We had no idea then that we would find dozens of other natural ingredients that would be even more exciting and even more beneficial, but in different ways. We did not anticipate the discovery of Oligo ® mineral-delivery technology or imagine that our Peak Performance Pack would be clinically proven on two separate continents and found to improve 25 key health markers. We had not learned of Dr. Larry Wang’s research on adenosine inhibition, or the multiple advantages of psyllium husk, the benefits of glucosamine, or the effect of cinnamon phenols and chromium on blood sugar control. We had no idea we would be teaming up with major universities for ongoing research. We had yet to learn that a household disinfectant could be made from 100% food-grade ingredients. But from that modest beginning, we have moved forward at a phenomenal pace to one discovery after another. Our mission of Enhancing the Lives of ThoseWe Touch® has been a guiding beacon to keep us on course since the very first day we were in business. In the beginning I believed the day would come when we would have a few individuals who would take the opportunity to build their Melaleuca businesses to perhaps an annual income of one or two hundred thousand dollars. I anticipated that most of our members would use their Melaleuca business to supplement their existing income, and that many lives would be rewarded financially because of their efforts. In truth, I was quite short-sighted. I had no idea that in just 31 years we would have several families that would actually exceed a million dollars a year, and that we would be sending checks to hundreds of thousands of families every month. I knew we were building something good. But I had no idea that it would grow and develop to what it is today. I was right about one thing though: the vast majority of Melaleuca
families have kept their jobs and use their Melaleuca income to supplement their current income. I was wrong about the size of that income however, as it has become obvious that the Melaleuca “supplemental” income often exceeds their income from their full- time employment. Nevertheless, we always encourage people to never quit their full-time job and to add their Melaleuca income to their original income, and if they follow our advice, their lives will be greatly enhanced. The success of our Marketing Executives is very exciting and fulfilling to me. Perhaps even more fulfilling is the fact that besides those who are building a business, more than a million other households use our products—not because they want to build a business, but because they love our products. Misi kami iaitu Meningkatkan Kehidupan Mereka yang Kami Sentuh (Enhancing the Lives of Those We Touch®) telah menjadi garis panduan untuk memastikan kami berada di landasan yang betul sejak hari pertama kami dalam perniagaan. Pada mulanya saya percaya hari ini pasti akan tiba apabila kami mempunyai beberapa individu yang akan mengambil peluang membina perniagaan Melaleuca mereka untuk kemungkinan memperolehi pendapatan tahunan sebanyak satu atau dua ratus ribu dolar. Saya menjangkakan bahawa kebanyakan ahli kami akan menggunakan perniagaan Melaleuca mereka untuk menambah pendapatan mereka yang sedia ada, dan ramai orang akan diberi ganjaran kewangan atas usaha mereka. Sebenarnya, saya tidak panjang fikiran. itulah kami setia sebagai pelanggan Melaleuca kerana produknya yang selamat dan berkesan. Membina perniagaan Melaleuca tidak pernah kami fikirkan, sehinggalah beberapa rakan melawat rumah kami dan bertanya kepada kami tentang produk tersebut. Kami berkongsi pengalaman produk kami dan hanya dengan itu, kami mendapat pendaftaran pertama kami,” kata Fauziah. Mustafa berkata bahawa ia membuatkan mereka berfikir tentang kemungkinan membina perniagaan dengan serius. Pada bulan pertama mereka membina perniagaan, pasangan itu menghabiskan dua hingga tiga jam sehari untuk menjalankan 7 Aktiviti Kritikal Pembinaan Perniagaan. Hasilnya? 