Hold On to Your Tree: How It Started

Claudia Elaine Kellier

My name is Claudia Elaine Kellier, I was born in January, a kindhearted, proud, shy; but assertive, observant, non-judgmental and progressive motivator. ird of seven children, a wife, a mother, stepmother, grandmother, aunt. Slow to anger, relies heavily on the map of self- sufficiency, a devoted Christian who depends heavily on Christian principles. I am an Educator, a Researcher, a Guidance Counselor, a Motivator, a Leader, and a Cosmetologist. I have been through many of life's challenges which provided the life-long learning that helped to propel me to the level where my dreams, anticipation, aspirations, and self- expectations, have been realized as life's challenges removed the shadow that masked self-doubts and limitations. is perpetuated the indomitable mission: destined for the highest and the determination to reach others with the aim of helping to bring out the best in those lives that I amhonored to touch.

is is to all who understand that life is a journey and that to us as parents and educators, we must cooperate with each other when we recognize the defects—be it physical or behavioral—that plague our children and institutions.is was born out of recognizing that the unease my own child displayed while attending school led me to search for answers wherever they were. I recognized there was a problem, I was concerned, I was inspired by her efforts, and I was encouraged to do something. I took action by attending Teachers College in order to get the hands-on experience of teaching and learning so that I could help not onlymy child but a system that caters to all children.e unease was the root of a problem that stimulated the response that turned into an educational “tree”journey, thanks tomy daughter Karla.

William Meisel

Computer Intelligence: With Us or Against Us? by William Meisel is an educational book that explores computer intelligence and the impact it has on our lives. Computers are in our lives; we depend on themand rely on them in ways that can be dangerous if we are not careful. The author artfully carves and creates a debate that focuses on the fact that Computer Intelligence can be a foe or a friend. We decide what we want it to be. I enjoyed how the author gave facts not opinions on how it is affecting our lives at the moment. Meisel talks about the history of CI, how it developed, how it took the formof Artificial Intelligence and how it is still being developed to reach new heights. Whilemost people understand the technology, they don’t knowenough about it to understand how it can be dangerous. This book is very educational; it specifically talks about how computer intelligence is becoming an integral part of life and how we can safely use it to our advantages. The author uses simple language to describe some very difficult technologies on a level that is understandable by all. More than that, he ensures that the reader is able to digest the information and make something of it. I enjoyed how strong the arguments were, how these were not just speculation but arguments with facts. This is a great book for people who enjoy reading up on material that will add to their knowledge.

- Rabia Tanveer, Readers’ Favorite

Computer Intelligence: With Us or Against Us? is a work of non-fiction focusing on technology, and was penned by author William Meisel. Whilst the current buzz around advances in Artificial Intelligence continues to dominate the mainstream news, this instructional volume encourages us to look beyond AI to the wider frame of CI: the combination of the power of the computer itself, and the sophisticated software that results from that power. In this in-depth examination, Meisel takes readers through the history and development of CI, unveiling its true power and current capacity, and then goes on to discuss the developments beyond the current crucial ‘tipping point’ as we go forward into the future. One of the most impressive things about this highly technical guide is the ease of access with which author William Meisel presents his information to readers. The narrative style is clear and concise, never burdening readers with too many terms at once, and making asides to explain them fully. This results in a thorough consideration of how CI actually works, which is a great base to begin discussing its true capacity. The suppositions Meisel makes about the future have great grounding in the current field of technological capability that we all see and use today, and so his realistic extrapolation of its evolution makes for some fascinating food for thought. Overall, Computer Intelligence: With Us or Against Us? is a highly recommended read for technology enthusiasts, but also the everyday person who would like to be better informed about the technology they use every day.

No one seems to be in despair. Why are all those bears out there? WHY DO I LOVE BOOKS?

It is our heritage, culture and history. Great and wise men in the history of mankind have put their thoughts in writing for future generations to read. Monumental events have been written and recorded in written form passed down from generations to generation from one nation to the other. If these great men, poets and authors did not write history and their thoughts into a book, then we would have been just a hollow being, drifting through life and questioning our origins. Where we come from and what made us think and do things, so many why's but no answers or explanations. But thanks to these books, we can now better understand ourselves, move forward with learnings from the past and create a better way of life in the future. There are just so many things that can be said about the signicant of books in our lives but whatever it is, let it take you in one of life's greatest journey. It doesn't cost much but the rewards are endless and priceless. So, nd your cozy corner with a cup coffee or tea and indulge yourself with a great book, get lost into it but come back feeling like a whole new person.

A book is like a bestfriend to me. It never leaves my side- it is always there, reliable and comforting. It is my source of joy. Whenever I feel sad, I simply pick up a book and start reading. I just let myself stay in the moment and get lost in the context of words and magically, it takes my sadness away. Whatever emotions I feel, a book understands me. A good book spins my world and takes me to the greatest adventure of my life: self-realization and self-actualization. Most importantly, it transmutes the negativity into positivity. A book enhances my thinking skills and broaden my perspectives. Different genres of books stimulate different types of emotions and imaginations. You can fall in love with ction and y to never land with Peter Pan but if you're more realistic than imaginative, then indulge in the varieties of non-ction books from self-help books, spirituality to lifestyle and homeliving there are just so many choices. It is a source of knowledge and creativity. Books are benecial factors of our lives whether in school, business, research, self-improvement, personal life and DIY projects, you will nd tons and tons of ideas from the abundance of books in the market today.

HOWTOBEA MILLIONAIRE Make sure you always win.

How it feels to be a millionaire, many ask. Lying on a bed of cash, driving luxurious cars, living a lavish lifestyle, and buying fancy stuff—ultimately the standard of existence anyone could just dream of. Being a millionaire is being socially responsible to your finances. It's having infinite rounds of fight that you must always win, always.

And how do you win? It's a no brainer, here's how;

1. Only Carry Enough Cash As far as our eyes can see, God gives everything. Though, not almost—shopping spree for one, so please don’t go. It is a person’s tendency to run riot when money is within an immediate reach. And nowadays, luxuries are everywhere finding its next victim. Don’t click that bait, and you’ll surely win. 2. Commute Have one seen the movie series, “The Matrix”? If so, then chances are you know, too, Keanu Reeves. Guess what, Reeves, as much as the whole world knows him, he publicly commutes to work. For him at the helm of his Hollywood career it surely goes unexpected. With the current situation we are experiencing, commuting is good. You are not only helping your wallet, but also the entire community—less hassle, less traffic, less expenses, and no obligations (plus you got a exercise, saving that gym fee too). What else one wants? Given that, we may have to sacrifice comfort a little bit but no worries, we’ll get there. Best part, save more money—and that said is another impressive victory. 3. Eat Healthy An old adage says which is still true until now that, “health is wealth.” Of course, factually true. In avoiding junk food and fast food as much as possible, health stays intact and one doesn’t need to spend those hospital fees. No one ever. In eating healthy, not only you get the benefits of the food you eat, but the money that goes to the saving is just so right. Be WELLTHY! 4. Avoid Lifestyle Inflation For anyone who hasn’t heard this term, this will literally save a life. Lifestyle Inflation, as economist defines it, as the person’s net income increase, so is spending. Change this attitude, otherwise, money wasted is indeed money wasted, even if your salary has tripled higher. 5. Focus on Self-Improvement Instead of doing something that costs money, options like staying at home reading a book might be of a good help. Also, perhaps, purchase a front-row ticket to talk conventions, avenues like this serves a new leverage for learning, thus, making good wisdom fortune out of it. Contrary to popular belief on how society, the people in general, sees the rich live their lives. Some personalities, if not many, just live differently—not the way we think they did, but the way we never thought they did—responsibly, as they say. And for that, we call them not by monetary inheritance, we call themwith mindset inheritance, they are the true wealthy.

