NEW HARMONY’S ATHENEUM Histor ic New Harmony’s Atheneum houses visi tor informat ion, the Museum Shop, and is the start ing point for thei r guided walking tours of histor ic structures. In the Atheneum there are exhibi ts on the communal history of New Harmony, a large theater where an or ientat ion f i lm on the town is shown. EVANSVILLE AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM

Located in one of the nat ion’s f i rst housing projects, Lincoln Gardens was bui l t in 1938 under President Roosevel t ’s New Deal Program and is now a museum celebrat ing the struggles, successes and exper iences of the Afr ican Amer ican cul ture in Evansvi l le over the past 80 years. EVANSVILLE WARTIME MUSEUM Dur ing WWI I , our nat ion’s mi l i tary went into bat t le wi th ai rplanes, ships, tanks and muni t ions manufactured in Evansvi l le, IN. Stop by to see and hear the wor ld-changing story of our region. The Rei tz Home was bui l t in 1871 and is noted as one of the country’s f inest examples of French Second Empi re archi tecture.

CRESCENT CITY TATTOO MUSEUM On display is a col lect ion of Midwest-focused, ear ly Amer icana folk art including tat tooing design sheets, tat too t runks, and ephemera f rom the dawn of electr ic tat tooing start ing in the 1900’s through 1960s. This museum is a resul t of many years of research and col lect ing and is one of just 19 tat too museums in the country.

WESSELMAN WOODS This plot of old-growth forest is the largest tract of vi rgin, old-growth forest wi thin any ci ty l imi ts in the United States. As an Indiana Nature Preserve and Nat ional Natural Landmark, Wesselman Woods is a surviving remnant of Southern Indiana’s or iginal forests. Wi thin the preserve, you wi l l f ind one of the largest Nature Playscapes in the country!

HOWELL WETLANDS As one of only five urban wetland parks in Indiana with fresh mulch and plentiful boardwalks, this is the perfect trail for all climates. Even though it is located in the city, it impressively showcases a diversity of wetland habitats across 35 acres of urban wetlands. USI TRAILS The University of Southern Indiana is home to miles of multi-use, scenic trails. The 14-acre campus is open to students and for public use. BLUE GRASS FISH & WILDLIFE Voted as the best sunset spot in Evansville by Evansville Living, this beautiful 2,532 acres of preserved wildlife area is the perfect spot to fish and hunt or canoe and watch the sunset.
