This is getting really exhausting. I thought that having two out of the house with two to go would be less stress, less time-juggling, less of everything. Boy was I wrong! It seems like all I do is drive and run now. From the time I leave work until the time I flop inmy chair, then have to get right back up to finish things up for the day, I am running. I think lots of good thoughts like, I am gonna go hit a few golf balls today… or, I think that I should go have coffee with Hope today… or, maybe I will run by and hang out with my mom for an hour today. And then I walk in the door of my house, the new dog has eaten the couch and there is foam everywhere, Foster texts me ’cause he just found out that he doesn’t have workouts and needs to be picked up from the high school, Brinkley has dance right after school and… oh yeah, Hope is quarantined with Covid. And… it doesn’t stop until 7:30, 8:30, or 9 depending on the day. Which is why, when I see you, you say to me, man, you WHAT A CRAZY JANUARY!

• Eat healthy meals: Nutrition plays a huge role in heart health. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, legumes, skinless chicken and leanmeats, and fatty fish such as salmon should all be in your diet. Saturated and trans fats, salt, and added sugar should all be avoided. You should also limit your salt intake, especially if you already have high blood pressure. • Manage your stress: Stress can raise blood pressure, so do your best to find daily ways to relax. Exercising, getting adequate sleep, stretching before bed, or taking a nightly warm shower are all things that could help with relaxation. Alternatively, scheduling 15 minutes of quiet time each day to unwind can also be helpful. The heart is a muscle, remember? The less stressed out you are, the less tension and stress you place on your heart. The best approach to keep your heart strong and healthy is to exercise regularly. PATIENT SPOTLIGHT "Pittman Physical Therapy has been there since the beginning of my injury adventures. Recently, I attended a basketball camp with my team at Briarcrest and dislocated my knee. Previously, Pittman had helped me recover from a foot surgery, so of course I went straight to them to help me with my knee recovery. I tried not to have surgery, but if I wanted to play Basketball my sophomore season, Dr. Biggers and my PT said I would have to have surgery. I was told that I would have a 6 month recovery, but with the help of my physical therapists and the hard work I put in, I fully recovered in 4 1/2 months. I worked with Mallory, Jeff, Tessa, Maranda, and my PT said I would have to have surgery. A Crazy January continued look tired, or have you lost weight? NO. I AM tired and I hide the weight really well. Needless to say, January was really crazy. With school starting back up, the new office opening up, Hope getting sick, Stone going back to college, Soph going back to LA. Just a little stressful. All that to say that I will totally miss this time in my life real soon. It sounds like I am complaining. I might be a little bit, but not for long… next week will be great. Tomorrow is a new day. I tell my kids constantly that I will miss the time in the car with them when it is over. They still apologize, though.

with a knee thing. It is getting better, but it is taking some time. She is a little worried about how it will do on stage. I am excited to watch her crush it, though. I need to go for support. Sometimes just knowing that I am in the audience gives her the confidence to go for it. From a medical standpoint, clearly :). Baseball is in full swing. I think that preseason games begin this month. I can’t keep up, though. High school ball is so much different than middle school baseball, from the workouts, to the practices. When the season starts, I think there are games every day. Either JV or Varsity will be playing 5-7 days a week. That is a lot of baseball. I am EXCITED.

well. I don’t know why it scares me for him to drive. I think that it is that he is a lot like me and is a rule follower. He will freak out a bit when behind the wheel because he wants to do the right thing, but we all know, there are a lot of folks out there that don’t follow the rules. He puts his phone in the glove box when he buckles up. He checks his mirrors and talks to me constantly about what he is doing, not doing, needs to improve on, what he has gotten better at, and how he will be fine withmore practice. I know he will. If you run into me, ask me about the four-way stop story. It is funny. Brinkley has her first dance convention in a week or so. She has been dealing

When Jennifer came to us, she had been in a lot of pain. “The pain in my neck and shoulders was pretty bad. It was preventing me from sleeping and made work and hobbies difficult. I am an avid walker but had been unable to walk my dogs (who LOVE our walks) for months! The PT sessions, as well as the exercises to do from home, helped me get my normal life back! Sleep is almost 100% — the pain is gone and I am looking forward to my mountain vacation. Mallory and Trey were excellent at showing me how to improve my pain as well as giving me measures to PREVENT pain in the future. Do not hesitate to get physical therapy! Pittman can help YOU! Either you can stay in pain or you can go to Pittman where they show YOU how to change YOUR life!” Jennifer Tanner