27 pendaftaran, seorang Pengarah peribadi, seorang Pengarah peribadi 2, dan satu komisyen sebanyak RM9,525. “Hasilnya sangat memuaskan, kami sangat teruja dan ingin melakukan lebih banyak lagi,” jelas Mustafa. Bulan kedua mereka, September, menyaksikan mereka meluangkan masa selama 5 jam didalam aktiviti harian mereka, dengan matlamat untuk menambah lima nama dalam senarai kenalan dan membuat dua pembentangan sehari. Mereka juga mula mengikuti latihan tetap dan bekerjasama dalam menjalankan Aktiviti Kritikal. Ini telah menghasilkan komisen lebih daripada RM25,000. Fauziah berkata, “Sangat mudah untuk berkongsi tentang Melaleuca kerana banyak suri rumah sedang mencari produk yang lebih selamat. Laman web mesra penggunanya juga mudah, terutamanya untuk generasi muda kerana ramai lebih suka berbelanja secara dalam talian.” “Melaleuca adalah tentang perhubungan, dan ini adalah aspek yang sangat penting. Senior Directors 2 Fauziah Binti Abd Jalal and Mustafa Bin Sareh began their Melaleuca journey in July 2017 as happy product users, before deciding to build the business after enrolling their first customer by chance. “We’ve always been conscious of the products we use, which is why we’re loyal Melaleuca customers as the products are safe and effective. Building the business never came into mind, until some friends visited our home and asked us about the products. We shared our product experience and just like that, had our first enrollment,” Fauziah says. Mustafa said that got them thinking about the possibility of building the business for real. In their first month of building the business, the couple spent two to three hours a day to conduct the 7 Critical Business Building Activities. The results? 27 enrollments, one personal Director, one personal Director 2, and a commission of RM9,525. “The results were so satisfying, we were excited and keen to do more,” Mustafa explains. Their second month, September, saw them putting in 5 hours in their daily activities, with a goal of adding five names to the contact list and making two presentations a day. They also started attending regular trainings and tagged team in carrying out the Critical Activities. This resulted in a commission of more than RM25,000. Fauziah says, “It’s very easy to share about Melaleuca as many housewives are looking for safer products. Ketika mencari jalan penyelesaiannya, beliau menjumpai video oleh CEO Melaleuca Frank L. VanderSloot. Selepas menonton video itu, beliau kagum dengan banyaknya peluang yang menanti beliau dan menyedari bahawa Melaleuca adalah
Just before Shirley joined Melaleuca in March 2006, she was experiencing some serious financial challenges as several of her boutiques had high overhead costs and many other expenses. Whilst searching for a solution, she came across a video by Melaleuca CEO Frank L. VanderSloot. Watching the video, she was amazed at the abundance of opportunities that awaited her and realized that Melaleuca is a company that would allow her to be successful if she channeled her focus and energy into a business without the high overhead costs she used to incur. At that moment, Shirley made a firm decision to commit to building her Melaleuca business. “You have to be the type of leader you’d want to find, because you usually tend to attract people with the same interests,” Shirley explains, continuing, “But most importantly, you have to influence people and not be influenced.” Shirley practices what she preaches–she leads by example by focusing on the 7 Critical Business Building Activities, and being involved in all Fast Track activities and qualifying for every trip possible. This year, she qualified for the FTT to Sydney, Australia; and is now on her way to qualify for the ‘This Year I Will’ FTT to Beijing, China. Shirley also says that you have to set your goals, and be determined to achieve it. She says, “Many people do not succeed because their determination is just not strong enough. When we see the Corporate Directors from Taiwan, China, and even US, they are still working so hard even when they are already so successful. How could we not be like them?” “In Melaleuca, there are no secret formulas. It is all about learning, working, and pushing forward. It doesn’t matter who you are, how much experiences you have; as long as you are willing to work hard, you can definitely succeed with Melaleuca,” Shirley concludes.

