Financial Wellness Financial wellness is more than being able to pay our bills and still have a little extra cash. It’s when we don’t have to worry about a job loss or pay cuts, when our work doesn’t take too much time away from our family, and when we’re well on our way to being debt-free. Our financial situation can bring either a lot of stress and worry or a lot of security. Melaleuca’s business opportunity was created with economic wellness in mind. We can have true peace of mind when our house is paid off, our savings and retirement funds are secure, and our future plans are not limited by money—and many have proven that with Melaleuca, all of that is possible. We can all decide to be financially well. It is only a matter of commitment, hard work, and dedication. Social Wellness We are socially well when we have many friends, when our name is spoken with trust, when our home provides peace and nurturing, and when we are respected for our willingness to help others. Melaleuca provides a tremendous opportunity to make new friends and numerous opportunities for social activities. Our family relationships are the most important relationships we have and are also part of our social wellness. The pace of our society takes away time from our family and sometimes causes people to sacrifice family relationships to the degree that this most precious part of our lives gets almost totally ignored. What a tragedy! The atmosphere of our homes should be one of togetherness, tenderness, and understanding. Without time together, that can never happen.
Over the past decade, Melaleuca has become known as “The Wellness Company.” I feel this title is well deserved. As people get to know us well, they arrive at the conclusion that no one delivers total wellness as completely as Melaleuca. Not only does Melaleuca deliver physical wellness through some of the most effective health-oriented products in the world, Melaleuca also promotes wellness in almost every aspect of a person’s life. As human beings, we have several facets to our lives. To truly have a happy, healthy, and productive life, we need to be healthy in all aspects. We should strive not only for physical health, but to be healthy financially, socially, intellectually, and spiritually as well. The two most obvious areas where Melaleuca can make an impact in our wellness are physically and financially. But Melaleuca continues to have a major impact on other aspects of people’s lives as well. We advocate that we not only avoid overlooking those other aspects but consider optimizing the contribution that Melaleuca makes in these other areas as well. Physical Wellness Our physical health is in order when we can meet every day with enough energy and vitality to accomplish every task, conquer every challenge, and savor every experience of that day—not only when we are 20, 30, or 40 years old but when we are 50, 60, 70, and yes, even 80 years old. When our health is gone, we may still be alive, but we will no longer be enjoying life. Daily nutrition and exercise have everything to do with maintaining our physical health. And no one provides better nutritional supplementation that promotes longevity than Melaleuca.

you are. I know everything you have ever done. I know every thought you have ever had. I know your every secret.” And then I have hoped I will be able to say to myself, “And knowing all of those things, I really like you, and I trust you to always do the right thing.” If, when I am 80 years old, I can emphatically make that statement to myself, I feel I will have passed the test of what life is all about. I know that if I am able to say that to myself, it will not be because I did not make any mistakes in my life. I have made many mistakes! Some were really bad ones! If I can say that to myself, it will be because I tried to correct my mistakes and learn from them and make things right. I feel if I fail in that test, I will have failed in everything important in this life. We can take pride in the fact that we have built our Melaleuca business with that principle. No amount of success will ever provide us with the peace of mind one would sacrifice by living outside those boundaries. Melaleuca would never advise someone on what values they ought to incorporate in their lives, but we would advocate that people look inside themselves to determine what values they hold dear and then live true to whatever those values are. I suspect those true values are pretty much the same for all of us. Only if we live true to those values will we be able to have peace with ourselves—even when we are over 80 years old. Melaleuca is an advocate for people to be truly well in all aspects of their lives. Melaleuca can be a major contributor in all areas of wellness, either directly or indirectly. We will continue to strive to be worthy of the title “The Wellness Company.” We hope that you can endorse both the title and the concept. Sincerely,
I have heard hundreds of stories from Marketing Executives who say the most rewarding part of building their Melaleuca business is being able to spend more time together as a family. They no longer have to leave home to go to work before the kids get up. They can take an afternoon off to be there for an important game. They create stronger relationships with their spouses by building a business together. Hundreds of Melaleuca moms are now staying at home with their children as opposed to having their kids raised by a day care center. It’s hard to measure the value that a healthy family relationship has on our lives or even on the strength of our community or our nation. But I believe if we could measure it, it would be immense! Intellectual Wellness One of the most vital parts of our bodies is our mind. When our minds do not function properly, we are in major trouble. Almost daily, new documentation appears stating that good nutrition can have a major impact on our mental health. But intellectual health goes far beyond that. To be intellectually healthy, we should always be learning, increasing in knowledge, reading good books, staying current on the news, seeing new places, and exploring nature. There is so much to learn! We can never learn it all, but the more we learn the more we gain in understanding and the more meaningful life can become. It takes time—and sometimes resources— to learn. Melaleuca can help with both time and resources. Inner Wellness Inner wellness is when we have a clear conscience and when we wake up with a feeling of peace about who we are and what we stand for; it’s also when we have a relationship with our Creator. Having a clear conscience is quite a bit different than having no conscience. I have often thought about being 80 years old (that still seems pretty old to me) and looking myself in the mirror. I imagine saying to the face staring back at me, “I know you. I know who

