Manager’s Message
This time of year shows off Albany Country Club at its best – busy and full of members making lifelong memories. The weather may not have acted like spring, but we still had plenty of golfers on the course and sold - out events in the clubhouse. As we begin to open the tennis courts and pool, we are heading into a summer that promises to be our busiest for many years. Our exciting tennis news is that we have begun the conversion of courts 5 and 6 to asphalt to give us more flexibility and increased use. We expect to have these finished by the end of June. We ’ ve completed the seasonal re - conditioning on the Har - Tru for courts 2, 3 and 4; and Shannon has a full calendar of tennis activities for members of all ages, from toddlers on up to men ’ s and women ’ s competitive and social events. We hope you will join us on the evening of June 3rd for a poolside pizza party and summer activity sign up. This event will give you an opportunity to learn about, and sign up for, our summer activities, including golf, tennis and summer camps and Swim Team. Kids have no excuse to be bored this summer at ACC! While the unexpectedly cooler weather has caused us to move around some of our projects on the golf course, we are in excellent shape after core aerification and fertilization programs. The drainage work done in the spring has proven its worth during the recent rains, and Marcus has been meeting with our architect and Green Committee to finalize the drainage plans for the rest of the year. Although hiring continues to be a challenge for all local businesses, we believe we have finally gotten the staff we need for the course maintenance team … just in time for a very busy summer! PGA Junior League starts its new season with a great team of juniors; and we ’ re excited about this year ’ s Friday Night Opens which will include a mix of creative golf games one Friday each month throughout the summer; plus, Tee for Three returns. This introductory league for women meets on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm through the end of June. Women also have the Spring Handicap and the Play for PINK fundraiser, while men have the President ’ s Plaque Year Long Individual Tournament, William Walsh Four - Ball on Memorial Day, Men ’ s Guest Day, Father ’ s Day Tournament, and the Robert Trent Jones Cup. All golfers can enjoy the Longest Day on June 18th, and the RTJ Mixed Match Play all summer. Social events for the summer include continuing our popular Prime Rib Dinner Nights and our traditional Independence Day celebration with fireworks on July 3rd. So that we may always be prepared to serve our members, please continue to make reservations for dining and social events online, through our mobile app, or by calling. Summer is a time when we all bring more guests, please remind them in advance about our Dress Code in all areas of the Club so that we can continue to keep ACC the elegant and gracious retreat you expect and deserve.
We are excited to debut our new lounge chairs and cocktail tables at the pool during our official Grand Opening on Memorial Day weekend and we ’ re sure you ’ ll have lots of opportunities to enjoy them.
As you can see from the next page, we continue to have many new members joining the ACC family, so please take a moment to get to know them and be sure to say hello when you see them. Let's keep ACC the friendly and welcoming place we all know it is. We hope you will bring your friends and other prospects out to the Club this summer and help them get a membership of their very own! Our best referrals are our own happy members, and Sara - Becca is ready and waiting to help them.
I appreciate your love of Albany Country Club and ongoing commitment to our success. Thank you for your membership and enjoy the summer! As always, if there is anything I can do to help, do not hesitate to contact me.

Golf Shop Premier Pricing Program and Visage Advertising
If any members have purchased merchandise in the Golf Shop this year, you would see that we have continued the Premiere Pricing Plan (PPP) available only to Albany Country Club members. This program allows members to purchase the latest and greatest in equipment and apparel at a price they can’t get anywhere else. All merchandise is sold at wholesale + 10%! By now most of you have seen the full screen ads on the par 3 holes and the smaller insert ads on the par 4’s and 5’s. If you have seen the advertising, you have noticed that they are not strictly ads but also a way to celebrate the golfing achievements of our members.
It is through the sale of this advertising that Albany Country Club is able to provide the members with this pricing plan. We want to thank members Justin Riccio, Kevin Colwell, Mike Keefrider, the Lia family, and Chris Levy for being the first to advertise and help make the Premiere Pricing Plan available to all members of the Club. We do have one full screen ad and a few of the insert ads still available for the summer run. Attached are the advertising options available if you are interested in being a part of this win, win program.

To-Go Meals To-Go Meals do not have a service charge added on. The only time that we did so was during the height of the pandemic when that was the only food and beverage service we were allowed. Making, updating and canceling dining reservations We have heard from a few members that they were having difficulty with these. Click the links below for detailed instructions. If you are interested in learning how to play Canasta, please email Sara-Becca Smith, Director of Membership. Next Canasta Tutorial Tuesday, May 24 1:00 - 3:00 pm in the Grille Room $50 per person for each afternoon Do you play Canasta or would you like to learn? The cost to participate in each of the instructor-lead afternoons is $50 per person. After the first two sessions, there will not be an additional charge to play. Play will take place in the Grille Room Tuesdays from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. We invite you to have lunch on your own beforehand.
Thursday mornings at 10:00 am in the Grille Room. Contact Trish Marciano to be included. Bring a handful of quarters, make new friends and stay for lunch if you can!

Signing of Chits It is challenging with newer employees trying to put new and familiar faces with the appropriate names. In an effort to minimize billing errors, we ask you to please sign your chits legibly and also write your member number. This is becoming increasingly important with many members having the same last names.

Friday Night Opens
One Friday night a month we will be holding a unique event designed for players of all abilities to enjoy. The events will be 9 holes using a 5:30 pm shotgun with optional food and drink specials following play. Players can form their own groups or ask the Golf Shop for help in getting paired up. Entry for the events will be $10 per player. The following is the list of events. June 24th Golf Olympics! The format will be a foursome event (make your own team) competing in a skills challenge prior to play. Teams will then compete in a 4-person team, true, alternate shot. Each player will get 1 mulligan per hole. This will be fun and fast. July 8th This will be a make your own foursome event. The format will be a modified scramble with a twist! In a typical modified scramble, the player whose shot is selected sits out the next shot. The twist is that the player whose shot is selected sits out for the rest of the hole! Lots of strategy needed for this event! August 12th Par 3 challenge! The front 9 will be turned into all par 3’s and the make - your-own foursome teams will compete in a full scramble. Each hole will have a closest-to-the-pin and hole-in-one prizes. This should be fast and lots of fun!

Tee for Three
Every Wednesday from 5:30 - 6:45 pm May 18th - June 29th
Don't Miss out on the Fun of Golf! Join other beginner women members for some fun & camaraderie! Instruction and on course play! Tee for Three is designed to introduce golf to those women who have never played or have had very limited exposure to the game. The goal of the Golf Professional staff is to, not only teach you the fundamentals of the game, but to make you more comfortable with all that goes along with the great game of golf at Albany Country Club. You will learn the basics of the golf swing, the proper equipment, tips on how to practice, layout of the course, rules and etiquette of the game and the Club, as well as the more mundane things like how to make a tee time, where to check in, how to drive a golf cart and so much more. Most of all, you will learn how much fun golf can be, especially when you are surrounded by others who are all at the same level. After each session and all that learning, most participants follow it up with a few drinks, some food and laughs. Meet some of the Wednesday Night Ladies 9-hole league! Complimentary to House, All-But-Golf, Pool and Tennis members. Also complimentary to Non-Golfing women in golfing categories (ie: golf families or golf/spouse house)
