Resident Manager ’s Message

Dear SLND Family,

2020 has not been a great year and there is not one who wouldn't agree. The year gone by has left an indelible mark on each of our lives, affected us in ways we could not even think of. Fromwrecking our health and sanity to forcing, us to adopt ways and means of living and working that were not a piece of cake to adapt. And while we can only reflect on the things that 2020 taught us, to cherish each moment of life, to not take it for granted, to spend time with loved one, to expect the unexpected, to overcome and keep going despite being faced with extra-ordinary odds, all we can hope from 2021 is to be kinder to humanity in more ways than one. I want to reiterate my appreciation for each and every one of you and to thank you for your continuing commitment. Through all of this year’s challenges, we have pulled together to support one another.

Dhiraj’s Corner

Dear Colleagues,

All of us are witnesses to the havoc created by Covid 19. While all of us have come out stronger from the experience, I urge you all not to lose focus and remain vigilant in your areas to ensure that we do not become complacent and continue to exercise the same cautions as before. Wear masks, wash your hands and maintain Social distancing. I am sure that with these sustained efforts we shall defeat corona and good times will be back soon.

CSR – It’s in Our Nature

In The Memories of Rahul Negi, Club 19

We lost an amazing soul last year in Rahul Negi. A smiling face was gone and his absence was felt by everyone. Like a family, we got together and collected INR 1,40,300 to support his immediate family in these trying times. Our moto has been the same. Let’s take care of each other in these trying times. Wherever you are; we wish that you are in a happy space Rahul, and we pray that your family is able to overcome this unbearable loss…

Engagement Activities

International Literacy Day – Back To School

Nobody can deny the effect; lockdown had on the minds of children, who had been away from normal hustle and bustle of life. Keeping this in mind; we scheduled an invigorating session in the hotel for these young minds on International Literacy Day. They were welcomed in a secure manner. Event started with our Hygiene Manager training them on Best Practices of SAFE HANDS, followed by an interactive session with the chefs who taught them how to make easy, scrumptious salads at home. They were treated with the goodies from the hotel and went back home with fun filled memories.

Breast Cancer Awareness

The times had been tough, and we made sure that the tough starts rolling. With our sustained and continued focus on overall wellness, SLND organized a Breast Cancer Awareness camp in the hotel. Theme of the day was Pink… Ladies got along talking to the doctors who had especially been invited to talk on the subject. It was a knowledgeable session and very well received by everybody. In the end; as a mark of respect and identifying with the cause; ladies and gents got together in the lawns of the hotel to make a symbol that resonates with the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

Virtual Town Hall Session with Chairman

The virtual town hall session was a huge success shere colleagues got first hand chance to listen to our Chairman and also saw the senior management interact with them and gave them the account of the group’s performance, what initiatives the group had taken to overcome these difficult times and what was expected in the future. It was for the first time, that colleagues saw the Chairman and her team together in a meeting room. All the precautions were taken to ensure that proper social distancing is maintained in the banquet hall, and colleagues see the conference without any interruptions. They thoroughly enjoyed the session and wet back to their work areas gainfully informed.

Towel Art with Hospitality Students

Last year was also important and taught us all the importance of technology. We all are witnesses to attending sessions on zoom and Teams. Continuing our relationship with the Educational institutes; we organized a Towel Art Training Session with a hospitality Institute, wherein the students got a real time chance to interact with our Housekeeping champions who taught them the various techniques of Towel Art and answered all their questions. It was our way of connecting with them.

Coffee with ABHI!

Coffee with Abhi was another initiative that We started to listen to the voice of our colleagues who had come back to the hotel after the lockdown.

It was our way to ensure that they are given a platform to interact with the senior management, exchange their view points and also that their issues if any are also heard at the same time. This was very well accepted and has proved to be a productive initiative. We have taken actions based on feedback given by the colleagues. It has ensured that we provide a better environment to work in. Colleagues are happy and also have first hand information about the happenings in the hotel.

Guest Delight Program

Keep the morale high by engaging colleagues. This is the mantra at SLND. We reintroduced GDP Celebrations to bring a smile on the faces of our colleagues who have been working with double the zeal to ensure that guests have a memorably safe experience. Different departments organize it every month as part of the celebration.

Earth Hour - 2021

Earth Hour – 2021 - Celebrations With The Guests

It was Earth Hour with a difference this time in SLND. Housekeeping team worked overtime to create a remarkable depiction of Melting Glaciers due to rising temperatures in our Water Body. Centre piece in lobby was again a big draw with our Guests who participated in the amazingly curated Tree of hope . They lit the candles on the tree, which showcased our commitment to mother earth.
