DECORATE YOUR HOME ON A BUDGET

Stay Big on Style, Low on Cost

I often find myself looking for new ways to update my home decor. Whether that be for the season or for the holidays, it’s always nice to refresh a living space every once in a while. I tend to get bored looking at the same decor all year long, but I realized it can be a bit costly to constantly change it up. Thankfully, there are still cost-efficient ways to keep your home decor looking aesthetically pleasing. Here are some tips and tricks to spice up your home without breaking the bank.

it’s a great way to let others enjoy treasured items. The estate organizer is trying to get their client as much value as possible for their belongings, but there are times you can try to negotiate the price. It never hurts to ask!

Add a plant or two.

Whether fake or real, plants are a great way to brighten any room. They can really pull a space together and make it feel much cozier. Having plants around encourages a happier and healthier lifestyle, too, as they release oxygen and eliminate harmful toxins in the air. You can often find potted plants in stylish containers at places like Trader Joe’s or Target, so you won’t have to spend extra money on fancy pots. You can also repaint them if you’d like, depending on your own style.

Repurpose what you already have.

BEFORE

You don’t necessarily need to throw out all of your existing decor in order to spice things up. Many of the things you already have may simply need a transformation to make them feel brand-new again. These can become fun, DIY projects that you can work on, such as repainting a dresser or switching out different frames for a photo. Repurposing old items into new treasures can be a perfect fit since you already know these pieces will work well in your space.

Take a look at these orange, wooden floors. Although in good condition, they don’t really fit in with the homeowner’s vision of a more modern kitchen. With our fast, affordable, and safe refinishing process, we were able to deliver sleek, black floors that turned their dream kitchen into a reality. Let’s do the same for you — call (304) 760-9500, and we can make your floors look amazing!

Try stick and peel wallpaper.

This is great for people who live in apartments and can’t paint their walls. But it can work for any type of home. A big benefit of stick and peel wallpaper is that it is easy to apply and even remove. It doesn’t leave any sticky residue behind, and you can use it multiple times on different walls, over an entire area, or as an accent. It comes in many designs and colors, so you have an array of choices to infuse into your own style. Depending on your living space and budget, refreshing your home decor can be a lot less difficult than you think. If you go with the flow of your own taste and style, you will save money and ensure you’re happy with your efforts.

Shop at antique shops and estate sales.

You can get the best deals on home decor at antique shops and estate sales. These are excellent places to find slightly used items such as art, vases, frames, and even kitchenware. You can even purchase larger items like furniture or mirrors, too. Antique stores sell some pretty interesting pieces for a good price — or even items you can refurbish to make new again. Try painting some old glassware before putting them on an open shelf; this can add a nice pop of color to any room.

As for estate sales, a lot of the items sold have typically been collecting dust or sitting unused, so

When you go to a nice restaurant, you’re not just paying for food — you’re also paying for an experience. Decor might be the last thing on a guest’s mind, but with the right design, some restaurants are absolutely breathtaking. Here are a few of our favorites. 3 Most Beautiful Restaurants in America WHERE THE VIEW IS PART OF THE MENU …

Pink Cadillac Diner — Natural Bridge, Virginia

When people think about racing, the first thing that comes to mind is usually NASCAR, the most popular auto racing sport today. But it’s not the first style of racing that took place. NASCAR began in 1948, but rally racing can be traced to 1894. It’s considered one of the most dangerous sports ever. The Need for Speed WHAT IS RALLY RACING?

Taking a step into this restaurant feels like stepping straight into the 1950s … in all the best ways possible. The diner’s bold, beautiful shades of bubblegum pink — including a vintage pink Cadillac parked in front — prompt nostalgia and delight. Accompanied with a classic burger and ice cream diner menu, this East Coast gem is a destination you won’t want to miss.

Cecconi’s Dumbo — New York City

There are plenty of gorgeous restaurants in the Big Apple, but you’ll always hear Cecconi’s Dumbo mentioned among the best. Located in Brooklyn Bridge Park, your table might have dramatic views of the bridge or a waterfront view of the Manhattan skyline. It’s the best possible pairing with their classic Italian menu, complete with handmade pasta and high-end ingredients from Italy.

What is rally racing?

