As we move in to the fall, let’s do our part to help Jay and his crew maintain the golf course. Please fix your ball marks and one more on each green, either replace your divot or use the sand-seed mix bottles provided on the carts to fill the area. On the Tee Box please pick up the broken tees and put them in the boxes provided to keep them looking clean and litter free.
Here are a few reminders as well about some golf rules and regulations.
P l ease pay a tt ent ion to the dres s code . MEN: Shirts shall have a collar, mock turtleneck or blade collar. All shirts mush have sleeves and be tucked in at all times with the exception of a full button camp shirt (Tommy Bahama-style).
WOMEN: Leggings may be worn under skirts or shorts.
If you are inviting guests to play, please let them know of our policies beforehand as it can be a little awkward if they are already on property. With the daylight hours changing in September, the hours of operations will change as well. The Pro Shop will be open 6:30am to 6:00pm with the first tee time starting at 7:00am. Please make sure you check in with the Pro Shop before your round. Don’t miss our demo days this month with PING, TITLEIST and PXG. Remember that we are qualified club fitters with the top loft and lie machine in the game to improve your scores!
We look forward to seeing you at the club ,
Joe Haggerty, Vince Santopietro, Mark Smith, Jake Andrada
Congratulations to Director of Golf Joe Haggerty and his team for winning the Junior Golf Development Award for the Northern Section of the Southern California PGA! Seven Oaks and our professional staff are dedicated to developing the next generation of players.

With October fast approaching our fall maintenance kicks into high gear on the golf course. Beginning the last week of September we will be scalping the original Back-9 fairways, tees, approaches and the rough around the greens in preparation for over-seeding, we’ll be seeding these areas the first week of October. We will also be scalping the Oaks-9 tees and approaches at the end of this week and seeding them on Monday and Tuesday of next week. The West-9 tees and approaches will be October 9th & 10th. As of this writing, all Back-9 greens have been seeded at least two weeks and their germination is coming along very nicely. We put the first mowing on the Back-9 greens last week. The warm weather last week really helped to germinate all the seed, and then the cooler weather we have now will push the bent grass to spread. We are in a great weather pattern for growing in these new greens.
We have finished all the construction work and all the sod has been installed around the new bunkers now. We look forward to the next few weeks of growing in the winter rye grass and the Back-9 greens. Before we know it, the weather will be cool and the course will be playing differently than it has the last several months during the high heat.

Cardio Tennis
Cardio Tennis is a fun, sociable heart pumping fitness class on a tennis court, open to everyone, and no Tennis experience is needed! If you don’t have a racquet or you feel your racquet is outdated, don’t worry, we have plenty of Demo racquets you can try out. Wednesdays 6:30 – 8pm & Thursdays 8 - 9:30am. $15 per person. This program is a fast moving, very intensive hitting and drilling course. The emphasis is on playing points and hitting ‘zillions’ of balls. Must have a USTA rating 3.5 and above. For Wednesdays call Jason at 661-717-4217 and Jonni at 714-366-2985 for Thursdays. Jonni’s Adult Beginner Tennis Drills Liveball
Red Ball Future Stars Thursdays 4-5pm, ages 5-8 years old.
This Quick start program uses fun games and drills to help develop good ball tracking skills. Students will also learn proper court movement and basic swing patterns to enhance hand-eye coordination and ball striking skills. Big, easy-to-hit red balls will be used to accelerate their learning process.
Orange Ball Tuesday and Thursday 4-5:30pm, ages 7-10.
Players ready to play on a slightly larger court. The classes are designed to continue building athletic skills while learning or refining the skills necessary to serve, rally and score.
Men’s Advanced Leagues (4.0, 4.5)
Thursday’s at 6pm. October 4 th – October 24 th . We will have both Singles and Doubles with this 4-week league. Contact Jason Broussard at 661-717-4217.
Green Ball Tuesday and Thursday 4-5:30pm, ages 7-10.
Green ball is designed for beginner to intermediate level players ages 7-10. We coach using a rally-based curriculum and focuses on scoring, serve and serve return with sound footwork. Players learn how to properly position themselves to execute ground strokes and volleys, hit with purpose, serve and ultimately sustain a rally of varying speed and duration.
Tennis Tip How to finally beat the dreaded lobber. The lobber’s secret weapon is actually us. It’s our power, our pace and our lack of self- control and patience. You have to be patient, you can’t keep charging the net. You have to keep changing it up during the point until you find the right ball to attack.
Yellow Ball Tuesday and Thursday 4-5:30pm, ages 11-18.
On court drills will include point play, dead ball drills, fitness drills and mental toughness skills. Match play focuses on players using tactical and technical skills developed during practice. It consists of players understanding the fundamentals of scoring, using tac- tics to exploit their opponent’s weaknesses and playing to their own strengths.

Pickleball Tip Serving: The key emphasis here is to RELEASE the ball, not throw the ball or toss the ball up like a Tennis serve. Many beginner players with Tennis or Racquetball experience will fall into this trap. Try to hit your serve deep so it’s more difficult for them to hit a good return and for them to get to the net quicker.

With the combination of foam rolling and restorative movements, the two elements can be the answer to all your muscle soreness and help with hip, quad and lower back pain. We will also be showing you how to use tools such as the stick, lacrosse balls, and power bands to restore your body to its full range of motion and help in the recovery process.
