E MPLOYEE H EALTH S CREENING

Effective May 18, 2020, all employees reporting to work will be screened for respira- tory symptoms and have their body temperature taken as a precautionary measure to reduce the spread of COVID - 19.

Upon arrival to work and prior to entering any other areas of the Club employees will report to the following areas for screening:

Arlington Clubhouse, tennis, aquatics, fitness, facilities maintenance, Greens Arlington and Golf Employees report to Security in the receiving area . Fairfax Clubhouse, aquatics and Golf Employees report to Security at designated en- trance area FFX Greens Employees report to Carmen Giannini or his designee Procedure: Employees will be asked to arrive to work with a mask, if they do not have one avail- able, the Club will provide at the screening. Employees are required to maintain social distancing while entering the Clubhouse. Each employee will be screened privately by designated Manager or Security Officer using a touch less forehead/ temporal artery thermometer. The employee ’ s temperature and answers to respiratory symptom questions will be documented, and the record will be maintained as a confidential medical record.

I NCREASED C LEANING & S ANITIZATION

The Club has implemented more stringent cleaning standards and increased the cleaning and disinfecting of high touch areas. We ask that each employee help keep their work area clean by wiping the area down prior to starting your day, during the day and at the end of the day. Employees should not use other employees ’ workspaces without first cleaning and sanitizing the area. The Club has increased the airflow exchange in the Clubhouse and are using the MERV 13 (Hospital grade) final filters. We ask that you keep all doors that do not need to be closed, open to reduce the number of surfaces we all touch.

All employees are asked to ensure their uniforms or personal clothing and cloth masks are laundered properly and worn in accordance with our standards of appearance policy.

A CTION S TEPS OF COVID-19

What do I do if I feel ill? Stay home. ANCC and the CDC recommend if you have any symptoms of Covid - 19 or are not feeling well in general, that you stay home and self quarantine for 14 days. Coming to work with an illness whether Covid - 19, flu, cold ’ s or any other illness, puts your fellow coworkers and members at risk. If you ’ re not feeling well, please contact your manager, let them know you are unable to come to work for your shift, and if necessary, seek medical attention. What do I do if I have been exposed to Covid - 19 while caring for a family member? You are required to stay self - isolated for 14 - days and may only return to work if you are symptom free. If during the isolation period your symptoms worsen, seek medical attention. For more guidelines, please reference the CDC ’ s website. What do I do if I have been diagnosed with Covid - 19? You are required to stay home until you have fully recovered from Covid - 19. You may return work once a doctor has released you to duty. What if I am concerned about returning to work as I have an underlying health condition? Please speak with Human Resources, they will address your concerns and together with your input will come up with a solution. All information related to your health condition will be kept confidential. If unable to return to work, you will be eligible to utilize your vacation or pto. What if I am unable to return to work due my childcare facility being closed due to Covid - 19? Please speak with Human Resources, they will address your concerns and together with your input will come up with a solution. You may be eligible for Paid Family Leave under the Families First Cares Act. What if I do not have sick or personal time and I am required to self - quarantine, test positive to Covid - 19 or have to care for a family member? Contact Human Resources, you maybe eligible for Paid Sick Leave under the Families First Cares Act.

Q UICK T IPS FOR W EARING A F ACE M ASK & G LOVES

ANCC will require all employees to wear a mask while working. Employees who cannot wear a mask due to a respiratory health condition, such as asthma, must see Human Resource

How to put on a face mask

• Clean your hands properly or use hand sanitizer if you have no access to water

• Check the mask you use is going to cover adequately from bridge of the nose to the chin

• For ear loop masks, hold the mask by both loops and gently loop over each ear

For tied masks, tie the upper strings in a bow first then lower string

Don ’ t fiddle with the mask

Continue to follow social distancing rules

How to take off a face mask

Wash your hands or sanitize first,

Try not to touch the outer potentially infected surface

• Remove one ear loop, wrap around the to the other side not touching the outside

Dispose of the mask immediately if it is disposable

Wash your hands or sanitize again

Gloves

Proper hand hygiene is the most effective way to stop the spread of germs and virus. Gloves offer protection, if used properly and should not give you a false sense security. Gloves should be removed and discarded after usage.

Properly put on your Gloves

Wash or sanitize your hands

Remove all jewelry which may rip the glove

Attempt not to touch outside of the glove as you put them on

Place glove on dominant hand and pull on. Repeat

S OCIAL D ISTANCING

As Covid - 19 is transferred by respiratory droplets, the CDC recommends that you keep six feet from each other. In order to properly social distance, the Club has marked areas on the floor showing six feet, limited the number of staff allowed in offices and retail areas at onetime, limited the number of employees in the elevators, removed seating in the break room and restaurants. We ask you maintain social distance from your coworkers, do not shake hands, hug or have close contact with each other. Acknowledge your coworkers and members with a smile – yes you can see a smile in your eyes, nod or friendly wave.

