How to encourage good behaviour with dog treats
MEET THE PACK! We are Renee, Claire and Gus and we love celebrating dogs! We are Sydney's premier dog party planners PLUS, we have created an online store filled with fun, unique and must have dog toys, high quality treats and products for all sizes, breeds and ages of our canine furriends.
THANK YOU! Thanks for downloading, "How To Reinforce Good Behaviour With Dog Treats" When we adopted Gus into our family 5 years ago we had no idea that training would become an ongoing process in our lives. We were under the impression that once he was trained that it was done! Well, we quickly learned that training never ends, It is an ongoing process that continues today. We also learned that Gus was food-motivated which definitely helped, but not every treat is created equal. So, after much personal study and experience, we created this resource with high value dog treats vs low value treats that worked for Gus during training sessions.
Enjoy this downloadable resource to help you during your training sessions with your furbaby - and good luck! A well-trained dog is a happy dog!

Dog Treat=Payday
Training your dog with treats is a great way to build a bond with your dog and it also helps to create a positive experience and encourage the wanted behaviours you want and need from your dog. Think of treat training for your dog like you receiving your pay check from work. Even if your job means the world to you and you LOVE it you probably wouldn ' t continue to go to work without getting paid, right? This in the same for your dogs too. For dogs , treats are a paycheck and it is incentive for them to be rewarded for wanted behaviours.

High Value Dog Treats
Reinforcing wanted behaviours from your dog is all about timing and in the beginning the higher the value dog treats you offer the better response you may receive from your dog. When selecting high value dog treats find ones that are small, easily carried by you and consumed quickly by your dog. In turn, you will be able to keep up a higher rate of reinforcement and help keep your dog on track during their training sessions. Examples of high value treats include ; cooked chicken ( skin removed ) , fish treats with a high odour like sardines or anchovies, You can also use small amounts of cheese or even a dehydrated meat. Remember that higher treats should only make up 10 % of your dog ' s diet. You can also make a DIY recipe for high value treats

Healthy Dog Treats
Single protein no nasty dog treats are also make great training treats. It is also recommended to use a variety of dog treats to keep your dog engaged and not always rely on high value dog treats as your dog may soon consider them lower value dog treats and may not have same the desired effect. Choosing single proteins are a great option for treat training. Always remember to treat your dog for the wanted behaviour and not bribe your dog. A bribe is considered when your dog won ' t do what you ' re asking them to do and then you show them a piece of food in order to get them to complete the task. We recommend rewarding wanted behaviours and avoid bribing your dog into the behaviour.
