RECOMMEND FLIP-BOOKS
From the President
Dear Members, I want to take this opportunity to update you on our progress to meet your expectations at the clubhouse and within our club community to support your personal and professional lives. Our Community Camaraderie, networking, stimulating events, great dining experiences, and a committed staff have all contributed to our re-energized and growing membership. Our reputation for delivering a true Club experience is helping to build and retain a membership of 6,500 Careful and controlled spending have helped provide funding for a number of critical items necessary to keep our Clubhouse safe and secure. Moving our administrative staff back into the building in January improved security and helped identify and correct service deficiencies. Guest elevators are scheduled for replacement this summer with updated safety features, mechanics and upgraded cabs. The flooring in the Bar & Grill is slated for replacement in August. Your voice One of the Boards' primary goals is to serve your life cycle of membership. Only by listening and anticipating your needs can we thoughtfully and responsibly steer the Club toward strategic capital investments and programmatic changes. You asked us to consider some of the recently opened work spaces for hire and social clubs that have opened in NYC in the last few years. The information obtained helped us to better understand the types of facilities that are of interest to you – and more importantly what is not. In addition, your collected opinions and ideas from our recent survey (as well as the comprehensive 2015 survey) helped inform the Board on a number of important issues and projects this year. I hope we will continue to hear from you as we work to accomplish three important goals: 1. Do our best to meet your expectations to provide the facilities and services you value most as a member. 2.With improvements, attract more new members which ultimately helps lower the cost of dues and assessment. 3. Maintain, equip and staff our Club to support you and our active Club community. Thank you for your feedback and support. I look forward to working with you to make our Club a place you are proud to call home. Sincerely, strong – and growing. Our Clubhouse
Happenings Our Newest Members Over 500 new members have joined the Club this year! Many new members attended Happy Hours in the Bar & Grill to meet key staff members and local Board members. If you are a new member and haven’t attended one of these fun, informative gatherings, join us on September 25. Industry targeted events, Black Tie Ivy Inter-Club events, and an affordable midtown gym builds the right foundation for recent grads. After careful consideration by our Finance Committee and Board, a modest 5% dues increase was approved to keep up with our increasing labor, Real Estate Tax and product/maintenance costs. However, we are reducing your Assessment contribution by 12% for an overall net savings to you of 7% compared to last year’s rates. We are confident that as our membership grows and our Clubhouse thrives, assessment fees will continue to decrease and our dues, and the added dues of new members, will provide the funds needed to finish the final phases of the 2015 Strategic Plan’s final three improvements:
