IS STRESS CAUSING YOUR NECK PAIN? WE CAN HELP YOU FIND RELIEF!

Stress-induced neck pain isn’t rare. It also isn’t psychological. Many experts think stress-induced neck pain is caused by physical factors — low, but constant, trapezius muscle activity. If your neck pain starts at the base of your shoulders, traveling upward, it may be stress related. Causes of Stress-Related Neck Pain While stress alone can trigger neck pain, a few factors can make it worse. Office environments tend to create neck pain problems — as they confine people to chairs, bad posture, and little mobility. Driving often, too, can make your chances of stress-related neck pain higher. Even if it’s caused by stress, untreated neck pain might later reveal muscle spasms, arthritis, bulging discs, or even narrowed spinal nerve openings. Contact our nearest location today or visit our website online at www.FoundationPhysio.com to find out more about how we can help you find relief!

Is Stress Causing Your Neck Pain? Does your neck hurt? You might be suffering from stress-related pain — also called a tension headache. During anxiety, muscles tense up. As muscle tension tightens, the back, shoulders, and neck are affected. The more pressure they cause, the more discomfort you get. Let’s take a closer look at stress-related neck pain. Is My Neck Pain Caused by Stress? Pain worsened by keeping your head in one place — like when you’re driving, or using a computer — is neck pain. While neck pain has a slew of symptoms, its major symptoms, reported by Mayo Clinic, are: • Muscle tightness and spasms • Headaches • Decreased ability to move the head

PATIENT SPOTLIGHTS

“Not only is the front staff nice and welcoming, the therapists there are knowledgeable, professional, and very competent. I worked with Dr. Ryan Albert for my chiropractic care and was very satisfied with his approach to my neck pain and his treatment plan. His multifaceted approach with exercises, physical manipulation, and acupuncture allowed me to become pain-free in a few weeks. I would recommend Dr. Albert to everyone, especially those skeptical of chiropractic care for their pain management.” – M. A. 5 Star Google Review His multifaceted approach with exercises, physical manipulation, and acupuncture allowed me to become pain-free in a few weeks.

REBUILD YOURSELF

HOW PHYSIOTHERAPY RELIEVES PAIN Neck pain, fortunately, can be alleviated with physiotherapy. Because neck pain is often caused by activity, different activity can cure it. Sometimes, this “activity” means “no activity.” Before you contact a professional, try reducing your neck movements. Sometimes, simply letting your neck muscles relax is enough. If you don’t see relief within two weeks, contact a professional. Physiotherapists can target your pain’s source by examining your symptoms. Then, they can offer exercises that stretch, flex, and relax your neck muscles. In time, your neck will become more resilient — giving you the comfort you deserve. Where aftercare treatment is considered, custom-tailored neck exercises will assure your neck stays loose, limber, and healthy. If you’re dealing with neck pain, you’re not alone. Call our office today, and schedule an assessment. Even if your neck pain is caused by stress, it still needs attention. We’ll work side by side with your goals, creating the proactive, effective programs you need to achieve mobility once more.

WANT MORE GREAT CONTENT?

Dr . Ryan i s a chi ropractor and acupuncture provider who holds a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic Col lege having graduated cum laude in 2017. He completed his certification in Contemporary Medical Chiropractor: Corktown & Downtown

Acupuncture from McMaster University in 2016. Ryan also holds an Honors Bachelor degree from McMaster University in Biology with a minor in Psychology. In between post- secondary degrees, Ryan spent three years working at the University Health Network’s intensive care units facilitating research in critical care medicine. In this time, he had an opportunity to observe and appreciate the incredible efforts of the inter-professional health care system. After a positive experience with a local clinician, Ryan realized chiropractic was the perfect fit for him. It encompassed his admiration for the intricacies of the human body, his love for educating others on health and well being as well as his desire to help others and create a positive impact in their lives. Ryan’s goals in practice are two-fold: The first is to help others achieve a greater state of health and admiration for their bodies than they are currently experiencing. The second is to educate and promote on the concept of proactivity, in other words, making positive or necessary changes before crisis strikes. Ryan is a strong advocate for anything that gets people active and out of their sedentary lifestyles. In his spare time, he enjoys resistance training, boxing, playing volleyball, skiing (snow & water) and any activity outdoors. She found it amazing to help her patient reach their goals after such a catastrophic injury. When not helping clients, Katja loves to stay active by going to yoga, the gym, or for a hike. She also loves visiting and hanging out with her family and friends. Soccer is her favorite sport to play and Track and Field is her favorite sport to watch.
