This is a non-competitive program with the main emphasis on having FUN! League standings or individual statistics are not maintained. The goal of the program is for players to learn the basic skills necessary to succeed and have fun in soccer. The philosophy of the Recreational Indoor Soccer League is to provide an equal opportunity for all children to learn and develop soccer skills, team play, sportsmanship, and a greater appreciation for the game in a safe and fun environment. This is a co-ed league. Based on registration, multiple age groups will be combined to form even teams.

LEAGUE DETAILS:

Equipment: Canlan Sports will provide team shirts for all participants. Children should wear athletic shoes (rubber molded cleats are optional), comfortable shorts and shin guards. Children should bring their own ball for practice. Format: The season will be 10 weeks long. Weeks 1 and 2 will be 1 hour team practices. Weeks 3-10 will start with a 15 minute warm up/practice followed by a game of two 20-minute halves. Volunteer coaches needed: 1-2 volunteer coaches will be needed per team. Coaches will be expected to facilitate practices and provide equal playing time for all players.

Canlan Sports Double Dribblers Fall 2022 Grades K-2

Dates: November 5-December 17 Day: Saturday Fee: $90 Location: Canlan Sports Libertyville 1950 N. US HWY 45

This fundamental program for grades K-2 will concentrate on introducing and developing the skills needed for the game of basketball. Drills will be conducted in group and individual format for a portion of class, followed by controlled scrimmages and games. Junior size ball and adjusted rim heights will be used for full enjoyment of the game.

Volunteer coaches Needed: 1-2 volunteer coaches will be needed per team. Coaches will be expected to facilitate practices with the assistance of Canlan Sports staff. 2nd Grade 3:30-4:30pm: Consists of 2 weeks of practice/controlled scrimmages followed by 4 weeks of games Kindergarten 1:30-2:30pm: Consists of 3 weeks of practice/controlled scrimmages followed by 3 weeks of games 1st Grade 2:30-3:30pm: Consists of 2 weeks of practice/controlled scrimmages followed by 4 weeks of games

Canlan Youth Basketball League Grades 3-8

Evaluation day (November 13,time TBD) consists of skills and drills for coaches to evaluate players. Coaches are required to attend the evaluation day/time for the grade they will be coaching. Coaches will run skills/drills during evaluations. Teams will be created by coaches and Canlan Sports staff immediately following the evaluation. Players who can not attend or register after evaluation day will be randomly placed on a team. There is no evaluation day for grades 3-4. Grade 3-4 players will be randomly placed on a team by Canlan staff and coaches. Sign up now for our popular Canlan Youth Basketball League.This recreational basketball league is for Boys and Girls grades 3-8. Practices start the week of December 5th; games begin January 14th. Coaches will begin notifying players of their practice day/time soon after the player evaluation day on November 13.

The program: For boys and girls, grades 3-8, of all skill levels. This is a non-competitive program with the main emphasis on having FUN! League standings or individual statistics are not maintained. All players are guaranteed equal playing time. Grades may be combined based on number of players in each grade. Due to the size of the program, we are not able to accommodate special requests. Games: Games begin Saturday, January 14th.All teams are guaranteed a 9 games season; Grades 5-8 teams will play 8 games followed by a single elimination tournament. Saturday will be the primary day for games beginning at 8:00am. Fridays and Sundays may be used for games during the season depending on the number of participants in the program. All games will be played at Canlan Sports in Libertyville. Two parent volunteers will be needed to keep score during each game.

Equipment: Your child will need gym shoes and a pair of shorts. Canlan will provide each child with a jersey which is included in the registration fee. Boys grades 3-4, girls grades 3-8 use a size 28.5 basketball. Boys grades 5-8 will use a regulation size 29.5 basketball. Coaches: Coaches are needed for all grades. All coaching positions are volunteer. The Head Coach may select an Assistant Coach to help with practices/games throughout the season. To sign up to coach, please email Eric at [email protected]. Practice days, times are determined by the availability of the coaches as well as the availability of the Canlan Sports Facility. All practices will be at Canlan Sports in Libertyville.