What A Difference This Journey Has Made To say that 2017 is Executive Directors 9 Eric Toh and Stephanie Thian’s landmark year, is definitely an understatement. Their growth–advancing to Executive Director 7 in April, Executive Director 8 in June and to their current status of Executive Director 9 in July–has been phenomenal and is certainly not an easy feat! The winner of the most coveted award in Melaleuca–Marketing Executive

For Eric and Stephanie, their success in Melaleuca made all the difference for their family. Building the Melaleuca business has afforded them precious, valuable time with their two sons. “In our previous MLM businesses, we found ourselves constantly working from Monday to Sunday, with nary a day of rest. That’s not the life we want,” Eric says. Stephanie chimes in, “Our sons have always been our ‘WHY’. Now that they are at Primary 6 and Secondary 2, it is even more crucial for us to be there for them in their development and journey into adolescence.” Enjoying and appreciating the time freedom that has enabled them to build a stronger bond with their sons, Eric and Stephanie also says that their Melaleuca income has allowed them to provide their children with experiences that the couple themselves did not have in their childhood. Creating indelible memories together on family trips, such as their holiday in Japan last year as well as Taiwan and Shanghai this year, have been very fulfilling and the couple is thankful that they can be the best parents they could be. “I lost my father to a deadly disease when I was 9 years old, so I know all too well about seizing the moment and spending quality time with family above everything else,” Eric notes. The couple are also on their way to achieving total financial freedom. This year, they achieved their highest monthly income of RM244,677.46 when they advanced to Executive Director 8 in June. Most people can only dream of generating an annual income of that amount, but for Eric and Stephanie, this is not a dream but a reality. Besides that, they have also achieved lifetime earnings of almost RM4.3 million with Melaleuca. Now that’s an amazing financial reward, and certainly a far cry from their days of being saddled with multiple debts, prior to Melaleuca. “Now, we don’t have any outstanding debts except for our mortgage which we are planning to pay off by next year” shares the couple, who are five-time President’s Club winners, including this year. Eric and Stephanie have grand plans to end the year strong–enrolling another 20 new Preferred Customers, developing another 6 new personal Directors and, not to forget, achieving their ‘This Year I Will’ goal of advancing to National Director. But that’s not all. The couple has set their sights far and plan to advance to Corporate Director 3 by 2020, as well as help at least 10,000 households to convert their homes to Melaleuca and 500 business builders reach their goals of achieving time and financial freedom. “The potential for success at Melaleuca is unlike anything we’ve ever seen or experienced, and we know that we will be generously rewarded the more we help others succeed. Enrolling with Melaleuca was the best decision we’ve ever made in our lives. Every aspect of our lives has been enhanced- physically, financially and personally–in the past 7 years, what a difference this journey has made to our lives,” the couple shares happily.

The escalated growth of Eric and Stephanie’s organization stems from their belief that a team who works together, grows together. “We’ve worked hard to cultivate a fantastic team. Building and strengthening the leadership pipeline are important to ensure your organization has a healthy and consistent growth,” Eric explains, saying that he and Stephanie continuously encourage their entire team to participate in all company events and activities. “From weekly meetings to celebrations, and participation in Fast Track Trips–we motivate our team of builders to be present, active and accountable in all. Being consistent in your effort proves that it will yield the results that you plan for,” he continues. The couple’s leadership style and skills are certainly something to be admired. They firmly believe in leading by example, and this inspires their builders to emulate their effort, consistency and work ethics. “Leading by example is something we wholeheartedly believe in. There is no such thing as resting on our laurels, while the team does the work. No, that does not work for us,” Stephanie explains, saying that she and Eric never wavered in their personal activities of enrolling new Preferred Customers and developing new leadership each month. Case in point, from January to October 2017, Eric and Stephanie enrolled 46 new Preferred Customers and developed 6 new personal Directors. Most importantly, what also helped to accelerate the growth is the heavy and intense focus on Critical Activities 1 to 3, be it for themselves personally or for their organization. “We consistently conduct trainings to coach our team of builders to do things the right way, which helps them to inculcate the habit of consistently doing these critical activities. Setting daily goals of adding one name to our contact list, making five calls a day and being accountable by sharing our daily activities with our team is a system that works and can be duplicated successfully,” Stephanie says. This consistency has led their organization to reap amazing rewards–as at October, Eric and Stephanie have 287 active Directors and 2,941 Preferred Customers in their organization.

