Managing for TeamWellbeing Survey Results

8 Virtual Workshops on Managing for Team Wellbeing, facilitated by the Black Dog Institute, have now been held across the District, between November 2021 and February 2022.

A survey was delivered to participants last week in order to gain further feedback from managers as to what strategies and resources have been helpful in supporting them to support their teams. The responses have provided some valuable insight. The feedback reflects the enormous effort you and your teams have put in over the last 2 years in particular, to support our staff during the pandemic, as well as provides some reminders of things we can maintain our focus on as we progress into 2022. A snapshot of the results has been provided below, however I encourage you to read the full survey report (attached) as there are many verbatim comments provided.

Brief Summary of Responses:

Question 1. How can NSLHD support you in 2022 to support the wellbeing and recovery of your team as you continue to navigate COVID-19 and it’s after effects?

See the flyer overleaf for full details.

Psychological First Aid (PFA) Workshops: COVID-19 Frontline Leaders

To support our frontline leaders in supporting their team members, we are offering specialised PFA workshops which address potentially traumatic/ critical events including COVID-19, psychological distress, fatigue / injury within the NSLHD health workforce. Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an evidence informed intervention/ approach designed to reduce the initial distress caused by critical/ traumatic events including impacts of a pandemic on individuals & communities. The training involves a presentation format with case studies, small group work and interactive sessions and selected role plays. The training seeks to present approaches that senior staff can utilise such as PFA and compassion/ resilience strategies/ practical flexible approaches to problem solve work related stressors to support those affected. The approach can assist with prevention of escalating symptoms & behaviours whilst identifying possible referral to other stepped care opportunities for HCWs.
