Controls for managing risks COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN

To access University premises or premises where University operated programs are held staff and students are required to: • Stay home if you feel unwell: If you start to feel unwell and have any symptoms, however mild, please do not come to campus. RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) kits are available from Public Health. Visit the Tasmanian website for information on how to get a RAT kit. • If you are a close contact but have no symptoms, you should work or study from home. • Be fully vaccinated or have an exemption and wear a mask. • New staff and students are required to complete the 2022 Safety and Wellbeing Induction on MyLO • Comply with Public Health directions. • Comply with our face mask requirements: Depending on levels of COVID-19 in the community, our face mask requirements will be red (mandated in all indoor settings), orange (mandated in certain higher risk indoor settings) or green (individual choice). The more space between people, the harder it is for the virus to move between people. • Maintain at least 1.5m from others. If this is not possible, minimise the duration of contact and consider additional controls. • Consider using larger spaces for learning and teaching, research and other activities. • Utilise digital technology for learning and teaching, and to hold meetings. • Consider holding walking meetings, or meet outdoors if weather permits. • Wear a properly fitted mask when physical distancing is not possible and in poorly ventilated settings. • Clean your hands frequently with alcohol based hand rub or soap and water. • Cover your mouth and nose with a bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Dispose of used tissues immediately and clean hands regularly. • try to limit sharing of equipment, objects, tools or vehicles, but where this is not feasible, use provided cleaning products and safe work procedures so that they can be cleaned before and after each use.

Managing transmission on campus COVID-19 RESPONSE

If you are diagnosed as COVID positive please notify the University by completing the COVID-19 Positive Test Result form on ServiceNow to enable review by the Response Team, notification of the local area if required and update to our exposure site page . The Response Team will monitor cases in the University community to: • Establish links between cases, close contacts and locations. • Regularly liaise with Public Health to assist in decision making. • Help inform on campus management. If you or a member of your household are required to isolate or quarantine, you must comply with the Public Health directions provided to you. You may return to campus once you are cleared by Public Health and are symptom free. The University’s Operational Requirements outlines expected COVID safe behaviours. All staff and students should review the Operational Requirements regularly to ensure the way they work and study is appropriate.

Minimising disruption to delivery of core functions BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLANNING

The Government is unlikely to implement further lockdowns, but they may occur in future. To be prepared: • Take work home each night to facilitate working remotely. • Keep critical access lists updated. • Review key points of dependency (e.g. key lecturers) and consider distributing work. • Plan remote teaching where possible. • Ensure COVID safe plans are in place for activities which breach physical distancing limits. Disruption will be caused by isolation of positive cases and close contacts. Plan for: • Remote delivery of learning and teaching activities. • Reallocation of staff duties to cover those in isolation. • Potential delay or postponement of learning and teaching schedules. • Continuation of core work despite temporary loss of staff. • Changes to work behaviours to prevent or minimise transmission.

Leaders of people must keep close contact with their teams and team members PEOPLE LEADERS

We understand people were feeling fatigued heading into the end of last year after a period of rapid change during 2020 and 2021. To foster wellbeing in 2022: • Be aware that some staff may feel anxious as COVID-19 is transmitted in Tasmania and NSW. Be prepared to listen and spend time with your teams. • Support staff as they initiate review of their spaces and make any necessary changes to how they work, such as seeking alternative spaces, rostering, or modifying how they deliver their key functions. • Be mindful of business continuity during the pandemic, and maintain business continuity plans so they can be enacted at short notice. • Maintain awareness of leave provisions. Importantly, we need to look out for each other, and look after each other.
