LEGACY & HERITAGE

This cornerstone passion was passed down to David Escobedo by his father, Dario, whose dedication to superior construction afforded him a reputation as a craftsman and made the Escobedo name synonymous with quality. Like his father, David’s early success came from hard work, integrity, and his focus on a time-honored craft. By 1987, David was beginning to display mastery in each part of the construction process—concrete, stonework, steelwork, and millwork. This allowed the Escobedo Group team to grow as David not only brought on experienced artisans in each of these fields but also, innovative engineers.

It wasn’t long before David and Escobedo Group had been proven as a pioneer in luxury construction, showcasing with each new project our team’s impassioned and unparalleled capabilities. As we continue to lead the industry, providing new and innovative construction solutions, it’s the passion passed down to David from his father that ensures we remain founded on a simple belief—that the quality of everything we build comes from the talent and dedication of those who build it.

The Armadillo Vault was the centerpiece of the “Beyond Bending” exhibition at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Alejandro Aravena, which was held in Venice, Italy, from May 28 to November 27, 2016.

ARMADILLO VAULT

Comprised of 399 individually cut limestone pieces, unreinforced and assembled without mortar, the Armadillo Vault spans 16 meters with a minimum thickness of only 5 cm. Its funicular geometry allows it to stand in pure compression, while tension ties equilibrate the form. Starting from the same structural and constructional principles as historic stone cathedrals, this sophisticated form emerged from novel computational graphic statics-based design and optimization methods developed by the project team.

DARIO PANELIZED SYSTEM

What once took months to build onsite, now gets erected in days. DARIO is a panelized construction method developed by the Escobedo Group that allows any structure - from a home to an office building - to be constructed in a controlled facility in panels, and then erected on site with minimal impact to the jobsite or environment. DARIO provides an exceptional quality build, in less time than conventional construction. Every panel is constructed of light gauge steel with structured steel components as necessary and measured to exact precision, ensuring a seamless final product.

DARIO PANELIZED SYSTEM

DARIO panels are constructed in Escobedo Group’s 60,000 square foot state of the art facility in Buda, Texas, and transported directly to the jobsite. DARIO structures are then erected in days, not months - leaving minimal impact on the jobsite and surrounding nature.

CRANES

This crane division helps us complete internal projects and allows us to assist general contractors with their projects. This happens whether or not any other members of our team are working on that particular project. General contractors in the Central Texas area are welcome to take advantage of our crane division’s offerings by renting our hydraulic cranes, up to 300-ton models. We also have a larger crawler and hydraulic cranes available by request. Other equipment that we rent out includes a tractor-trailer, Sky-Trak, trailer or flatbed truck, rigger, and concrete bucket, skip pan, or personnel basket.

At Escobedo, we are so much more than general contractors who focus on luxury buildings. We are also specialists in a range of areas and have the heavy machinery necessary to complete nearly any building project via our crane division.