While this may be challenging at times, if we all make a conscious effort, we will be able to keep each other safe and healthy during this time

Who can apply?

Any FT/PT employee needing assistance are eligible to apply.

Where can do I find the form?

Please request the form from your department ’ s AGM or HR

What is the maximum I can apply for?

There is not a limit on the amount an employee can apply for from the fund, however the Foundation may not approve the total amount requested based on the demands from the fund.

Do I have to physically sign the application?

Due to the regulations of the ANCC Foundation, all forms must have the employees ’ original signature, forms may not be electronically signed and will be returned for signature.

If another employee and I have the same physical address should we apply together or separate?

If multiple requests have the same address, we prefer that the request is filed together.

What upper level management needs to sign the form?

It is required that the form have the AGM or GM ’ s signature. It should also have a supervisor/manager signature, but not required.

How long does the entire process take?

Please allow 7 business days from the time of submission for the process to be completed.

How do I know if I was approved or denied my request?

The AGM or HR will contact the employee once the foundation approves/denies a request.

If I am approved, how will I receive the funds?

Funds will be transferred from the Foundation to ANCC. If you already have direct deposit set up with the Club you will receive the funds that way, if you do not you will receive a check in the mail.

Limit your sources, practice acceptance, limit consumption, distinguish between global and local. Ask someone for help; if you feel you need separation from the news have a friend or loved one filter the news for you and give you updates.

Find Things to Do/Distractions

Activities that distract you from current events can be helpful. Here are a few ideas: Household chores, Free online university courses, Movies, Netflix, arts and crafts.

Help Others

The helper principle shows that helping others is also a benefit to the helper. In hard - hit Europe and other impacted communities, people are helping those self - isolating by shopping or running errands for them. Canada has developed a movement called “ caremongering. ”

E MPLOYEE B REAK A REA

The Club has modified the Employee break area to accommodate social distancing and lim- iting the number of employees in the break room at one time. All employee meals will be served in to - go containers (one box per employee) and are to be consumed in approved break areas. Employees are expected to properly dispose of their to - go containers and clean break areas after each use. One meal per worked shift.

L OCKER R OOMS

Locker rooms will be accessible for locker use only. Wet areas are closed until at least Phase 2 of recovery. Please plan accordingly when coming to work.

C ELLPHONE P OLICY

As cellphones are a high - touch item and hard to sanitize, we will no longer allow personal cellphones to be used during working hours. Employees may access their phones during breaks.

Sanitation Practices by Department

Administration The Administration Office has been and still is taking the following procedures to prevent the spread of Covid - 19: • Clean all surfaces, desk areas, door handles, printer/copiers, and phones each morning and throughout the day with Clorox disinfecting wipes. • Washing our hands often and using hand sanitizers as needed. Opening doors with a paper towel. • Keeping our social distances from each other and members at the window. • Admin Staff are alternating working from home to lessen the number of people in the office. Further protection by wearing masks while working and gloves while handling mail. Aquatics • Clean all surfaces, desk areas, door handles, printer/copiers, and phones each morning and throughout the day with Clorox disinfecting wipes. • Washing our hands often and using hand sanitizers as needed. Opening doors with a paper towel. • Keeping our social distances from each other and members at the window. • Admin Staff are alternating working from home to lessen the number of people in the office. Clubhouse • Front of the House, Housekeeping and Culinary staff has increased its use on single use latex and nitrile gloves • Hand washing procedures and awareness has been heightened in all areas of the club with all team mem- bers being taught the proper way to wash hands as described in orientation video • Sanitizer hand gel use has been increased and are refilled as needed

• Disposable 3 - ply mask are required • Six feet social distancing is required

Fitness Cleaning is ongoing while the fitness center is open. Housekeeping is on duty continuously. Members are encouraged to wipe equipment before and after use. Gloves are also available to them. Staff follows behind members to disinfect after equipment is used. We use three different methods: • Spray disinfectant • Immersing small equipment in a bucket of disinfectant solution • Spraying with the electrostatic gun

In addition, there are lots of wipes and hand sanitizer for members to use throughout the facility.

Greens We have a dedicated team member disinfecting all equipment and facility touch areas in the mornings prior to the arrival of the team.

• We have hand sanitizer available to all team member as well.

• Weekly meetings are utilized to remind the team of hand washing/social distancing etc.

