M3 AND ME

FROM SENIOR AIDE TO FUTURE PHYSICAL THERAPIST A SPECIAL FAREWELL FROM BAYRON

An awesome, yet wistful announcement: Bayron Garcia is leaving our team to become a physical therapist, and we couldn’t be prouder! We hope you enjoy his farewell to you and our staff below. –The M3 PT Team I’ve always known I wanted to do something that would help people in a way that was personally meaningful to me — after being in sports when I was younger, I think I was in a great environment to discover physical therapy as my path. But even though I’d never seriously doubted my path to become a physical therapist, the pandemic definitely brought a whole new series of challenges. One of the things that excites me the most about physical therapy is the opportunity to teach others how to decrease pain in their life and live a healthier, more effortless lifestyle (so long as they make the effort to exercise!). It’s a great feeling when you can help someone eliminate their lower back pain, making it easier to return to the activities they love. But how do you walk someone through an exercise, understand their form, pinpoint where their weight might be improperly placed, and prevent injury over FaceTime? Assisting patients and even fellow staff during the pandemic in their recovery was a rough challenge at many points. As a senior aide, I’ve taken on more of a mentorship role, and all of the social distancing and hygiene requirements affected the training process, although the adjustments were completely necessary.

“Soon, I’ll be going to Chapman University to attend PT school, and it’s a bittersweet feeling.”

On a positive note, I’ve never kept things cleaner than during the pandemic! I’ve definitely learned new things and picked up new habits for ensuring patients are always comfortable coming in to learn their exercises. Soon, I’ll be going to Chapman University to attend PT school, and it’s a bittersweet feeling. I’ve learned a lot from staff, administration, and patients alike, and I’ve made great friendships along the way. My coworkers and bosses at M3 PT have definitely been a massive highlight of my time here! I don’t think I could’ve gotten this far without them. As I start doing rotations and exploring even more facets of the physical therapy world, I’ll definitely be reminded of my M3 PT experience every day.

Thank you so much for everything — whether you are a staff member or patient, I’ll miss my time with you, the M3 family.

–Bayron Garcia

HOW TO ALIGN YOUR MONEY WITH YOUR VALUES Is Your Bank Polluting the Planet?

Identifying a ‘Green Bank’ Green banks are financial institutions designed to counteract the dirty dozen. As the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development puts it, these firms “facilitate private investment into domestic, low-carbon, climate-resilient infrastructure.” That includes things like renewable energy, water management, and waste management.
