What our clients say Making a Difference, One Client at a Time

If you’ve read our previous newsletters, you know we always talk about the cases and situations our clients are in. As one of our clients, we want you to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Regardless of your situation, we will help you find the resolution to become whole again after your tragedy. One of the ways we do that is through our staff. Our staff consistently displays awareness and empathy for our clients, and those qualities turn into stories that surprise us. Finding Peace After a Freak Accident Back in January 2017, just days after New Year’s, a client of ours suffered an injury where she least expected it. She was on her computer replying to emails when she felt sudden, severe pains. She turned around to find that her manager had stabbed her in the back. Due to a mistake in the manager’s medication, she was having hallucinations, which caused her to attack our client. After the attack, our client needed several operations, and she fought for her life. Still, during recovery, she felt broken, constantly asking herself why this had happened — and at work of all places. Despite the fact that she was in need of compensation, her insurance company refused to give her the benefits she deserved. That’s when she reached out to us.

it, their immediate response was to dig into their own pockets to buy food for our client. Everyone pitched in to purchase several days’ worth of food, and later that day, another staff member delivered the food to our client. These are just a couple examples of the staff at Pacific Workers’ Comp going above and beyond. Regardless of the situation you’re in, know that we will fight for you and get you the compensation you deserve.

It’s not their job to care about you, but they genuinely want you to succeed every step of the way. I would definitely recommend Pacific Workers’ Comp. I wasn’t a believer at first, as I didn’t think anyone was going to help me, but this team really did.” Kindness at No Extra Cost Another client of ours was at the office of one of our primary treating physicians when a doctor there heard our client’s stomach growling loudly. When the doctor asked if she was okay, she replied that she hadn’t eaten in several days because she has no money. Her temporary disability benefits had been recently cut off (which we’re currently fighting to fix!).

When we asked about her experience, she was eager to share her journey with us.

– The Lawyers For Injured Workers

“Pacific Workers’ Comp took the time to hear me out, care for me, and reassure me that everything was going to be okay. Everyone, from administration to the lawyers, was so welcoming.

The doctor called us, and as soon as our people at the Concord office heard about

What a Furry Frie The Power o

With National Pet Day coming up fast, we want to highlight the impact a pet can have on your family. Not only can they be good company, but they can also provide other benefits to improve overall well-being.

Pets help children socialize and improve verbal skills. Even if you have a child who struggles with communicating with people, you may have seen them chattering away to your family pet. The simple presence of an animal allows kids to practice talking and socializing with others without fear of embarrassment or humiliation.

The Top 3 NHL Players of All Time

Pets can provide emotional therapy. Recent studies from the Journal of Behavioral Medicine have indicated that house pets can help speed up your child’s recovery time after an injury and reduce their stress, anxiety, and blood pressure. This is more pertinent for autistic children and those who suffer from PTSD. A pet also gives a child a safe space to pour out all their fears and anger. Without that, some kids project their emotions onto other children, often becoming bullies in the process.

On April 4, NHL teams will play the last games of the 2019–20 season, and playoffs will begin shortly after. While current NHL stars like Connor McDavid and Nikita Kucherov are sure to light up the ice, this is the perfect time of year to reflect on some of the greatest NHL players of all time. Though NHL history is full of outstanding players, three individuals always enter the discussion: Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, and of course, the one and only Wayne Gretzky. Here are some interesting facts about these legendary players! Gordie Howe Gordie Howe, also known as “Mr. Hockey,” played professional hockey for 32 seasons between the NHL and the World Hockey Association, and he achieved some impressive numbers during his career. Howe was known for being tough, and the term“Gordie Howe hat trick ‘’ was coined in his honor and is used when a player scores a goal, makes an assist, and gets into a fight all in one game. Aside fromWayne Gretzky, Howe is the only player in NHL history to record 800-plus goals. Bobby Orr Bobby Orr holds the record for the most points and assists by a defender in one season, with 139 and 102 recorded, respectively. He was known for surging forward to assist offense, and his style remains the gold standard for defensive play in the NHL. After retiring, Orr was awarded the Lester Patrick Trophy in recognition of his contributions to the sport. Wayne Gretzky Often labeled as the best hockey player of all time, Gretzky holds a long and storied list of records as an offensive player. He remains the only NHL player to record 200 points in a single season, which is a feat he accomplished not once, not twice, but four times. Gretzky also holds the record for most goals in a single season (92) and for being the fastest to reach 50 goals in a season in just 39 games.

