auctions, we have adapted by launching a monthly Live Online Auction service – an interactive platform for Buying and Selling all types of land and property.

A Live online auction has all the benefits of a traditional auction such as speed and transparency but with the advantage of being able to bid from anywhere with the auction streamed live on the Hollis Morgan website and the option to bid by telephone, proxy or online. Since 2020 we have sold nearly 350 lots by this updated method – we have embraced this change and move forward with our 2022 live online calendar of sales confident we can provide the best service for our clients.

Auctions offer a wide range of different and exciting property opportunities – why not see what is on offer? It may seem a daunting process but if you follow these guidelines it is a very straightforward and enjoyable process.

Digital Copies of the Online legal pack can be downloaded Free of Charge 24/7 from the Hollis Morgan Website. For the first visit you will be required to register simply with your email and a password. Having set up your account you can download legal packs or if they are not yet available they will automatically be sent to you when we receive them. You will be automatically updated by email if any new information is added. ***STAY UPDATED*** By registering for the legal pack we can ensure you are kept updated on any changes to this Lot in the build up to the sale.

How do I find out about new properties? Join our mailing list by either calling the office or register on our website. Each property is allocated a Lot Number and you will be able to review information including the Guide price, full address, and download any planning information or rental appraisals from the online legal pack. How do I book a viewing? Select the Lot you are interested in and submit a viewing request online. Hollis Morgan would be grateful if you could arrive promptly to inspect the properties at the start of the agreed time as we have scheduled viewings throughout the day and cannot wait for late arrivals. There are likely to be viewings on the property before and after your appointment and if you miss your slot ( usually 15 minutes ) you may be asked to wait until the next available time. You may be asked to wait outside before it is safe to enter – please understand and respect this request.

Can I watch the auction even if I am not bidding?

On the day of the auction, you will need to visit https://www.hollismorgan.co.uk/ auctions/ and click on 'Watch Live Auction' for the auction that you intend to bid on. Those using telephone and proxy bids can now watch the auction and we will contact you prior to your lot being offered.

ON AUCTION DAY CLICK ON WATCH LIVE AUCTION

The auctioneer will call the bidding 3 times before the fall of the gavel and if you are the successful purchaser the auctioneer will contact you to confirm the next steps. For online bidders you will be shown a welcome screen – click the 'Sign In' button within the 'Online Bidder' section. A 'Place Bid' button will be available only on the lots that you have registered to bid on. If you place a bid online, a message will show whether or not your bid was successful.

Having been brought up in the coastal town of Clevedon his family moved to central Bristol in the early 90’s where with his two brothers he attended Clifton College. After a gap year he worked as a swimming pool salesman in Oxford before moving to Cardiff to complete a Marketing Degree before moving back to Bristol to start his career in property. Olly is our Auction Valuer and relishes the variety this role offers with the range of properties, from garages to castles, to the diversity of clients priding himself on giving consistent advice to private individuals, local authorities, housing associations and seasoned property developers alike – each day is a different challenge and is what makes this “job” so much fun! Calum has worked in agency since 2009 joining Hollis Morgan as a sales negotiator in 2012, he quickly progressed to head up the Residential Sales Team and was fundamental in the launch of our New Homes department and became a Director in May 2021. George joined the Hollis Morgan team as a Sales Negotiator in the Summer of 2016 after graduating from university and hit the ground running! He has proven himself an excellent agent and has developed his own unique blend of charm and professionalism as a Valuer and became an associate director in May 2021.

