THE GIFT OF A SLEEP DIVORCE IS YOUR SLEEP HYGIENE CAUSING ISSUES IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP?
Your significant other may be a heavy sleeper, while the slightest thing may wake you. You may be restless in bed, while they hardly move at all. These are essential factors to consider because anything that wakes you up at night will affect you during the next day. If arguments over who woke the other up are a staple in your morning routine, a sleep divorce could be a great option for you and your significant other. These kinds of arguments can lead to resentment and fester into even bigger problems. A sleep divorce will give you a good night’s rest and enable you to deal with those stressful situations head-on. These conversations are also a great time to talk about your significant other’s sleep hygiene. This does not mean they're dirty; rather, you may have noticed substantial issues in their sleep patterns. Some signs of poor sleep hygiene include daytime sleepiness and difficulty falling asleep. If you or your partner do suffer from poor sleep hygiene, there are some simple ways to improve sleeping habits. If you take frequent naps during the day, limit them to 30 minutes max. If you’re an avid coffee drinker, make your cut off noon. Drinking caffeine in the afternoon or evening can make it harder to fall sleep. Exercising and establishing a regular bedtime are also simple ways You and your partner are having relationship issues.
With the holidays right around the corner, you may be searching for the perfect gift for your significant other. What about a sleep divorce? It’s not an actual divorce, but rather a separation of sleeping spaces. It’s more common than you think. A recent study by Mattress Clarity revealed that almost 40% of people would prefer to sleep in separate beds than their spouses. There is no malice associated with a sleep divorce. Some people have drastically different sleeping habits that can keep their partners up at night, and when someone doesn’t get an adequate amount of sleep, it can significantly impact their well-being. If you’re wondering about a sleep divorce, here are three signs it could be just the thing for you. Your mental health is declining. This could start out as grogginess or excessive irritability, but it can develop into an inability to concentrate, a lack of motivation, forgetfulness, being more accident-prone, and getting sick easily. Not only are these symptoms common, but severe mental health issues and cardiovascular disease are also closely related to sleep deprivation. You have different sleep needs and habits. Everyone has different needs, and that’s okay. Some people may need noise in the background to fall asleep while others require a quiet environment.

Unlike in America, holiday orders in the country come with chocolate cake, roasted chicken with stuffing, and even bottles of Christmas wine emblazoned with Colonel Sanders’ face. SWEDEN: SAFFRON BUNS According to Delish, Swedish tradition “dictates that the eldest daughter dress in a white gown tied with a red sash and a crown of lit candles, then wake her parents with hot coffee and a tray of saffron buns.” Swedes also feast on a casserole called Jansson’s Temptation made with potatoes, onions, anchovies, and cream.

Maybe you love the majesty of a winter’s morning, or maybe you just hate the treadmill. Whatever your reason is for wanting to run or jog outside in the dead of winter, remember to take the proper precautions before stepping out. Runners face challenges during the winter that they don’t face any other time of year. If you want to experience the winter safely, there are a few things to keep in mind. WARM UP INSIDE FIRST. If you’re planning on braving the snow and frigid temperatures, try to spend 10–15 minutes warming up before you walk out your front door. Cold weather naturally tightens muscles and joints, so stretching your limbs in a heated environment is a good way to ensure maximum comfort and minimum risk of injury when you’re running in the cold. Celebrations of Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa vary from country to country, but there is one thing that unites holiday parties around the world: food. • Kosher salt • 3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil • 1 cup balsamic vinegar • 1/4 cup brown sugar • Parsley leaves, for garnish
• 1 large head cauliflower • 2 cups Roma tomatoes • 1 red onion, quartered • 1/2 lb green beans, ends trimmed

If you find yourself feeling blue as the days become shorter and darker, know there are things you can do to boost your mood until spring returns. GET SOME SUN Exposure to sunlight is also significantly beneficial for people suffering from SAD. Sunlight helps your body produce adequate amounts of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that contributes to feelings of well-being
and happiness. Getting just a few minutes of sunlight a day through a walk or short jog can make all the difference. If you live in an area where the winters are bleak, cloudy, and dark, sunlight can be harder to come by. But technology has you covered: You can purchase “sun lamps,” which simulate sunlight without the damaging UV rays. Just set up a sun lamp in your workspace or living area and feel your mood lift. MAINTAIN YOUR ROUTINE Often, it can be difficult to stick with your daily routine during the cooler
