LOCALLY WHO IS MADD?

MADD Southwest Florida is a nonprofit dedicated to the people who live in and visit our beautiful community.  We are a dedicated team of volunteers and staff focused on ensuring our roads are safe; and families, friends and visitors are protected from substance-impaired driving and underage drinking.  We collaborate with other committed local community, government and nonprofit partners to accomplish our mission.  

NATIONALLY WHO IS MADD?

FOUNDED BY A MOTHER whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver, MADD is the nation’s largest nonprofit working to protect families from impaired driving and underage drinking. As one of the largest victim services organizations in the U.S., MADD served more than 63,000 victims last year at no charge, servicing on person every eight minutes.

JOIN OUR TEAM YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.  You will have unique exposure to the MADD SWFL community; including law enforcement, community leaders, legal professionals, healthcare workers and victims as well as parents and youth through our Power of Parents and Power of Youth underage drinking prevention presentations.  In 2015, we presented to over 10,000 parents and youth.

LAW ENFORCEMENT EVENT AND TRAINING  MULTI-COUNTY LOCATIONS  |  VARIOUS DATES Fifth annual event to honor and appreciate our community's law enforcement, first responders, state attorneys, teachers, nonprofits professionals and others who work and volunteer for a future of No More Victims of drunk and drugged driving as well as underage drinking.

WALK LIKE MADD & 5K JETBLUE PARK  |  9.28.2019

Fourth annual 5K to raise community awareness and funds for MADD in Southwest Florida.  This is an event that boasts more than 600 people.  Participants get to finish on the home plate of the 2018 World Series Winners.  Celebrity Chefs, community partners and family-fun activities follow this popular 5K.

TIE ON ONE FOR SAFETY   NAPLES | NOVEMBER 2019

Second annual event is focused on the Southwest Florida business community and features local and national speakers on how safe roads in our community build a strong economy.  This event also features custom Tie One On For Safety magnets for sponsors.

Third annual tribute event to remember those who are no longer with us, those who have been injured and those who have been impacted by drunk, drugged and impaired driving.

LAW ENFORCEMENT AND COMMUNITY RECOGNTION PROGRAM COUNTY SPECIFIC LOCATIONS NOMINATIONS 1.1.19 - 3.31.19 RECEPTION EVENTS IN MAY 2019

Over 300 local law enforcement, first responders, state attorneys, teachers, nonprofit professionals and others are recognized in their respective counties.  Their nominations are sent to the MADD State recognition program scheduled for July 2019.

JOIN MOTHERS AGAINST DRUNK DRIVING IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA TO HONOR AND APPRECIATE OUR COMMUNITY'S LAW ENFORCEMENT, FIRST RESPONDERS, STATE ATTORNEYS, TEACHERS, NONPROFITS PROFESSIONALS AND OTHERS WHO WORK AND VOLUNTEER FOR A FUTURE OF NO MORE VICTIMS OF DRUNK AND DRUGGED DRIVING AS WELL AS UNDERAGE DRINKING.    THIS YEAR, WE WILL HOST APPRECIATION RECEPTIONS IN EACH COUNTY MADD SOUTHWEST FLORIDA SERVES; LEE, COLLIER, CHARLOTTE, HENDRY AND GLADES COUNTIES.  ALL SPONSORS WILL BE INVITED TO THE APPRECIATION RECEPTIONS AND INCLUDED IN PRESS RELEASES, SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS AND MARKETING/NOMINATION COLLATERAL.  AS WELL, ALL SPONSORS WILL BE INVITED TO CHECKPOINTS AND WOLFPACK BRIEFINGS. EACH NOMINEE WILL RECEIVE A CUSTOM CHALLENGE COIN, HGN PEN, C0-BRANDED NOTEPAD, T- SHIRT & CERTIFICATE.  TOP HONOREES IN EACH CATEGORY WILL RECEIVE A PLAQUE. HGN PEN & PADFOLIO There are a vital tools needed during a DUI stop and arrest.  MADD SWFL wishes to partner with a company to purchase HGN pens to give to all nominees as well as new law

Challenge coins are highly sought after items because they are collected and traded among law enforcement and first responders.  Coin Sponsors will have their logo alongside MADD SWFL's logo on one side of the coin. 400 coins will be produced.  All nominees will receive a coin. enforcement professionals at the academy.  HGN pens will be presented with a co-branded, Sponsor Company & MADD SWFL, notepad. DryFit shirts are valuable to law enforcement as they are often worn under their protective vest.  Every nominee will receive a custom DryFit shirt with your logo and the commemorative 2019 MADD recognition logo. We will host receptions in each county to recognize nominees and announce top honorees.  It is expected that each reception will have ranking agency individuals and nominees present..

       ABOUT THE EVENT The fourth annual Walk Like MADD & 5K is a unique experience that brings awareness to the public health issue of drunk and drugged driving in our community.  

        WHY TH I S 5 K I S S P E C I A L

This USA Track and Field certified 5K course is only one of two events where participants can run, walk and slide into home base.   The 5K route starts near the jetBlue sundial, heads east on Daniels Parkway and meanders through beautiful tree-lined streets in Gateway to head back to jetBlue Park where participants run on the warning track in front of one of the original scoreboards to end on home plate.

And, we are a family and pet friendly event.