mereka. “Dalam perniagaan MLM kami sebelumnya, kami mendapati diri kami sentiasa bekerja dari hari Isnin hingga Ahad, dengan tiada hari rehat. Itu bukanlah kehidupan yang kami mahu,” kata Eric. Stephanie bersambung, “Anak-anak kami sentiasa menjadi ‘SEBAB’ kami. Sekarang mereka berada di Darjah 6 dan Tingkatan 2, ia adalah lebih penting bagi kami untuk bersama mereka dalam perkembangan dan perjalanan mereka ke alam remaja.” Menikmati dan menghargai kebebasan masa yang membolehkan mereka membina ikatan yang lebih kuat dengan anak-anak mereka, Eric dan Stephanie juga mengatakan bahawa pendapatan Melaleuca mereka telah membolehkan mereka memberi anak-anak mereka pengalaman yang pasangannya itu tidak berpeluang untuk merasai di masa kecil mereka. Mewujudkan kenangan yang tidak terhingga bersama-sama dalam pelancongan keluarga, seperti percutian mereka di Jepun tahun lepas serta Taiwan dan Shanghai tahun ini adalah sangat memuaskan dan pasangan itu bersyukur bahawa mereka boleh menjadi ibu bapa yang mereka inginkan kepada anak-anak mereka. “Saya kehilangan bapa kerana penyakit maut ketika saya berumur sembilan tahun, jadi saya tahu bahawa menghargai dan menghabiskan masa yang berkualiti dengan keluarga adalah melebihi segalanya,” kata Eric. Pasangan itu juga dalam perjalanan untuk mencapai kebebasan kewangan keseluruhan. Pada tahun ini, mereka mencapai pendapatan bulanan tertinggi sebanyak RM244,677.46 apabila mereka mara ke status Pengarah Eksekutif 8 pada Jun. Kebanyakan orang hanya boleh bermimpi menjana pendapatan tahunan sejumlah itu, tetapi untuk Eric dan Stephanie, ini bukanlah impian tetapi sebuah realiti. Selain itu, mereka juga telah mencapai pendapatan seumur hidup hampir RM4.3 juta dengan Melaleuca. Itulah ganjaran kewangan yang luar biasa, dan pastinya jauh daripada hari- hari mereka yang dibebani dengan pelbagai hutang, sebelum Melaleuca. “Sekarang, kami tidak mempunyai sebarang hutang tertunggak kecuali gadai janji kami yang kami rancang untuk menjelaskannya menjelang tahun depan!” kongsi pasangan pemenang lima kali Kelab Presiden Melaleuca, termasuk tahun ini. Eric dan Stephanie mempunyai rancangan besar untuk mengakhiri tahun ini dengan mendaftarkan lagi 20 Pelanggan Istimewa yang baru, membangunkan lagi 6 Pengarah peribadi dan, tidak lupa juga, mencapai matlamat ‘Tahun Ini Saya Akan’ untuk mara ke status Pengarah Nasional. Tetapi bukan itu sahaja. Pasangan ini telah melangkah jauh dan merancang untuk maju ke Pengarah Korporat 3 menjelang 2020, serta membantu sekurang-kurangnya 10,000 isi rumah untuk menukar rumah mereka ke Melaleuca dan 500 pembina perniagaan mencapai matlamat mereka untuk mencapai masa dan kebebasan kewangan. “Potensi kejayaan di Melaleuca tidak seperti apa yang pernah kami lihat atau alami, dan kami tahu bahawa kami akan mendapat ganjaran lebih banyak lagi kami membantu orang lain untuk berjaya. Untuk mengatakan bahawa tahun 2017 adalah tahun gemilang bagi Pengarah Eksekutif 9 Eric Toh dan Stephanie Thian, pastinya suatu pernyataan yang tepat. Pertumbuhan mereka–mara ke status Pengarah Eksekutif 7 pada bulan April, Pengarah Eksekutif 8 pada bulan Jun dan kepada status Pengarah Eksekutif 9 mereka pada bulan Julai–adalah fenomenal dan pastinya bukan satu pencapaian yang mudah! Pemenang anugerah yang paling dikehendaki dalam Melaleuca–Marketing Executive of the Year, pada tahun 2014 dan 2015, Eric menjelaskan dengan bangga, “Sejak kami menyertai Melaleuca pada tahun 2010, tahun ini adalah pertumbuhan terbesar bagi kami, dan itu adalah kerana kami mengembangkan bilangan organisasi Pelanggan Istimewa kami dengan empat angka. Pertumbuhan pesat organisasi Eric dan Stephanie berpunca dari kepercayaan mereka bahawa satu pasukan yang bekerjasama, berkembang