A QUATICS

Pre Recovery Closed. Draining and cleaning of all pools. Maintenance on critical items needed for opening and inspection. Submission of county paperwork for permitting. Pre electri- cal inspection at both locations. Day One orientation and virtual staff meeting(s). Phase 1 ARL: 8am to 8pm lap swim (last swim slot 7pm). FXX: 10am to 7pm lap swim (last swim slot 6pm). *ARL - Olympic Pool open/upper pools closed. *FXX - Main Pool open/wading pool closed. Lap swim only. No socializing on deck/in pool. One swim- mer/per lane (ARL - 8/FXX - 6). Member schedule online 45 minute time window/24 hours in advance. At :45, cleaning of all pool decks, walls, all touch points. No ameni- ties, towels, use of main locker rooms, cups, or pool gear (Member BYO). No pro- grams such as lessons or water aerobics. No guests. No club team use. Swim/Dive team TBD. No Sports Camp swim lessons or free swim. No furniture set up, diving boards, slide, starting blocks. Entry and exit: *ARL - Entry off lower parking lot through double gate. Social gathering enforced. Check in table. *FXX - Entry and ex- it through side gate, monitor flow in and out with check in table and staff. Members allowed one (1) reservation/per day. Members may sign up for three (3) slots/per week to start (monitor to see if we can add more). Phase 2 Hours of OP TBD. Begin controlled opening of additional pools and usage. Begin wa- ter aerobics classes and lessons in upper pools with managed numbers and reserva- tions only. Allow use of diving boards and water slide. Dear Members and Friends,

We continue to monitor closely the impact of the COVID - 19 (Coronavirus) outbreak and have decided to take some additional preventive measures. These are intended to promote social distancing and take into account directions and guidance issued by Federal, State, Local, and District of Columbia jurisdictions.

These measures will last a minimum of 14 days. We recognize that they will cause disruptions to many member routines and we regret the inconvenience they will cause. They have not been taken lightly and are made out of an abundance of caution.

The following emergency measures are effective immediately:

1. The Arlington Fitness Center and the Arlington Aquatics building are closed. 2. The Arlington Sun Room is closed. 3. The sauna and steam rooms at ANCC Arlington will be closed. 4. Golf, Tennis and Dining operations will continue with changes as noted below. 5. We will no longer permit group activities of more than six people at a time. This applies to all activities, including dining. 6. Per CDC guidelines, no more than 50 persons may be present at any event at the club. 7. We have reduced capacity in all dining rooms to promote social distance. 8. All bar stools are removed and standing service at bars will be eliminated. 9. Dining rooms will operate on reduced hours. Please check dining schedules on the website before coming to the Club. 10. Buffets will be eliminated in all restaurants. 11. When playing golf we ask that pins remain in the cup, and all putts ‘ inside the leather ’ are ‘ gimmes. ’ Some exceptions for tournament golf may apply. 12. Ball washers and water coolers have been removed. Please bring your own water bottle. 13. Hitting areas on the driving range will be spread out to create social distance. 14. Please refrain from all handshaking when at the Club. 15. Please continue to follow CDC guidelines. If you are not feeling well please stay home.

Dear Members,

The Executive Committee, Board of Directors and Club management have been actively monitoring the rapidly changing environment surrounding the novel Coronavirus (COVID - 19) and what changes we need to make to Club operations to maintain a safe environment for our members and staff. The Club is continuing to follow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and requirements and guidelines from federal, state and local authorities related to the Coronavirus and take steps to protect the health and safety of our members, guests and staff. We are also in contact with other area Clubs as to the steps they are taking as a result of the Coronavirus. We have instructed staff to stay home and not come to the Club if they are exhibiting any signs of being sick, have come in contact with someone who is sick, or have recently travelled to an area of concern. We continue to ask that our members and their guests do the same. We also continue to ask members and staff to refrain from handshakes.

We also implore any members or staff who have been diagnosed with COVID - 19 to report that information to the Club so that the membership can be informed of their potential exposure.

Below is an update on some of the additional operational and facilities changes we are putting in place effective today to help ensure the safety of our members and staff. These preventive measures also are based on the current directives that have been issued by the CDC and federal, state, and local governmental authorities. The CDC called for the postponement or cancellation of all events with 10 or more people for the next 8 weeks in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. These changes will remain in effect until 1 April, but we will continue to monitor developments daily and provide regular updates as circumstances change and/or we make further changes in Club operations and procedures. We are working on a plan to ensure the staff receive compensation through 1 April. In addition we are working with the ANCC Foundation to set up an employee hardship fund that members can contribute to and receive a tax deduction. If this situation continues past 1 April many of our valued employees may run into hardship as the Club simply can ’ t keep employees whole indefinitely.

