Stronger Together
Protecting You and Continuing to Grow During COVID-19
In early March, a period of uncertainty and anxiety many of us had never experienced before started. Like many of you, I wanted to do all I could to protect myself, my family, and those I was responsible for. That included my staff and all of you! When the numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the U.S. began to climb, I made it my utmost priority to ensure that our staff and patients were safe. Almost immediately, we increased our cleaning measures and began practicing social distancing. This meant that any piece of equipment that a staff member or patient touched was immediately sanitized. We spaced our tables at least six feet apart and the clinic patient flow was reduced dramatically. There’s usually a cluster of patients in our office at any given time, and it’s been pretty quiet around here since implementing social distancing. But we saw the tremendous value in keeping everyone safe from this dangerous virus. As I write this in late April, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has announced plans to begin opening businesses back up, and we cannot wait to be operating at full capacity again soon. Looking back, I’m incredibly proud of how our Madden Physical Therapy Dauphin team has responded. They have accepted this challenge with open arms and tackled it head-on, doing all they could to support our patients. As a clinic that serves primarily older adult patients, we knew that many of you were vulnerable to this disease, but observing the stay-at-home order also meant that you might be more likely to have feelings of isolation and loneliness. We made it our mission to stay in touch with our patients, ensuring they were okay at home and asking if there was anything we could to do help. It has been a challenge, but it’s been wonderful to keep in touch with all of you.
I believe times of crisis are when true leaders step up and guide their teams through the storm. I’ve been trusting in the opportunities we have found to continue helping you and our staff, and I am proud of how well we have been able to respond as a unit. It wasn’t easy, but rather than dwell on the pandemic and what was lost this past spring, I decided to use the time as an opportunity to better myself. For nearly two years, I’ve been working on getting Madden Physical Therapy Dauphin off the ground and making it the best it can be for our patients. As a result, I’ve neglected myself a bit. With decreased patient flow and fewer responsibilities, I found time to care for myself. My fiancée, Maria, and I also got to form a stronger bond and spend more time together as well. As we continue to move forward, I want to encourage you to take care of yourself and remember that we are all going through this together. If we offer support to one another, we can make it out of this stronger together.
Stay safe and be well. Please let us know how we can help you!