This goes back to the question, being Rich or Wealthy? It depends on who the person defines it, compares and contrasts both.

Always keep in mind, it's not howmuch you can make, but howmuch you can keep.

Thank you for taking time to read my article. I strongly believe in the power of sharing, I hope you do too!

Self-Helpbook that focuses on teachingpeople howto solve anddeal withpersonal problems. "e Revelation ofWhy" is a self-help book that doesn't mince the truth of seeking help outside of yourself. Spurred by author Nathaniel Frazier's life experiences and events, the book seeks to balance one's "negative and positive character traits." Although orthodox in its techniques, the book's thrust of delving into your own thoughts, and processing them equally, is concise in its direction that is missing fromwhat is offered by the slew of similar literature available.

Perhaps, more importantly, "e Revelation of Why" aims to help and support in the education and information campaign of what the author describes to be the "mental warfare" in the minds of millions.is mental warfare is largely seen as indicative of character weakness, but within the book is unique strength in the form of an accountability chart.e chart is a guide wherein one can examine the areas in life that need improving. “e Revelation of Why" is described by the author as containing techniques to recognize mental combat in people. It offers logical and reasonable techniques to challenge one's self and others to build rapport, trust, love and understanding.

Reward Your Future Self The basics of putting your money to work.

by Gzpot

What’s your ideal retirement age? 50? 60? 65?

Wondering the first time or never even thought about it? That's okay, it means we're about the same age.

Retirement might be decades away and it's too soon to care but given the thought of it, would you be financially stable by then?

Supposing your desired retirement age is coming in fast as your next birthday, wouldn't it be nice if you could afford yourself the financial freedom you have always dreamed of?

The kind of life that has been causing you to get more sleep at night, financial stability, death of debts, enhanced purchase capability and capacity to splurge without even scratching the surface of your stockpile.

With these in mind, I know you can't help but wonder how or is it even possible. Well, contrary to the popular belief, it is.

Doable, you ask? Effortlessly.

There are many known ways and existing methods or perhaps you could come up with something new, it is totally up to you. Your ideas really don’t have to be grand nor wait for the perfect time to execute.

The ultimate key here is to start now. And it only takes a few baby steps to start making your dreams real, here's how;

1. Free thy self

Free yourself from existing debts and avoid incurring more. Write them down like a bucket list that you'd want to clear out someday—ASAP. As soon as you could afford to pay it all off, then do so immediately. It's just a matter of discipline.

What's that? Easier said than done? Yes. It is. But for the love of beachfront houses and breakfasts at sunrise, this is for your damn retirement. So, quit complaining and get it done.

It would be difficult for you to proceed if you skip this step. If necessary, look for ways to earn extra income. The sooner you're free, the better future it will be.

2. Know thy self

Gauge your risk tolerance. It is imperative to know how much risk you can handle for long-term investing and/or the opposite as such would easily narrow the options that would work for you.

It also matters to recognize whether you are a conservative, moderate, or aggressive investor. Although you need not to worry about the differences in the amount of savings and investments since we all have different ways in building our fortune. And besides, the goal stays the same.

