With the steady rise in motorcyclist fatalities in Louisiana, we are more eager than ever to team up with the Motorcycle Awareness Campaign (MAC) and the Orange County Choppers to encourage drivers to share the road and be more aware because preventing injuries in the first place is our No. 1 priority. One of our clients was a passenger on a motorcycle being driven by her husband, something they did frequently. On what should have been a normal day, a woman rolled through a stop sign, crashing into our client and her husband. Our client was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained life-changing injuries. Unfortunately, her husband lost his life due to his injuries. The insurance company initially blamed our client’s husband for the crash. However, through an intense investigation, our legal team was able to show that the other driver had run the stop sign and was indeed at fault. But how do you even begin to place value on a human life? Our client was going to have to live with this tragic memory forever. After a long battle with the insurance company, we secured a settlement for our client and her late husband of $2.5 million.