The updated changes are:

1. All restaurants are closing at 3:00 PM today, 17 March a. Stars and Stripes at Arlington will be open for ‘ to go ’ orders from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. b. The PoG at Fairfax will be open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM 2. All clubhouse events of ten or more people will be suspended until further notice 3. Indoor Contracts will be suspended and the indoor pro shop will be unstaffed and closed beginning Thursday, 19 March. Members may make random time reservations online with court fees suspended until the start of the outdoor season. An email from the Tennis Department will be sent to the Tennis Opt - In list tomorrow afternoon outlining the details of these changes. a. The Board has postponed budget meetings and any dues increase for the time being. The Special Membership Meeting is tentatively moved to 1 June.

CHAIRMAN AND GM MESSAGE 24 MARCH 2020

Dear Member,

While we ’ re all experiencing uncertainty and a very fluid situation as the Coronavirus pandemic forces changes in how we go about our daily routines, the Club is no different. Our priorities are to keep members and employees safe and, secondarily, to keep our business afloat. We continue to make changes to the operations of the Club as we gather information from the CDC, local and national governments. In addition to previously announced closings, both Clubhouses, including locker rooms, will be closed as of 5:00 PM tomorrow, Wednesday, 25 March . The golf shops, tennis shop and outside entrances to Stars and Stripes will remain open with a strict policy of less than 10 people in any area at one time. Please do not use the Club as a social gathering place after golf, tennis or dining. There will not be a newsletter for the month of April and all events up to and including 25 April are cancelled per Governor Northam ’ s Executive Order. While some areas of the Club currently remain open it is imperative that ALL practice social distancing both at the Club and away from the Club. This practice helps protects other members, our valued employees and you. If we find we are not practicing social distancing we may be forced to close all operations until further notice. Army Navy Country Club runs an operational budget that has approximately $30 M in annual revenue. 59% of that revenue comes from member dues and the other 41% of revenue comes from food and beverage and other fees. Essentially our $30 M operation has become an $18 M operation due to the pandemic. The Club ’ s expenses come from fixed costs such as taxes, supplies & materials and payroll. Our number one asset is our staff and we have committed to compensating all full time and long - term part time employees until at least mid - April. It is important to know that many of our hourly employees have been laid off from second jobs and their family members are now unemployed as well. Despite this best effort of the Club to continue compensating our employees, many will still be in need of additional resources.

The ANCC Foundation has set up a hardship fund and all donations are restricted to help our employees in need. This doesn ’ t mean we cannot or will not pay all employees longer if needed, it means this is a first step based on the information we have available today. CHAIRMAN AND GM MESSAGE 14 APRIL 2020

Dear Member,

I hope this message finds you and your family healthy and safe. We are taking several additional actions to help us navigate through these unprecedented times.

Although there are relief packages out there for small businesses, as a 501 (c )7 organization, ANCC does not qualify for most of the options, including the Paycheck Protection Plan, which would have allowed the Club to receive 2.5 times our payroll for a period of two months. This has left us with the difficult decision to furlough 123 employees. The majority work in our food and beverage departments at both Arlington and Fairfax. Many of our hourly employees may benefit from unemployment benefit rates as the government has subsidized the payout with an additional $600 per week, creating increased income versus our employee ’ s traditional earnings. The Club is also covering all furloughed employee ’ s healthcare premiums until they can come back to work. Through your generosity, the ANCC Foundation has raised over $100,000 to the Employee Support Fund, and several team members have already received funds to help them pay rent, pay bills, and put food on the table. Those on furlough are still eligible for support through this program. If you would like to make a tax - free contribution to the Fund to assist our staff in need, please click here. Those employees not on furlough continue to work hard for ANCC, and they thank and appreciate you for all the support over the past weeks. We are continuing to add services where we can at the Club for you. For example, over this past weekend, Arlington and Fairfax together served 1,000 to - go Easter meals to our members. Other to - go meal programs have launched with great success as well. Wine orders over the past two weeks have exploded, selling over 1,200 bottles of wine. We will be emailing a special edition of our e - newsletter by the end of the month with several opportunities for you to take advantage of. Recently, some of our neighbors have been visiting the Arlington property on their own, so we are scheduling a security guard at the 18th Street entrance gate four days a week, ten hours each day, to patrol access and to remind non - members that we are a private club. It is important to continue to obey the social distance regulations while at the Club. Please do not gather anywhere on property after your round of golf or tennis. We have had two visits from the Fairfax City police department saying they received anonymous calls about people gathering at the Club. We must continue to follow the Governor ’ s orders or risk being completely shut down.