Andrew has spent his entire career in property . He is now, undoubtedly, one of the most respected and well known estate agents and auctioneers in the region. Practising mainly in the residential market through changing economic times he has also witnessed the phenomenal expansion and development of Bristol into one of the UK’s most desirable and vibrant cities. His knowledge, therefore, of all the factors influencing the west country market is invaluable to Hollis Morgan, now well established as one of the fastest growing estate agencies and the region’s largest auctioneers.Throughout his career he has been in huge demand as a charity auctioneer bringing humour and fund raising skills to a plethora of social events. These events have taken him from “Highgrove” to The British Embassy in Rome and a myriad of places in between raising thousands of pounds. For this extraordinary achievement he was awarded the MBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2013. Apart from the business life of Bristol he has also enjoyed being involved in many charities and served in different capacities on many committees. He also enjoys the rich cultural life offered in the city. Olly has worked in Estate Agency since 2003, beginning his career as Andrew’s junior negotiator (Tea Boy!) at a local independent firm before moving on to auction assistant and eventually running the sales department. Danielle joined Hollis Morgan in 2022 seeking a career change and has quickly become a popular and integral part of the residential sales team. Danielle is responsible for viewings and client feedback in both the sales team and the new homes department. Originally from France, Karine was brought up on the edge of Brittany , in her beloved city of Nantes. Further to completing a degree in Foreign Languages and Education, Karine moved to Bristol to teach French. She then worked in the airline industry until succumbing to her love for properties. She worked as Senior Letting Negotiator for a couple of Letting Agencies in Clifton until joining Hollis Morgan in September 2017. Nick is a Gloucestershire boy and studied for a Property Management & Investment Degree at UWE . He followed his traditional family career into the property industry, joining the Hollis Morgan auction team in 2012. Nick has a wide geographical knowledge and was promoted to senior auction negotiator in 2022 and is responsible for pre auction offers and vendor feedback. Sarah joined us in 2014 and coordinates the day to day running of our business , she has lived in Bristol for nearly 30 years and worked previously for Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Service. Sarah joined us from a HR & Employment law company and using this experience is responsible for all aspects of compliance, auction legal packs, bidding registration and liaising with vendor solicitors and is a vital cog in ensuring that auction lots are able to be sold.

Lucinda started her property career in 2006 as a weekend negotiator for an Independent Estate Agent . After graduating from uni and having her first child she returned to work full time in the Westbury on Trym branch. Working her way up she passed all of her property exams and qualified as a member of The National Association of Estate Agents, The Association of Residential Letting Agents and The Association of Professional Inventory Providers – a genuine triple threat! Josh moved to Bristol in November 2020 following his studies and has been gaining valuable experience in property lettings, joining Hollis Morgan in July 2021 as a member of the auction team responsible for hosting viewings, providing client feedback and revolutionising our approach to video tour! Noah has a life long interest in property, despite studying Sport & Exercise Science at university he has seen the light and is looking forward to learning new skills and gaining experience in Estate Agency and the world of Auctions with Hollis Morgan as the latest addition to our team. Noah will be taking up the role of auction negotiator in March 2022 where he will be responsible for auction viewings across the region. Sue is an experienced property lawyer, having practised in Bristol and North Somerset for over 20 years . After taking a short retirement break in 2021 she joined Hollis Morgan in 2022, acting as our In House Lawyer where we rely on her wealth of experience. She provides the crucial role of supervising auction contracts, post sale administration and liaising with buyers solicitors.

hollis morgan | the results speak for themselves Reasons to be thankful… On recently switching on the radio I was struck by hearing a school teacher say that he had asked his pupils to write a list of all the things they were grateful for in 2021. He was overwhelmed with their replies. As an auctioneer it suddenly made me realise that I also had a lot for which to be hugely thankful. As soon as lockdown occurred I should have been downcast as, in theory, this could have been the end of a career that I understood and enjoyed. What a potential disaster and an ignominious end for a well-known and respected auctioneer. ‘Au contraire‘: an instant switch to “live online auctions” marked a renaissance in the way I conducted auctions which was certainly more 21st century you might say. Now understood and loved by the public, this way of buying and selling has certainly proved, not only for me, but also for the bidding public a less stressful, professional and more relaxed way of operating. With potential buyers able to bid “live online”, on the telephone or by leaving a Proxy Bid there is very strong evidence that, being able to bid from the comfort and privacy of wherever they happen to be, encourages record sale prices. Last years figures prove my point. As for me, operating from the safety of the familiar surroundings of our Auction HQ in Clifton, the adrenalin still flows as the clock moves to 6.00pm, and, as the auction team get into position and as the bids appear on the screen the excitement permeates the whole assembled company. Covid forcefully sent us into an enclosed world, technology propelled us into an exciting more productive 21st way of operating. Yes, I certainly have a great deal for which to be thankful as Hollis Morgan welcomes 2022. For all of us it's been another year of change and discovery
