LOGO USAGE Swansea University is a powerful brand which is resonant with local, national and global audiences, and our most important asset. It should take precedence in the vast majority of our marketing and communications. We recognise that there will be specific scenarios in which a faculty or school must be referenced, or very rarely, its own brand applied. The brand and creative services teams have created a quick rule of thumb, which has been included for illustrative purposes. The FHSS marketing team and central brand and creative services teams are on hand to provide advice and guidance.

SOCIAL MEDIA • Promoting academic / research news and student stories: We advise all social content coming from the schools within the faculty be fed through [email protected] for maximum reach, visibility and cross promotion. This also ensures that all of the external facing faculty content is produced in line with the university branding guidelines and the Welsh Language Standards. • However, if a departmental account is being utilised, we advise the following: • Ensure that the page is set to private and only viewable by members. This will mean that your account is exempt from the Welsh Language Legislation, meaning you won’t have to post bilingually. Where profiles are not private, we would advise that those channels follow the Welsh Language Policy, which may require bilingual posting. • Image usage: Please be aware that any imagery used must be licensed and can’t just be obtained from Google as the marketing team will not be able to share said content unless licensed. Please see details below on how to obtain licenced imagery. • pixabay.com - a license free image site for stock images. • pexels.com - a license free image site for stock images. • unsplash.com - a license free image site for stock images. • marketingtoolkit.swansea.ac.uk - please ensure that you have registered access to the SU Marketing Toolkit which is open to any SU employee. • elements.envato.com - The marketing team has access to this single use licensing platform. If you find images on this site and would like them downloaded, please send the link and a reason for download to [email protected] for us to license and return.