3. Identify Investment Vehicles Whether its businesses, regular savings accounts, time deposits, treasury bills, treasury bonds, corporate bonds, mutual funds, stocks, crypto currencies, or real estates, each has its own pros and cons and pretty much vary in the returns it yields. There are, in fact, a lot of options and it won't take much time to study and put into practice. At least get to know the fundamentals of each. Take your savings account as an example. It is considered as the lowest-yielding investment that could only max up to 1.25% annually - you'd even have to be really lucky to get that rate as most banks offer only less than 1%. This could be one of the best sources for emergencies. And it sure is risk-free, however, inflation beats you by a few percent. Only a few, yes, but point is you're losing money over time. As you see, it really pays to know more. If you are a risk taker, consider mutual funds, stocks, or perhaps, crypto currencies. Remember, the higher the risk, the better the rewards. You can take advantage of this while still in mid 20s or early 30s since there is still time to patch up some losses, if you happen to incur any. 4. Don't rush, but don't delay You might feel overwhelmed and confident that you have mastered investing after reading this article or a couple, but don't get too ahead of yourself. Continue to learn more. Remember, the world is constantly changing and we need to keep up with the times. When you've learned the basics, regardless if you only have enough or little, start immediately. There is no other way to get better at this than putting it into practice. Conservative? Start small. This is not a race but the earlier your start, the better. 5. Diversify High-yield investments are tempting and could materialize retirement sooner if you hit it bigtime. Unless you could stomach a possible huge loss, it is highly discouraged—especially when you just started building a portfolio. Mix up your basket in a way that risks are fairly distributed. It might be confusing and a bit frustrating at first but eventually, it'll get easier which brings me to say... 6. Keep it up A skill that requires constant honing and mastery, saving for retirement is a lifetime habit. Continue to educate yourself and if possible, get the latest updates on your investments. Almost every information you need is available on the Internet. So, make good use of it. In time, you will develop your own methods and eventually get better at saving and investing. There is always a risk in everything we do. But only with sufficient knowledge thus can be avoided. Do more, stay low, and most importantly—help others. Thank you for taking time to read my article. I strongly believe in the power of sharing, I hope you do too!

Path of the Devil: Camino del Diablo is a true story that occurred 1991-1996. DEA Agent Larry Hardin and two private investigators, Jeff Pearce and Randy Torgerson, were determined to bring down the Meraz's operating along the southwestern border. As a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Hill is a published scholar, but the DNRTRILOGY is his first attempt at a work of fiction. A self-described angry man safely nestled behind a superficial faced of banality. Dr. Hill felt compelled to write this novel in an attempt to make peace with God, the Universe, and the very practice of Medicine. Only time will tell whether or not these lofty objectives have been achieved. Don W. Hill, M.D.

This book sheds the light of the truth of the Bible on common assumptions: "The last straw did not break the camel's back; it really got the camel going." “It's when you've worked the hardest for God that you can truly rest." All thoughts are supported by verses from the Bible. All quotations are taken from the King James Version of the Bible.

THE PARADISE MAN ACCORDING TO THOMAS MERTON

LINHXUAN VU

Since Adam and Eve left Eden, humanity has endured through long millennia of hardships and sufferings, especially death. But the hearts of their children and great-grandchildren have never given up the hope that, someday, they could return to the place of happiness that once had been their inheritance. It is a legitimate and dignied dream. In fact, since the day Adam and Eve left, paradise has remained on earth, waiting for every single human child to return. Merton’s paradise, in the last analysis, is on earth, but it is not a spacious place. It is rather an attitude of heart, a state of consciousness, in a spiritual journey. The recovery of paradise occurs when the ego in us becomes empty like a desert. The more the noisy ego diminishes, the more the paradise appears in all its beauty. In fact, this paradise is the face of God, not just an imaginary picture but the true God Himself. The more the face of our ego fades out, the more the face of God shines in his glory, might, and goodness. The desert path is more a journey within our consciousness than through geographical space and time. That is why it belongs to all people and is not just reserved for desert hermits. According to Thomas Merton, you need not be a bishop, a priest, a monk, a nun, a religious person, or a hermit to enter the spiritual journey. You may be a lay person, a normal churchgoer very busy with your daily duties, but you certainly could be a real paradise man.