Where to ‘Park’ This Spring

Pets build confidence and teach responsibility.

Best Outdoor Adventure Spots

Children as young as 3 years old can build confidence by having the responsibility of caring for a pet. Even something as simple as filling your dog or cat’s water bowl twice a day can help a kid develop a sense of responsibility. As children get older, you can give them more responsibilities for the pet. This will help them develop reliability and strengthen the bond between the animal and your child. While a pet can provide several benefits to a family, it’s important to choose one that suits your family’s lifestyle. A turtle, fish, or hamster will require

With spring in full swing and National Earth Day on April 22, it’s the best time to get out and enjoy everything our local scenery has to offer. San Francisco Bay and the surrounding areas have some of the best national parks and hiking trails in the country. If you’re a fan of the outdoors, there are several parks and trails you definitely need to check out.

Redwood Regional Park

This park is located just a few miles over the ridge from downtown Oakland. It’s home to large, beautiful redwood trees and has an exciting past. In the mid-1800s, the forest was logged extensively for materials, wiping out many of the original trees. The trees in the park now are third growth, but many are still over 100 years old! Experience the flora and fauna yourself by taking hikes on the many scenic trails.

less playtime and can be left home with minimal care. If you have an active family that likes to go on long walks or likes to play in the yard, then a dog might be the perfect fit. Regardless of your pet preference, though, if you feel your family needs an animal addition, be sure to check your local animal shelter’s website!

Tilden Regional Park

Best known as “the jewel of the East Bay Park system,”Tilden Regional Park has something for everyone. Its seasonal recreation activities have become a staple of childhood for locals in the area. For kids, there are carousel rides, picnic areas, and even a spot to jump into Lake Anza! Want to get lost in nature? Enjoy Tilden’s 2,079 acres of natural beauty.

Robert Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve

Unknown to some East Bay residents is the dormant volcano, Round Top. It’s one of the park’s highest peaks and is made up of lava and volcanic debris from the 10 million-year-old volcano. What’s more, in the northern half of the preserve, there are cross-sections of exposed bedrock. This makes the park an outdoor laboratory for studying volcanism in the central coast ranges.

Briones Regional Park

This park is located right in the heart of central Contra Costa County, and it’s filled with 6,255 acres of shady canyons and grassy hills. The rolling landscape makes it perfect for hiking and horseback riding. If you’re a photographer, make sure you get a

shot of all the coyotes, squirrels, red-tailed hawks, turkey vultures, and black-tailed deer!

Each one of these parks provides something unique for the nature lover in your family. For more information on any one of these parks, be sure to visit EBParks.org .

The Best Locations for Spring Blooms

See Spring Bloom In These Beautiful Locations

This natural phenomenon even inspired the creation of the annual Wildflower Festival in midsummer, which features nature walks, art, photography, culinary experiences, and more. For a truly unique experience, you can even ascend the town’s titular Crested Butte to spot some rare alpine sunflowers next to the picturesque West Elk Mountains.

Spring is here, which means beautiful flowers are finally showing themselves after a long

winter. Here are some of the best places in the U.S. to see flower blossoms and welcome the season. Great Smoky Mountains The Great Smoky Mountains National Park stretches across North Carolina and Tennessee, and while its scenery is beautiful year-round, the park is especially alluring to nature enthusiasts during the spring. Through this season, miles of lady’s- slipper orchids, irises, cardinal flowers, and lilies dot its lush green landscape. It’s dubbed “Wildflower National Park” throughout this time of year, and you can experience it by car or on foot. The park also offers expert-led tours that weave through the flowers during their peak bloom.

Antelope Valley The California Poppy Reserve in Lancaster,

California, is a 1,780-acre park that features sloping hills covered with fields of vibrant orange, yellow, and red poppies in the spring. Warm temperatures and heavy rainfall across Southern California during this time of year create a brief period of thick blooms as far as the eye can see. And while the poppies can be enjoyed from the comfort of your car, the best way to experience them is to walk the leisurely Antelope Loop Trail for a breathtaking, up-close adventure. Spring flora is gorgeous and naturally attracts large crowds of people every year. If you plan to visit any of these destinations, just remember that their ecosystems are delicate. Respect park signs, stay on designated trails, and do your part to make sure these flowers return year after year for future generations to enjoy.

Crested Butte Crested Butte, Colorado, is best known for its winter sports and summer hikes. But recently it has drawn the attention of flower enthusiasts for its unique pink, orange, and gold alpine wildflowers that appear in the spring.