bersama. “Kami telah berusaha keras untuk memupuk pasukan yang hebat. Membina saliran kepimpinan penting untuk memastikan organisasi anda mempunyai pertumbuhan yang sihat dan konsisten,” jelas Eric, sambil mengatakan bahawa beliau dan Stephanie terus menggalakkan seluruh pasukan mereka untuk mengambil bahagian dalam semua acara dan aktiviti syarikat. “Daripada mesyuarat mingguan kepada keraian, dan penyertaan dalam Fast Track Trip–kami mendorong para pembina untuk hadir, aktif dan bertanggungjawab terhadap semuanya. Menjadi konsisten dalam usaha anda membuktikan bahawa ia akan menghasilkan keputusan yang anda merancang,” katanya. Gaya kepimpinan dan kemahiran pasangan itu pastinya sesuatu yang dikagumi. Mereka berpegang kuat kepada kepimpinan melalui teladan, dan ini memberi inspirasi kepada pembina perniagaan mereka untuk mencontohi usaha mereka, konsistensi dan etika kerja. “Memimpin melalui teladan adalah sesuatu yang kami percaya dengan sepenuh hati. Tidak ada istilah beristirehat diatas kejayaan kami, sementara pasukan melakukan kerja. Tidak, itu bukan cara kami,” kata Stephanie sambil berkata bahawa beliau dan Eric tidak pernah henti dalam pendaftaran bulanan Pelanggan Istimewa mereka dan pembangunan kepimpinan baru. Contohnya, dari Januari hingga Oktober 2017, Eric dan Stephanie telah mendaftar 46 Pelanggan Istimewa baru dan membangunkan 6 Pengarah. Yang paling penting, apa yang membantu mempercepatkan pertumbuhan juga adalah tumpuan penuh dan intensif terhadap Aktiviti Kritikal 1 hingga 3, sama ada untuk mereka sendiri atau organisasi mereka. “Kami secara konsisten menjalankan latihan untuk melatih pasukan pembina perniagaan kami untuk melakukan perkara yang betul, yang membantu mereka untuk memupuk tabiat melakukan aktiviti kritikal secara konsisten. With Effort, No One Gets Left Behind Executive Director 6 Win Wong’s enrollment into Melaleuca in March 2016 stemmed from her desire to use better and safer products for the wellbeing of her family. It didn’t cross her mind to build a Melaleuca business at the beginning. “I thought it would be good to switch to a better and safer brand. My daughter is allergic to chlorine and it pained me to see her scratching her skin non-stop. No other products were able to soothe her sensitive skin, until we tried DermaCalm and Renew™ Intensive Skin Therapy,” Win explains. A former MLM entrepreneur herself, Win continues,

Win also strived to improve her own personal performance, noting that leading by example will warrant organization growth. “I don’t believe in just telling my team what to do, I need to walk the talk too. And so, I set a monthly goal for myself to enroll 8 customers and develop 1 personal Director,” she explains. With 150 personal customers enrolled and 11 personal Directors developed between March and October 2017 alone, Win certainly lived up to her expectations, advancing 9 statuses to her current status of Executive Director 6. After Convention 2017, Win also sat down with her personal Directors to identify their “This Year I Will” goals, and committed to help achieve them. She makes sure that her business builders maintain an average of 200 names in their contact list and together they categorize the names into different pools–hot, warm and cold. They then discuss on ways to approach those contacts and report the results of their presentations daily. “I believe anyone can succeed in Melaleuca. When you look at the Millionaires Club, you will realize that the Marketing Executives who have achieved cumulative lifetime earnings of at least RM1 million are ordinary people like you and me. This platform is suitable for everyone and exactly what I was looking for! No one gets left behind if you’re willing to put in the effort,” Win