A short poem may be a stylistic choice or it may be that you have said what you intended to say in a more concise way. Either way, they differ stylistically from a long poem in that there tends to be more care in word choice. Since there are fewer words people tend to spend more time on choosing a word that ts the subject to perfection. Because of this meticulous attitude, writing a short poem is often more tedious than writing a long poem. Short Poem? Why a

The publication The Great Barrier Beach FieldGuide is the result of several years of beach surveys of the Northeast Coast, Long Island, New York, New Jersey, New England, and the coastline of North and South Carolina. “In its natural state, the barrier beach is a fascinating mixture of opposites: high and low elevations, wet and dry, hot and cold, sterile and fertile, windblown and sheltered.” It is the combination of these factors that, with a strip of land varying in width from a few thousand feet to a few hundred or less, have produced several distinct zones of flora distribution. Considering the mixture of abiotic elements of the various zones, the flora that occupy a zone must be genetically equipped to adapt or be replaced by a genetically equipped species. The environment is the selecting agent; it determines and selects the most genetically equipped to survive and perpetuate.

Ÿ Faith is a spiritual force through which our ministry becomes effective.

Ÿ Faith is the major key for an effective healing and deliverance ministry.

We see how important faith is. Yet some people despair thinking that they don’t have faith. But faith comes, it grows and develops overtime. If you are not full of faith today, that doesn’t mean you will be that way all your life. Choose to be a person of faith!

INVESTING A SOUND MINDSET

G E T R I D O F F O M O

This article is for individuals who are curious about the idea of investing and its instruments, or those who understand but haven’t decided to move, just yet.

However, this suits best for those who are completely clueless even as to what the word “Investing” means. And if you are one of the few but eager to, it’s not a coincidence why you’re here.

For those who accidentally clicked the article, I’d encourage you to read it through, trust me — it won’t be wasting your time. And to all Millennials, I hope you find this piece a shareable material. Happy reading!

When we hear the word “Investing”, more often than not, we immediately think of money, putting money at risk; that is the idea. Then you would hear people say, “It’s too risky” — the universal statement. We perceived it as a great risk among other options or ways to source out income since it is uncertain where or how it goes. But we’ll talk about that in a moment.

For now, I’d like you to recall the time you’ve heard yourself or somebody else pitching one or two of the famous lines below. Allowme to comment a bit just to challenge your intuition, though;

“I’m just an ordinary employee.” (There is no specific job requirement in investing, I personally know some househelps who are investing.)

“I only have a basic salary, I don’t have extra money to invest.” (A better financial management could help.)

“It’s only for the rich, professional, persons in position, or individual who have attained higher education. It’s not for people like me.” (A big NO! It can be done by anyone.)

“I don’t have enough money for that now because I have things that I want to, uhmm no, need to buy.” (You are just confused between Needs and Wants.)

“I know it’s important but it is not my priority because I have bills to pay and I got a vacation trip next year and I must save for that.” (I understand, I know your trip is important and fun as well, but what happens after your trip? Is there an emoji for being broke?)

These are the most common phrases I get from asking different people about their thought on investing. Well, some might understand the idea but have never truly seen the value of it. Understanding is different from assessing value.

Oftentimes, we tend to dip into the lies behind our reasoning and confuse it with the truth but as the quote says,

“PEOPLE DO NOT PRIORITIZE INVESTING BECAUSE THEY PRIORITIZE WANTS OVER NEEDS, HAVE TOO MUCH DEBT, TOOMANY DEPENDENTS, AND UNCONTROLLED SPENDING.” — CHINKEE TAN

The reason why most people have this kind of mentality can simply be narrowed down to 2 things:

Shattered Dreams and Broken Hearts F e n t a n y l t h e K i l l e r Sylvia Abolis Mennear $ 13.00 149 pages

