BLESSEDWITH AN AMAZING TEAM RECOGNIZING EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAY

When Johnson Law Group started, there was no “group.” It was just me. I had been laid off from a dissolved law firm and was new to the realm of law practice management. Later, Myles joined me full time, and together we began our focus on family law matters. As a married couple, we communicated well and enjoyed more quality time together than before. However, we soon discovered how difficult it was to simultaneously handle cases and manage the firm’s operations. It became obvious we needed help, and we are glad to have that now.

Thank You!

WHAT MYRON LATNEY WANTS HIS CLI

When it comes to practicing family law, one of the most important skills people can have is the ability to listen with empathy. At least, that’s according to Myron L. Latney, one of the associate attorneys here at Johnson Family Law Group. As is the case with many lawyers, Myron meets with his clients during the most stressful times of their lives. Whether he’s helping them navigate the domestic relations process, child support, or the dissolution of marriage, Myron is happy to serve them however he can. For as long as Myron has been working, he has found ways to serve his community through his work, wherever that community may be. While growing up, he washed cars, mowed lawns, waited tables, and even worked in a Walmart’s deli. Whatever he did though, he saw it as a way to make the lives of the people around him a little bit easier. His desire to be entrenched in his community, serving their needs, is ultimately what led him to practice law.

Myron started out working at a pro bono office, writing up protection orders. It was his first foray into a field where he could ensure that his clients’ current

situation wouldn’t hinder them from truly moving forward in their lives. That’s now what he considers the most rewarding aspect of his job, especially when young children are involved. “Knowing that young children are in a situation where they can grow and develop in a way that protects not only their innocence but also fosters a loving relationship with both parties” is the ideal situation, according to Myron. Myron’s work in family law isn’t without challenges, however. Managing client expectations isn’t always easy. Sometimes he’ll work with clients that expect their case to play out like it did for someone else they knew, but because no two people or life situations are the same, every case ends up being unique.

All in all, Myron just wants his clients to know that he’s here to protect their rights and their family. “If they need someone who is truly going to fight for them and have a level of empathy and compassion while doing that, I’m the guy,” Myron said.
