- gional office to a larger, new 18,000-square-foot show- room and technology center near Toronto, Ontario, full production of new Rotoflex slitter/rewinders and diecutting machines, formerly managed at the Mark Andy headquarters location near St Louis, Missouri, has now transferred to Toronto as well. Continued sales growth over several years of Rotoflex’s offline finishing solutions, including the newly launched HSI, Vericut3 and Security Series led to this expansion of the Canadi- an facility.The manufacturing capacity at Mark Andy re- sulting from the move will accommodate the company’s growth in the digital market, supporting de- mand for its growing digital hybrid portfolio including the production-level Digital Series, entry-level solution Digital One, and the Digital Plus program, which offers digital retrofits to existing flexo platforms. Esko XPS Crystal Wins 2017 PIA InterTech Award The XPS Crystal flexo plate exposure unit from Esko has received the Printing Industries of America (PIA) InterTech Technology Award. Since 1978, the In- terTechTechnology Awards have honored the develop- ment of technologies predicted to have a major impact on the graphic communications and related in- dustries.The new XPS Crystal, part of a complete auto- mated platemaking system, is a digitally controlled LED UV exposure unit, providing nearly simultaneous main and back exposures and supports all photopoly- mer flexo plates. Rotocontrol Merges With EMT International Rotocontrol, a manufacturer of label slitter/rewinder inspection and finishing machines, has merged with EMT International, a manufacturer of custom and standardized finishing equipment and accessories for narrow and wider-web digital and conventional print, headquartered near Green Bay,Wisconsin. In the agreement with EMT International, the de- sign and manufacturing of Rotocontrol finishing ma- chines will continue at Rotocontrol headquarters in Linau, Germany, while shared production with EMT International is planned for early third quarter of this year. Sales and service of Rotocontrol machines will remain available from Linau headquarters and Roto- control network of agents.The addition of EMT Inter- national sales and 24x7 service from its headquarters in Green Bay,Wisconsin, will reportedly enhance Ro- tocontrol support in North America.
