2022 WMGA Senior Men’s ‘A’ Team The Washington Metropolitan Golf Association Senior ‘A’ Team competition matches will begin in April and continue into the first part of May as needed. Division winners will proceed on to play single elimination quarter, semi-final, and final matches. We need the best senior golfers, age 55 and over, to represent Army Navy Country Club. Selection criteria for the team matches will be based on the 1 April 2022 handicaps (which are expected to be current and accurate). All matches are played at scratch. If you have a handicap index of 6.0 or below and are interested in being considered for the team, please contact the team co-captains, Steve Galing at (703) 407-0703 [email protected] or Lynn Wessman at (703) 626-4313 or [email protected]. 2022 Men’s Spring & Summer ‘A’ Teams The Northern Virginia Golf Association Men’s Regular A-team spring season for will start in late March/early April, and the Washington Metropolitan Golf Association Regular A-team summer season takes place in July. All matches played at scratch. For those with a handicap index of 3.8 or lower an A-team intra-squad match will be held on Sunday, 6 March (click here) at Arlington. At the completion of the match, the team roster for Spring 2022 will be set. The ‘B’ Team is open to all men with course handicaps ranging from 5 to 16. Matches are held on Saturdays and/or Sundays from late April thru July with playoffs going fromAugust thru October. Tryouts will be held on Sunday, 3 April (click here) at Fairfax, and on Saturday, 9 April (click here) at Arlington. SGLV - Senior Golf League of Northern Virginia The Senior Golf League of Northern Virginia was founded in 2004 to promote friendly competition between Senior Golfers at Country Clubs in Northern Virginia. Matches are played at scratch on Wednesdays about 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. ANCC needs low handicap senior golfers 50 years of age and older to play on the ANCC team. Spring Kick-Off Golf Tournament

The Spring Kick-Off Golf Tournament will be held on 2 April at Fairfax. This tournament format is one of the favorite formats of the year. This event sells out quickly every year! WNHGO: WOMEN’S NINE HOLE GOLF ORGANIZATION

CWGO has already kicked off its preparation for the 2022 golf season with the Rules Clinic on 26 February. Our season officially begins on Saturday, 26 March with the Spring Kickoff Luncheon and 9-hole Scramble. It’s a great time to hear all the fun activities in store for this year as we celebrate our 30th Anniversary. You can sign up now by clicking here or via the Club Calendar. WNHGO is getting ready to kick off the 2022 season and looking forward to a great year. Last year, we operated on a slightly modified schedule and successfully held most of our standard events and tournaments, while enjoying regular play days throughout the season. Although our country is still facing challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic, this season we are re-introducing more of our traditional activities, including the Spring Luncheon (March 22) and the ever-popular Ringers competition, both of which were canceled in 2020 and 2021. The 2022 WNHGO schedule may now be viewed on the ANCC Website Calendar. WGO-18: Women’s 18 Hole Golf Organization Swing Into Spring With WGO-18!

It’s time to shed those winter clothes and join the Women’s 18-Hole Golf Organization (WGO-18) if you haven’t done so already! Events begin 18 March and Play begins 1 April. Forever Fit (Hybrid)

Thursdays at 10:30 AM (45 minutes) This is a class for the young at heart who want to work on balance, flexibility, and light strengthening. Options will be offered for varying ability levels. It will be helpful to have a chair and a couple of light weights. Step Up Circuit Challenge (In Person) Tuesdays & Thursdays at 8:30 AM A combination of Step aerobics, full-body toning, and Pilates, all in one class! Please note that this class is offered in-studio only and is not available on Zoom.

Standard Classes Toning & Abs (Hybrid)

Tuesdays & Thursdays at 5:30 PM and Saturdays at 10:00 AM A full-body workout! We’ll work all major muscle groups with options for dumbells (or other weights), tubing, and sometimes body weight.

Slow Flow (Hybrid) Specialty Classes

Mondays at 10:00 AM In this class, students will learn the basics of Vinyasa Yoga in a gentle manner. There will be special attention to breath techniques, postural alignment and very safe transitions between poses. This slow flow class will inspire the body and mind to be mindful and energized, yet peaceful.

Pilates (Hybrid)

Mondays & Wednesdays at 8:30 AM The Wednesday class will incorporate the use of the stability ball! Enjoy an age-defying full body workout. Gain core strength, flexibility, and better balance while improving your posture and athletic performance!

Gentle Yoga (Hybrid)

We’ll warm-up, go through a series of asanas, then stretch. No equipment required, but you can bring your mat, blocks, and strap if you’d like! Tuesdays at 10:30 AM

Power Yoga (Hybrid)

Wednesdays at 6:00 PM This is a physically challenging class suitable for all levels. You will gain strength, balance, grace, flexibility, and endurance. Get ready to sweat!

Yoga Fusion (Hybrid)

This class includes a warm-up, vinyasa flow then a segment of strength training with yoga poses followed by stretching, cooldown and relaxation. Saturdays at 8:30 AM

Aquatics Renovation Updates Aquatics

The ANCC ARLAquatic Facility is taking shape with old decks dug up and new ones being poured, pump rooms and bathhouses going up, and plumbing and electrical connecting it all being laid. Once complete, our upper and lower pools and decks will provide family fun and relaxation for all. Near term, please click here to see what opportunities our members will have over the aquatic season while the new facility takes shape.