There is plenty of evidence to support how learning goal-setting skills and making them a habit will help you live a better life. Harvard Business School studied their MBA graduates and found that within 10 years of graduation the 3% of graduates who wrote down their goals earned up to 10 times more than the other 97% of graduates combined! Many of you have probably heard the powerful principle of making your goals SMART (Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Timely). But that’s not the only step to achieve them! Here are some other skills to learn and implement so you can reach your goals faster and more frequently. Habits for Reaching Goals Faster and More Frequently

Write Down Your Goal on Paper and Make It Visible Activate your brain by putting pen to paper and writing down your goal in words and pictures. Doing this solidifies the goal in your mind and forces you to get crystal clear about what you’re striving for. Post your goal in the most visible place in your home or workspace, such as your bathroom mirror or the lock screen on your smartphone. Envision Your Future Take a few minutes to visualize your future. What will it feel like when you achieve your goal? What will your life look like? How will it affect your daily actions, your relationships, and how you see yourself? Write a paragraph that describes your future in detail—how it feels and looks and what you’ll do. Doing so will train your brain to connect the dots from where you are to the steps you need to take to achieve your goal. Whether it’s in athletics, business, or your personal life, visualizing your success will help you achieve it. Understand Why You Want to Achieve Your Goal It’s important to truly know why you want to achieve a goal. When you have a deep and meaningful reason behind your goal, you’ll move mountains. There will be days when you want to give up and quit, but your why will allow you to overcome the temptation to stop.
Take Consistent Action for 90 Days Why 90 days? Studies show that doing something for 90 days allows you to not only create new habits but also create a lifestyle change. Doing something consistently for 90 days makes you feel successful and sets the stage for future success. You’ll also learn there is more power in focusing on the process and next steps rather than on your end goal. Real change happens when small actions are taken consistently over time. Share with an Accountability Partner Fear often stops us from telling others about an important goal because we’re afraid we might not reach that goal. But sharing your goal with others gives you precisely what you need: increased commitment, accountability, and visibility. Try sharing your next goal with an accountability partner and watch what happens. As one proverb says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

Marlo & Jim Payne ILLINOIS Essentials for Success
No matter your goal, Marlo believes you can achieve it through hard work and dedication. She breathes this belief into her entire team—particularly the new Members. “It’s belief that they can do it, belief in the products, and belief that Melaleuca is truly for everyone,” she says. When someone new becomes a part of her team, Marlo builds a strong one-on-one relationship with them. That means scheduling regular check-ins, trainings, and virtual walk-throughs of each of the Seven Critical Business-Building Activities. “Think about it: when you start a new job, you need either years of schooling and a degree or on-the-job training to be successful,” she explains. “That’s why it’s crucial to approach new team members with tangible training tools—especially if they’ve had no experience in sales before.” Simplifying the Melaleuca business opportunity is a great place to start. When encouraging customers to help others open shopping accounts, Marlo presents it in a powerful yet understandable way: Hey, I know you love Melaleuca products! Do you want to learn more about getting thank-you checks from the company? “You’d be surprised by how often that helps a customer transition to a business builder,” she says. “It takes the fear factor out of it. Then they’re not focused on building a successful enterprise but instead on receiving a little compensation in return for sharing products they already love and know how to talk about!”
There are three traits that Executive Director 6 Marlo Payne believes are essential to building a successful Melaleuca business: consistency, a competitive spirit, and the ability to relate well to others. “This is a people-oriented business,” she says—which is why she tailors her messages about Melaleuca to the interests and needs of the particular individual she’s introducing to the company. For one potential Member, Marlo might focus on the fact that Melaleuca manufactures products in North America, another person might be interested in clean ingredients, and someone on the hunt for an additional stream of income needs to hear more about revenue sharing. “As ambassadors of the company, we have to be aware of every aspect that might appeal to someone,” she explains. “We also have to respect the fact that we’re all different.” Marlo loves that her Melaleuca business provides additional time flexibility and financial support to have quality experiences with the people she cares about most. At the moment, she’s visiting South Carolina with her husband and kids. She plans to take many more trips in future!

Melaleuca business. Then we just give them the ability to plug in and do the work.” Staying connected and providing a network of training and support is a critical component of Shawn’s success. On his team, he has a daily video conference that always offers a tip of the day. And twice a day the team holds a Power Hour in which they can go to work while keeping each other accountable. “We have continual events,” Shawn explains. “We’ve been able to bring in a bunch of leadership to share the load, and that keeps everybody engaged and on the same page. If we’re all pointed in the same direction and focused on the same thing, we accomplish more!” Everything Shawn has built points back to the Melaleuca Mission Statement. “When I first heard the Mission Statement, I thought it was weird,” Shawn explains. But then I realized that it’s all about building the path for other people to be successful. If I build that and and continue to help families enter that path, I can’t help but be successful. The Anderson family hasn’t seen their home in Manitoba for a while. Instead, they're in the midst of an epic family road trip following a route that has them wandering steadily southward.
