Happy Heart Month! Thank you to everyone who thought of us by referring a friend or loved one to our Free Screening Day Celebration! We hope you all had a happy holiday season and are surviving the winter weather without incident. Here’s how your Atlas spent a little of their time off… Becky had her first American Christmas! She’s always celebrated Ukrainian or Russian Christmases growing up. Her favorite gifts were gym leggings and an eye shadow pallet that was used in the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. If you’re looking for a good book to read, Megan says Where the Crawdads Sing is one of her favorites. The holidays with her family including her 7 kids, one daughter- in-law, and one future son-in-law. They took a turn tackling

the local Escape Room, figuring out the puzzles together with a few minutes to spare! They also worked on an ongoing family history book project. She rang in the New Year at church and was home on the couch at midnight! Her holiday adventures made her realize how blessed she and her family are. Mallory’s family got her grandfather a new crab pot so he can steam crabs in the summer. A bonfire was planned but the weather wasn’t in her favor! Her New Year’s resolutions include focusing more on herself, including her overall health and eating habits. She is also planning on moving out soon, which is a big step!!

Bekah received a Theracane this Christmas to work out some icky tension! She spent her holiday surrounded by friends in Washington D.C. They walked around the Capitol, the White House, and toured the Christmas trees. For New Year’s Eve, she and husband Greg decided to take it easy – they stayed in and had a movie marathon, staying up to watch the ball drop. Sam’s favorite gift was a pots-and-pans set from his parents. He was excited to be able to see his parents in central Pennsylvania for a long weekend, since he hasn’t made it home since June. He also went to Philadelphia with his girlfriend and some grad school friends, where they rented out a bar for New Year’s Eve. The holiday was an exciting time for his family – his cousin had a baby and his brother got engaged!

(continued from outside)

Jo’s favorite present was a comfy Redskins blankit. His favorite gift given was a “spa day” for his mom and sister – he hopes they have a good time because they deserve it! He had a few friends over for New Year’s Eve too, he even got to see some of his family that he hadn’t seen for 3 years! Jo had a great time seeing all his little cousins grown up and in high school, some of whom are even starting college – he just hopes it doesn’t take that long to see them again! Jazmyn’s favorite gifts were a make-up vanity chair that was refurbished by her best friend, light bulbs for her mirror, and a paint easel and art set. She also spent the holidays throwing “shin-digs” at her house with friends and family.

February 2019

TJ and I had a very busy but exciting holiday season ourselves. The day before winter break, Samantha lost her right front tooth! They were eating dinner at Gran and PopPop’s when it came out in a dinner biscuit! She pulled her other front tooth out 10 days later, using one of the remote control cars we got for Christmas. She got the idea from a boy in her class who’d done the same! Santa treated our girls well and their favorites were “evy- thing”! TJ and I received nice gifts as well, including some high school memorabilia and our own RC cars to chase the girls with! I also got electric handwarmers to warm up my cold hands! After a 3 year hiatus, I completed the annual poem that I write to TJ, a little book I started when we got engaged in 2005. We watched the London NYE countdown on YouTube, shot confetti in the air, and the girls were asleep by 10:30 p.m. (mostly because they

thought they made it up until 12 a.m. to watch the “real” ball drop). Samantha did question our count down: “Is this really in North America?” Worked like a charm! Over Sydney’s holiday, she set up a video camera to watch her dog Scooby while she’s gone – he’s been a bad boy and has been chewing on her shoes! She rang in the New Year with Morgan at Primo, and has been getting excited for her Kesha cruise. She’ll be sailing from Tampa to Nassau, Bahamas later in February! Lauren’s holidays also included a puppy and a vacation! Her family welcomed puppy Kiana, she definitely won for best gift! After Christmas she and her husband enjoyed a tropical getaway, stay tuned for some hi-lights next month!

“Atlas has been a wonderful experience!” “Atlas has been a wonderful experience. I am not one for a doctor’s office, so P.T. was the best option for me. Staff has done a great job helping me fix a pinched nerve which was preventing me from my routine work duties. Over a few weeks, and about 10 visits, I was able to work a whole day without pain.” - John A.

Begin boiling the cabbage in 3 in of water until the leaves peel off easily (about 20 min). When done, allow them to cool. While cabbage is simmering, bring lentils to a boil in a separatesmallsaucepan.Lowerheatandallow tosimmer for35minutes,addingwater to the pot as needed. Drain any excess liquid. While lentils simmer, place broth into another saucepan, add quinoa, and bring to a boil. Let simmer for 20 min until all of the water is absorbed (about 20 min). Cook onion with oil in a large skillet over medium heat until soft and translucent (about 5 min).Add1 1/2 cups of thecooked lentils and1 cup of thecooked quinoa, along with red wine vinegar, soy sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to taste.