says, sharing her observations at Convention 2017. That strengthened Win’s resolve to embrace Melaleuca’s mission of enhancing lives. “Melaleuca has enriched my life in so many ways–the apparent ones being time and financial freedom. I want to help others succeed in Melaleuca too–at the very least, improve their living standards by using better and safer products,” Win asserts. Win looks forward to spending more time with her family and traveling abroad every month this year. “As for my goal, this year I will develop 4 new personal Senior Directors and advance to National Director. This might seem like a very big goal, but I will try my best to help my team to achieve their goals!” Win promises.
“I was not open to listening to a Melaleuca presentation at the beginning.” However, the more she learned about the products, the more potential she saw in the Melaleuca business opportunity to build a long-term sustainable business. “Melaleuca products are daily necessities that everyone needs, and this presents a much bigger market compared to the businesses that I was doing at that time,” she says. Within 4 months of building the business, Win advanced to Senior Director 2-a truly exceptional achievement. However, as with any other businesses, building a successful Melaleuca business is not without its challenges. “I noticed a slowdown in my organization growth rate sometime late 2016 and realized that it was due to the declining reorder rate. What I observed was that most customers, upon enrollment, tend to buy many different types of products in their first order. Initially I thought my business builders and I have done a good job in introducing the products,” Win shares. Win set about to improve and looked at effective ways to increase the reorder rate. She saw the importance of understanding customer’s needs and then sharing the products according to those needs, through time. “We did this through consistent coaching and mentoring sessions that helped me and the business builders improve on our product knowledge, so that we’re able to educate our customers on the products that will meet their needs and follow up regularly in the months to come. This helped greatly in increasing the reorder rate,” Win notes, while explaining that this encouraged the customers to shop month after month. “The 7 Critical Business-Building Activities, especially Activities 1 to 4, are really crucial in building a successful Melaleuca business and ensuring sustainability in the long run. Our emphasis is to educate customers to switch to the Melaleuca brand and this is not only doable, but also sustainable, as Melaleuca has a wide range of products and household necessities at reasonable prices, that appeals to people from all walks of life,” Win states, adding that she continually stresses to her business builders the importance of being a passionate Melaleuca product user themselves. She maintains that it differentiates them as quality business builders, because their motivation is to enhance people’s lives by educating them on healthier shopping options.

Walau bagaimanapun, seperti perniagaan lain, untuk membina perniagaan Melaleuca yang berjaya pasti ada cabarannya. “Saya perhatikan kelembapan dalam kadar pertumbuhan organisasi saya pada akhir 2016 dan menyedari bahawa ia disebabkan oleh kadar pesanan semula yang merosot. Apa yang saya perhatikan adalah kebanyakan pelanggan, semasa pendaftaran, cenderung membeli banyak jenis produk dalam pesanan pertama mereka. Pada mulanya saya fikir pembina perniagaan saya dan saya telah melakukan pekerjaan yang baik dalam memperkenalkan produk,” Win berkongsi. Win merancang untuk memperbaiki dan melihat cara yang berkesan untuk meningkatkan kadar pesanan semula.
