*May Contain Nuts It’s been three and a half years since the launch of my first show - ‘The Art Of Surprise’, and this latest collection brings together ‘Impossimals’ old and new with a few odd surprises thrown in for good measure. They were all immense fun to paint and I’m going to have even greater fun telling you about all the stories behind them. As usual the collection started with me wondering if I’m some kind of magnet for strange things, as life really does seem to get weirder and weirder. Is it just me or does everything in today’s society seem to carry some kind of advice that used to form part of general common sense? They are often a source of constant amusement, from Superman capes that warn children that ‘Wearing does not enable the user to fly’ to the obligatory ‘May contain nuts’ on a bag of pistachios. However, it’s generally the ‘nuts’ of life that make things so interesting; the quirky unexpected things you see and do or the eccentric characters you meet quite often form a good part of your memories and can be looked back on with fondness. So for that ‘nutty’ almost childlike side we all have when we stamp our own mark of individuality on life this new collection - ‘May Contain Nuts’, is for you.

MEET THE LUBBA’S Over the last four years I have painted the different stages of this real life family. Starting with ‘Mr Lubba Lubba’ we witnessed the first date; the falling in love with ‘Lucinda’ and finally the engagement in ‘Lubba In Love’. Now comes the final and latest instalment of this loving and complete family. Mr & Mrs Lubba are still in love and have now been joined by two children. The stripes still form the eternal shield of love with their heart shape.They share the memories of the last thirty years with the rose and heart paddle from their first ever meeting on a blind date all those years ago.

REVOLUTION The ring is your body being driven through life by the emotional driven heart at a speed which seems to accelerate with each passing year. You pass people every day in the street with barely a glance; faces merging into a blur as you follow your own path. Stand in front of the piece and watch life pass either side of you; the slower you go the more you see. Each Impossimal on the rings show different characteristics; some are interested in others, some are more determined to go faster and others look afraid, but the shadows do not show this. Only the outer shell of the emotionally driven body is seen. Maybe the next revolution will come when we all stand still...
