Sleeve Labels Market Expands

The sleeve label market is showing annual gains of 5.2 percent from $10.6 billion in 2016, according to a new report from Persistent Market Research (PMR). The growing de- mand for beverage and packaged food will drive advances in the in- dustry, the report said. Emerging Solution Within the new PMR report, the sleeve label category is split into six sections, based on the product type, end-users, material type, printing technology, printing ink type and re- gions. Among product type, shrink labels are more prominent than stretch labels due to its wide appli- cations in consumer goods. Based on end-use, food & beverage seg- ment stand out among all segments owing to the rising demand for packaged foods. sleeves. The sleeve labels are estimated to be the fastest growing labeling segment throughout the forecast period, driven by factors such as brand iden- tity, visual on-shelf appeal and cost efficiency. Flexo Leads The Way Flexography is expected to be the most preferred printing technology among sleeve label manufacturers. Asia-Pacific is expected to dominate the sleeve la- bels market registering a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 6.2 percent. This trend is attributed to the mounting demand for beverage and packaged food China, India and ASEAN countries. Furthermore, growth in manufacturing sector and increased con- sumer spending power are the key drivers of sleeve labels in this region. North America, though a developed market with mul- tiple market players, is expected to gain momentum in the later phase of the forecast period with future in- vestments in the manufacturing sectors. Mature market of Europe is anticipated to witness uneven growth throughout the forecast period. Moreover, Latin Ameri- ca and MEA sleeve labels markets are expected to regis- ter sluggish growth, all over the forecast period.

Packaging Coatings Market To Grow 1.9 Percent Through 2020, the market for packaging coatings is expected to increase 1.9 percent per year to 60 mil- lion gallons, according to a new report from The Freedonia Group. Gains will represent a strong accel- eration in growth compared with the 2010-2015 per- formance, in which demand was nearly flat. Demand for packaging coatings will match gains in packaging shipments through 2020, although coating requirements will be limited to some degree by the utilization of more efficient coatings and application technologies. However, coatings demand will benefit from healthy growth in paper packaging shipments.