1. Ignorance The lack of knowledge, education, awareness, or information. Sad truth is most of us, if not all, are financially illiterate to begin with. Yes, we have business courses and the likes, but we really don’t have an established, formal institution that provides proper financial education. Schools only teach us terminologies, jargons, and computations. They teach us how to count money, and not how to make them—which the latter is far more important. And as disappointing it may be, we rather choose to use our resources, our efforts, and our time catching up with trends, in with the new, and as the cliché says, keeping up with the Joneses. We hardly think of our future nor speak about it. We barely even plan for it. But it isn’t too late, we can still change. 2. Fear Everyone has his/her own set of fears and it’s completely understandable. But as they say, “Ignorance leads to fear and having the fear of the unknown is terrifying.” I have outlined below a few that we usually hear. Fear of Losing Money Whether it’s your own business, savings, equities, bonds, t-bills, funds, or any other investment tool, there is always the risk of losing money BUT only if you have no idea of what you are doing. You wouldn’t be driving then on a busy highway with eyes closed, would you? I know you’re not dumb to do that. There are several ways to diversify and lower the amount of risk on your investment portfolio and with sufficient knowledge, you can even grow your investment to more than it should be. Fear of Being Different It sure feels great “being one with the crowd” and beneficial for one’s well-being too, however, this may not be applicable to every situation. Being different in the manner of spending habits, managing finances, and planning the future does not only prove how disciplined you can be, but more importantly, an indispensable trait to success. Otherwise, all the stories of successful people we know are damn fake.

9781986916783

Fear of Judgment Nobody likes to be bombarded by negative comments especially coming from our friends and families — I know how much that hurts. And so, it’s safe to say the right call of action is to just live life like everybody else does and not go against the current or else, you’ll get burned. However, though, this shouldn’t be the case — always. Don’t let other people define you, let your future define you. One day you might want to look back and say you did a pretty good job going against the trend and for sure, I’ll be there cheering for you! Fear of Missing Out “Wow, is that the latest smartphone? I’m going to get me one next payday!” “Friend, I heard the malls are on sale today and they’re giving out limited edition bags for a certain minimum purchase.” “We just bought a new car, when are you getting yours? They have this installment plan which I think you can afford. And it’s easy, I know a friend who can get you approved.”

“Everybody else is buying a condo unit, why shouldn’t we?”

I know you’ve heard of these lines too, I hear them every day — almost. Oftentimes when we make decisions concerning our expenditures, it’s not because it is the right thing to do nor it is what our gut tells us, but simply because we’re getting emotionally pulled into it. That FOMO (fear of missing out) feeling and not to mention the strong pressure caused by your show-off friends. Unfortunately, this is very common to 20s and 30s. Although it might look like a tight competition of who is better and who has more but it isn’t. You are more likely growing an Envious Attitude and it is not going to help you anyway. Get rid of the want-to-show-off attitude because it’s a trap. Behind most of those luxurious condo units and shiny cars, are years of financial struggle. Now that we have clearly identified the reasons that makes us not want to start investing, maybe it’s time to embrace a new perspective. Consider all available options. Meditate and define the variables that actually matter and think about your future. Eventually, you will figure ways to overcome your fears and will no longer be the same as before the next time you hear the word “Investing”.

Investing, as what the experts define, it is “the act of committing money to something with the expectation of

getting profit later”. You invest money on a certain thing expecting it would give you profits in the future. There are many definitions out there, which make the idea of invest ing compl icated for ordinar y people to understand. But it’s rather simple — no need to complicate. There are no certain rules as to how much, may it be small or big, and any desired amount is an investment.

“ THE TIME TO START IS REALLY NOW. THE TIME TO START WOULD’VE BEEN YESTERDAY, ACTUALLY.”

Financial Education isn’t merely a study, it’s a skill and the only way to learn is to self-educate, network, attend talks, connect with mentors, read books, and use tools such as the internet. And like any other skill, it can be honed over time. Instead of wasting your time on social media sites, invest in yourself and focus on how to further improve your finances. Being financially literate is an obligation, not just to yourself, but to your entire bloodline. Trust me, my parents never taught me any of this. I bet yours too! But you and I are here to change that. This is not a simple lifestyle transition, this will require a lot from you but as you progress, it will get easier each time. It isn’t a change, but rather an upgrade from living the ambitious life set by most to living “the life” conquering all your financial struggles.

Always keep in mind that behind your walls of fear are your greatest dreams.

Thank you for taking time to read my article. I strongly believe in the power of sharing, I hope you do too!