This motorsport takes place on public or private roads with either modified or specially built cars. Their racing style is unique because although cars are racing against each other, each driver takes turns driving the same track. They compete to have the fastest time along the narrow, curvy, and oftentimes dangerous course. Rally racing drivers are regarded as some of the best drivers in the world because they can control their vehicles at high speed, on straight and curvy roads, and on all types of terrain, pavement, gravel, mud, snow, and ice. Because the cars are going exponentially fast, they need a co-driver to give the driver directions. These co-drivers use code and abbreviations when talking to the driver. For example, the co-driver could say, “Right five over crest, one hundred, caution! Left two.” This may not make sense to us, but to the driver, they understand it as “There is an easy right turn over a crest in the road. Then in 100 yards, the road will turn into a hard left.” The sport requires an abundance of trust between the driver and co-driver because they are dependent on one another to complete the race in a fast, but safe, manner. Why is rally racing considered dangerous? Because these cars are often running fast on common roads, there is always a chance of crashes and oversteering. The sport is dangerous for the participants, but the spectators could also be in danger. Most viewers are watching from the side of the road, putting them at risk if the racers make a mistake. There are no protected barriers to keep rally watchers safe from the racing circuits. Rally racing is a popular sport in Europe and is gaining popularity in the United States. If you’re ever curious about what these races look like, search them online. There are tons of videos you can watch that will show you the excitement these races produce for the participants and spectators.

The French Laundry — Yountville, California

If there’s a contest for the best food and views offered by a restaurant in America, this three-star Michelin restaurant just might place first. Run by Thomas Keller, its rustic, cottage-like setting in Napa Valley always turns heads with its surprisingly sophisticated design (as well as its exclusive tasting menus!). The restaurant’s gardens are beautifully lit and dotted with Japanese maple trees — a sight that will blow you away. Most people can have a good meal at home, so if you have the time and money, why not pay a little extra for a nice view? Go ahead and indulge. We won’t judge — we’ll even be a little jealous!

MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY NOOK AND CRANNY

As people spend more time in their houses, the boundaries between home, work, and leisure are blurred more than ever, which can impact mood and productivity. No matter where you live — a single-family suburban home or a one-bedroom apartment — you want to squeeze as much function as you can in an existing space. These tactics will help you get the most out of your abode. Fold it away. One of the first steps in creating more space is to utilize multifunctional furniture. These are pieces that can fold and free up floor space when they’re not in use, or they can even transform into another piece of useful furniture. Instead of using a free-standing desk, you can go with a fold-away desk that disappears into your wall or can easily be hidden in a storage area or under the bed. There are also tables that transform and expand when needed. You can look into using a bed that folds into the wall, as they come with built-in storage options to keep extra bedding, clothes, shoes, and other space-hogging items. Consider combining rooms. If you have an open-floor plan, combining rooms is a great way to make the most of the existing space. Combining rooms like the dining room and kitchen is ideal for social gatherings in one area where no one is cut off from the crowd while cooking. Another combination is a bedroom closet and office. A few TAKE A BREAK

shelves and a chair can morph a closet into a great office workplace, and you can even tuck it behind a curtain when it’s not in use. You can also use this technique in an empty corner of a room. When it comes to creating a multifunctional area, it’s not about dividing the room in half. Instead, it’s about allocating your space according to how you’re actually going to use it. You can really use every nook and cranny of your home to your advantage, and it’ll give you plenty of room for more activities.

Plants You Can Grow in Late Summer 4.

KEEP UP WITH YOUR GARDEN

EVEN IN AUGUST

Spinach is a hardy green that can withstand colder temperatures. You can sprinkle seeds along a row or even interplant between taller crops to provide shelter from the late summer sun.

Marigolds are sturdy annual plants that will stay strong until the first hard frost comes along. They come in bright yellows, orange, or even cream and can be great for dressing up beds or adding a pop of color to any room. Another gorgeous annual flower is the snapdragon . You can get plenty of colorful blooms before a hard freeze because they still grow well in cooler weather. And as an added bonus, pollinators love them!

As summer slowly comes to an end, so does the peak season of gardening. But there are still some short-seasoned edibles and other ornamental plants to refresh any flower bed before winter rolls in. Fast-growing cucumber plants can be ready in about 40 days. This is a great fall harvesting veggie that can have 10–15 cucumbers ready by the end of their season.
